Chapter 136 - Chapter 136

Creed stared at Magellan and slowly drew Rinne.

[Name]: Magellan

[Attributes]: Strength: SSS, Agility: SSS–, Endurance (Defense): SSS–, Spirit: SS+

[Abilities]: SSS+ Armament Haki, SS+ Fist Technique, SS Observation Haki, SSS– Physical Technique, SS Rokushiki

[Devil Fruit / Special Ability]: Poison-Poison Fruit (initial awakening)

[Overall Strength]: SSS+

Scanning Magellan's stats left Creed slightly stunned.

Judging purely by attributes, Magellan's power barely scratched SSS+, closer to average SSS.

But the system classified him as SSS+, which meant the Poison-Poison Fruit's bonus was far from ordinary. Creed's caution rose.

Magellan also fixed his gaze on Creed. He didn't strike immediately, but purple poison clouds billowed from every part of his body.

Creed's feats were simply too shocking — Magellan couldn't take him lightly.

Turning the battlefield into a poisonous domain, his home ground, was the safest path.

Seeing their warden preparing, Hannyabal and the others dared not linger. They chased after Redfield instead.

Knowing how deadly Magellan's poison was, Redfield shifted his fight far away to avoid collateral damage.

Hannyabal shouted after him:

"You old relic! Running away because you know you're done for? Director Creed isn't coming to save you this time! Even if Magellan is ugly, useless, and always has diarrhea, he can still deal with Director Creed! Keep running, and I'll stop holding back!"

Sadi-chan rolled her eyes.

"Vice Warden, keep insulting him like that, and you'll be reassigned to patrol Freezing Hell again."

Hannyabal pretended not to hear, raising his bloodsucking blade.

"Everyone, together! Redfield may be strong, but we have numbers!"

Then — silence.

From above came a familiar sound.

"Ying ying ying…"

Plop! Plop!

Thud! Thud!

At the sound, the jailer beasts — the rhino, the cow, the koala — all dropped their massive clubs and bolted, unstoppable even under Domino's whip.

Simple-minded as they were, once confronted with their greatest fear, instinct took over: flee.

"It's just Director Creed's little pet, right? Cute as can be, what's so scary abou—AH! You guys… you're right!"

Hannyabal scoffed at first, seeing only Falkor, the little dragon. But the next instant, he was fried into twitching convulsions by bolts of lightning, smoke rising from his head.

Falkor's strength had grown — lightning now leapt freely from its body, striking wherever it willed, precise and devastating.

"This is bad. Let's fall back, Vice Warden."

Sadi-chan, seeing her superior one-shotted, didn't dare press the fight. She'd even played happily with Falkor before; killing it wasn't in her heart. And Redfield stood nearby.

"Too late."

Domino tried to cover herself with Armament Haki, but a flash of red light dropped her unconscious instantly. Sadi-chan too.

Both, one at S+ and the other SS, were utterly helpless before Redfield.

"Hmph! Even if you defeat us, you won't escape. The lift key is with Magellan!"

Hannyabal jeered from the floor, but Falkor zapped him again, sending him into spasms.

"Oh, then we'll just wait. No problem."

Redfield folded his arms, utterly unhurried.

"Haha! We already informed Marine HQ! You're not escaping! Go back to your cell now, and I'll guarantee ten weeks of gourmet meals… ahhh!"

Falkor fried him again, then again, until he slipped in and out of consciousness, screaming.

Hearing that HQ was alerted, Redfield grew solemn. He raised his hand and slashed upward — a pale red arc tearing through dozens of meters of stone.

Boom!

Debris flew, but what it revealed made him frown: a thick layer of alloy, forged of unknown material. His slash, strong enough to shear meters of solid rock, only scored a shallow groove.

Impel Down truly was an iron fortress.

"If I had my weapon, I might test it… but forget it."

He shook his head and waited for Creed to seize Magellan's key.

On Creed's side—

Blub-blub-blub!

Magellan opened his mouth, spitting out colorful, shimmering bubbles that floated around him.

Poison Gas Bombs!

"You're too cautious!"

Creed slashed casually, testing his depth.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The bubbles burst, exploding the sword energy apart.

"Hm? Even sword energy is tainted? Devil Fruit — Paramecia Awakening: Assimilation!"

Creed noted in shock as fragments of his slash turned violet, dissolving into poisonous vapor.

"The String-String Fruit and Mochi-Mochi Fruit awakenings are nothing compared to this! Their assimilation still needs the user's drive for lethality — but this… this needs none! Because no one except Magellan can resist this poison!"

He realized he had given Magellan too much time.

The warden had held nothing back, unleashing awakening from the start.

"Thunder Slash!"

Creed's sword surged with 80% of his power. Even before it fell, arcs of lightning leapt in every direction, forming a barrier that burned away invading poison gas.

Boom!

The slash burst forth like a crescent moon.

Zzzzzap—Crackle!

Electric arcs followed, filling the chamber, evaporating the violet haze.

"Poison Dragon!"

Magellan countered, splitting three massive toxin-dragons from his body, lunging with fangs bared.

"Poison Channel!"

He slid to evade.

BOOM!!!

The dragons and lightning slash annihilated one another, spraying poison and sword-light across the chamber.

"This isn't good. If I don't end this fast, all of Level 6 will become his domain!"

Creed frowned at the walls, already melting into seeping poison under assimilation.

And worse — his last strike had only fed Magellan more "nutrients."
