Could this sweet-looking young beauty actually have the power to harm me?
Anya didn't believe it at all. Although she wasn't using her Sharingan, after countless battles, she could roughly determine someone's strength just by their aura. Mabui was no threat to her.
Mabui walked past Killer Bee and offered Anya a warm smile. "Yunbai, you know what happened here in the Land of the Blacksmiths, right?"
Anya nodded. "I needed a custom weapon made. After placing my order, they naturally can't spare time to supply Kumogakure with ninja equipment."
"Oh?" Mabui asked in surprise. "Just one person's weapon requires that many people?"
"That's right."
Upon hearing Anya's firm reply, Mabui's curiosity grew. "May I go inside and take a look at your weapon?"
"Of course."
With Killer Bee present, Anya had no desire to provoke conflict with Kumogakure. Besides, this girl's attitude seemed genuinely friendly. And since simply viewing the weapon wouldn't cause any loss, she agreed. She doubted whether Kumogakure dared spend ten billion ryo just to replicate it.
Her request was accepted far more easily than she expected. After a brief moment of shock, Mabui turned to Killer Bee. "Don't run off anywhere. Wait for me here. We'll leave together once I'm done. Otherwise…"
Before Mabui could finish, Killer Bee immediately replied, "Yes."
Killer Bee seems afraid of this girl. Is her identity particularly significant, or does she possess some special ability?
Once both entered, the Forge was so silent that even the sound of a needle dropping could be clearly heard. Some craftsmen leaned against walls, fast asleep, while the awake ones focused intently on carving something. Looking closer, they were working meticulously on extremely tiny blades. Given the precision required, no wonder so many hands were needed.
Anya raised a finger to her lips, signaling for silence, worried their presence might disturb the workers.
Nodding in understanding, Mabui quietly observed the scene, increasingly puzzled. These tiny blades seemed impractical, yet there were so many of them. How could Yunbai control them all alone?
Finally, Mabui understood why Yunbai had agreed so easily—the weapon must hold some hidden secret.
Thinking this, she gave Anya a knowing look before turning to leave.
Anya quietly stepped out behind her.
Stepping outside into the sunlight, Mabui gave Anya a teasing frown. "You never intended to let me see the real prototype of this weapon, did you?"
"You're so smart," Anya cheerfully replied with a smile. "The blueprints are with me. If you're interested, I can show them to you too."
That's too generous—there has to be a catch. Mabui suppressed her curiosity and said casually, "Forget it. Right now, I only want to know how much longer your weapon will take to complete. My village urgently needs the Land of the Blacksmiths to fulfill its order as soon as possible."
"Not just smart, but also knows when to advance and retreat," Anya said with a calm smile, a hint of appreciation flashing in her eyes. "Actually, I don't know either—it's a weapon blueprint. Why don't you estimate the time required to make it yourself?"
Mabui looked at Anya in surprise, clearly confused by what she meant. After hesitating for a moment, she still accepted the blueprint for The Supreme Blade.
Upon closer inspection, she was immediately shocked by the weapon's structure. The entire weapon was made up of those tiny blades—over a thousand in total. Such an enormous workload—how could she possibly estimate the time required?
Although unable to determine the timeframe, she still examined the blueprint repeatedly. This was absolutely a killing instrument designed specifically for slaughter. If Yunbai before her truly mastered it perfectly, how powerful would he become? Just thinking about it gave her chills.
After a long pause, Mabui took a deep breath, returned the blueprint to Anya, and grew serious. "Yunbai, can you tell me which ninja village you belong to?"
Anya replied with a calm smile, "No need to be so serious. I never intended to hide anything from you—I'm currently a Konoha ninja."
Faced with such honesty and openness from Anya, Mabui felt even more puzzled. However, upon hearing the word "Konoha," she instinctively asked, "Then do you know a ninja named Minato Namikaze?"
"Of course I know him. Why? Are you interested in learning about him?"
Mabui immediately blurted out, "What is his most proficient ninjutsu?"
So that's how it is, Anya mused. A squad of Kumogakure ninjas had faced off against an enraged Minato and were completely wiped out—he must have been placed on their top Kill List. No wonder this pretty girl was after intelligence on him.
Anya said with a meaningful tone, "He's the most outstanding ninja to rise in Konoha in recent years. I can give you a full intelligence report on him."
Understanding the implication behind Anya's words, Mabui smiled slightly. "What do you require in return?"
Now that the groundwork was laid, it was time for the real questions to begin. Anya responded, "Simple enough—an equal exchange. Let me answer your previous question first: Minato Namikaze's most proficient jutsu is called [Flying Thunder God Technique]."
[Flying Thunder God Technique]—Mabui repeated the name twice silently, feeling quite puzzled. In previous battles against Konoha, she'd never encountered any ninja using such a technique.
That was only natural. Its earliest known use dates back to the First Great Ninja War. Given Mabui's age, there was no way she could have witnessed it before.
After finishing, Anya immediately asked, "Now it's my turn to ask—you, what exactly is your ability?"
"What ability?" Mabui feigned ignorance, attempting to bluff her way through.
Anya watched her calmly and said, "Killer Bee told me a lot about Kumogakure earlier. Are you sure you want to play hard to get?"
At this, Mabui gritted her teeth slightly and reluctantly replied, "[Heavenly Transfer Technique]."
Anya was completely baffled—what a strange technique; she'd never even heard of it before.
"What's the function of this technique?"
Mabui answered irritably, "Yunbai, right now it's my turn to ask questions."
Anya chuckled in disbelief. "Oh, sorry. Please go ahead and ask."
Mabui didn't hold back and quickly asked, "What does the [Flying Thunder God Technique] do? What damage can it cause to a ninja? And how can it be countered?"
Anya teased, "Is that really just one question?"
Mabui blushed slightly and pouted playfully, "C'mon, spill it."
When someone gives you those puppy eyes, resistance is futile. Anya waved her hand dismissively and said, "Alright. The [Flying Thunder God Technique] is a type of Space–Time Ninjutsu. The user leaves a Mark on the target beforehand. This Mark enables either the user or any object connected to the user's Chakra to instantly teleport. As for countering it… well, I honestly don't know."
Figuring out how the [Flying Thunder God Technique] works is easy — actually countering it? Not so much. Once marked, unless you stay awake and never use the restroom, you'll eventually find yourself in mortal danger.
