Chapter 395 - Chapter 395: Two and a Half Years

Anya downed the poison in one gulp. As Kurenai Yuhi watched with hopeful eyes, Anya's face began shifting colors—alternating between red and blue—and even started emitting smoke from her head. Something was clearly wrong.

Realizing something wasn't right, Kurenai Yuhi asked in alarm and suspicion, "Is this potion poisoned?"

Taking a deep breath, Anya asked first, "You'd better tell me what you two talked about."

After hearing everything from Kurenai Yuhi about their conversation, Anya understood Tsunade's intentions. Tsunade wasn't kidding around—she'd gone all out, hitting her with a dangerously heavy dose and not even flinching at the risk of killing me.

The toxicity of this poison was more than ten times stronger than the last time they met on Tsunokoe Street. A regular Kage-level ninja hit by this would be finished. Across the entire Ninja World, besides the late Hashirama, only she herself would dare to ingest it. It might have even been specially prepared for her.

The moment the poison hit her stomach, Anya could clearly feel toxins spreading through her body instantly, her cellular activity immediately suppressed as mixed poisons erupted violently within her, causing the constant color shifts across her face.

Kurenai Yuhi grabbed Anya's hand. "Are you going to be okay? I'll go ask the Hokage for an antidote right away."

Anya stopped her from leaving with a shake of her head. "I'll be fine. The damage is limited. Once the poison fully spreads, it will gradually get expelled from my system."

Hearing that, Kurenai Yuhi relaxed slightly, but her eyes soon took on an unusual glint.

"What are you planning?" Anya felt a chill run down her spine under Kurenai's gaze.

"So it really works?" Kurenai whispered with a sultry smile, her eyes gleaming seductively. Her hands had already moved to Anya's collar.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Anya chuckled weakly. "Right now, I don't have any strength left at all."

Kurenai Yuhi blushed slightly, yet determination shone in her eyes. Suddenly, she pushed Anya onto her back and boldly whispered, "Don't worry. You just lie there. Let me take care of everything."

Before falling over, Anya was shocked by Kurenai's boldness. At the same time, she caught sight of two pairs of prying eyes watching from the window, making her wish the ground would swallow her whole. But very soon, intense sensory stimulation overwhelmed her thoughts.

Well then, if resistance was impossible, she could only silently enjoy.

After a night of unbridled chaos, whether it worked or not—only they knew. In any case, Kurenai didn't leave her house for several days; apparently, she had gotten taught a proper lesson. As for how exactly she was disciplined remains known only to the two involved.

A month later, Kurenai Yuhi returned to the hospital. The test results confirmed her pregnancy, and overcome with joy, she burst in with the joyous news to share it with Anya.

From then on, Anya became even more firmly rooted at home while Kurenai Yuhi officially stepped back from frontline duties, no longer leaving the village for missions.

As for Team 7: Naruto had gone off somewhere and hadn't returned yet. Sakura, who already had foundational Medical Ninjutsu skills, became Tsunade's apprentice, training hard every day to enhance her abilities so she could find Sasuke sooner.

As for Hakuto, he had since been promoted to Chunin. He frequently undertook solo missions, completing them with blazing efficiency. At this rate, promotion to Jonin seemed imminent.

Of course, Hakuto didn't yet know that every time she went out, an Anbu member followed her like a shadow, constantly ensuring her safety. Yet after so many missions, the Anbu had never actually been needed once.

As for Orochimaru, Anya had already made contact. A videotape showing Sasuke's training would arrive roughly every three months. Compared to his days in Konoha, Sasuke's training under Orochimaru was far more brutal but also far more effective—it pushed his potential to the absolute limit. From those tapes, it was clear that Sasuke's strength was skyrocketing.

The tapes weren't free, though. Orochimaru asked Anya for something in return.

Anya happily agreed. Originally, he had planned to personally train Sasuke, but now that the Serpent Master was willing to take on that task, he was more than grateful. He recorded all eight forms of the sword art into a scroll as payment for the videotapes.

Each time a tape arrived, Mikoto would be at her happiest—able to clearly witness her child's growth. Even better than that, there was one time when Anya risked everything just to obtain a recording of Itachi as well.

When Mikoto saw it, she immediately burst into tears. Compared to Sasuke, Itachi bore far heavier burdens. He carried the blood of the entire clan upon him, had been branded a rogue ninja, joined a sinister organization, and lived in constant darkness. Almost every day, Mikoto feared receiving news of his death.

Time passed like flowing water. Anya's two children were born one after another. Haku successfully gave birth to a boy—Bai. Soon after, Kurenai also had a daughter named Rainbow. Naturally, this name was chosen by Kurenai Yuhi. Anya secretly asked why she chose such a name. Her answer was simple: she wanted to thank Tsunade for the Rainbow Pill she had previously given, so she decided to name the child "Rainbow."

After Hakuto had younger siblings, she wasn't sent on missions as frequently as before. Instead, she especially enjoyed playing with the two kids. Both children obeyed her without question whenever they were around her, never making a fuss. This became a point of envy for both mothers, while Anya could only mutter in admiration—perhaps it was just natural dominance from being the older sister.

In the blink of an eye, two and a half years had passed. As Anya lay basking in the sunlight, eyes slightly narrowed, he watched from afar as Hakuto played with her younger brother and sister. Don't be fooled by their small size—they were already walking steadily, cheerfully babbling as they followed Hakuto around, clearly having a great time.

A warm feeling stirred in Anya's heart—until two letters arrived.

The first came from Sasori. The new Chunin Exams were about to begin. After talks between several allied villages, Sunagakure Village was chosen as the host for this year's exams. Of course, that wasn't the real point. More importantly, Pain from the Akatsuki Organization believed the organization had now reached its ideal number of members. His Six Paths of Pain were still missing one to complete the set. Therefore, the organization was officially assigning plans for capturing the Tailed Beasts. Han, the Jinchuriki of the Two-Tails, had already been captured by Pain. Using Phantom Dragon: Nine Seals Technique, the beast had been successfully extracted and sealed within the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path. From here on, further operations would gradually commence.

The second letter came from Genzo—and it was also related to the upcoming Chunin Exams.

Sasori ordered Fuu to go to Sunagakure Village for the exam, which made Genzo very uneasy. However, he dared not defy the order and sent two Jonin to accompany Fuu to Sunagakure Village, while he himself came to the outskirts of a small town near Konoha, requesting to speak with me.

After reading the two letters, Anya lit a flame in her hand. Her lazy demeanor disappeared in an instant as she shot to her feet, standing tall as an invisible aura surged into the sky. The Blade of Indifference, long unsheathed, seemed to sense its master's shift in mood and began emitting a low continuous buzzing sound.

Anya gently stroked the blade, calming its Sword Force, murmuring to herself: "[The Hayate Legend] has finally begun, huh."
