After defeating Magellan, the other guards and jailers could no longer stop Creed. Before long, he reached Impel Down's first level above the sea.
There, waiting at the exit, sat a familiar figure: Admiral Kizaru.
At his table, a surveillance Den Den Mushi flickered, barely showing poisoned, broken images of Level 6. When he saw Creed and his group arrive, Kizaru clapped his hands and said:
"Yo yo… Creed-kun, you've gotten stronger again."
"Admiral Kizaru, you flatter me."
Creed knew this encounter wouldn't be peaceful, but instead of dread, excitement welled inside him. He had fought Aokiji and Akainu before, but never Kizaru. His development of the Glint-Glint Fruit was still incomplete—today was the perfect chance to learn from the original master.
"Your fruit ability must be some sort of copy power, right? To think you could even copy my Glint-Glint Fruit. Truly frightening…"
Kizaru's eyes narrowed, remembering Creed's Susanoo wielding light techniques that had crushed Magellan's Venom Demon.
Creed chuckled: "I've watched your battles many times, Admiral. So I just tried to imitate a little. You don't mind, do you?"
"I don't mind? Who'd believe that?!" Kizaru nearly cursed. Watching a video and then replicating a Logia power? Impossible!
"Creed-kun, I'll be honest. I can't stop you. You could leave… but Patrick Redfield must stay. If I let him escape, I'll lose my job."
His words stunned both Creed and Redfield. Leave Creed alone, but keep Redfield? Was justice so… selective?
Even more shocking: Creed was worth 2 billion, had turned Impel Down upside down, and yet—he could be released? Was Kizaru a revolutionary spy or just too lazy to care?
"Sorry, Borsalino. Redfield is my partner now. I'll never abandon him."
Creed's voice was firm. Kizaru's lips twisted:
"You're not like Garp at all—no sentiment, no compromise. Hmph."
He rolled his shoulders. "Fine then. Show me… how much of the real Glint-Glint Fruit you've learned."
"Don't worry, you'll be surprised, Borsalino."
Creed sent Redfield and Falkor to a safe distance.
"Creed-kun… have you ever been kicked at the speed of light?"
"Light-Speed Kick!"
Kizaru's leg shone with photons, striking so fast that even Redfield felt powerless to block it. The beam pierced Creed's head, exploding through the wall behind like a barrage of cannons. The first level's walls shattered, exposing the night sea beyond.
Redfield was stunned. That one kick alone carried the power to erase an island. So this… was an Admiral's strength.
But Creed's body blurred—elementalizing into light. He countered instantly, flashing toward Kizaru.
"I've never been kicked by light-speed… but you might, Borsalino!"
"Arrogant brat!" Kizaru laughed, answering kick for kick.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The two exchanged countless strikes, their light-speed blows tearing down walls and collapsing entire sections of the fortress. The first level crumbled, reduced to rubble in moments.
Marines and jailers screamed in terror. Some escaped by ship, others dove into the sea. Those too slow were incinerated by stray beams.
Above Impel Down, light blazed like a false dawn—brilliant, yet deadly. Even Redfield retreated to the outer gate, unwilling to be vaporized by stray rays.
"Hey! I thought this was supposed to be a spar! Why so serious, Borsalino?"
Creed was sweating. Kizaru's fruit wasn't just powerful—it was awakened. Creed's own wasn't.
Now, every beam Kizaru fired lingered, staying in place under his control. The entire fortress brimmed with golden light, each ray burning like a miniature sun. They obeyed Kizaru's will, converging on Creed endlessly.
The heat alone was suffocating—staying inside felt like being roasted alive, water evaporating from his body.
"So this is awakening…" Creed thought, shocked.
Just like Akainu and Aokiji had permanently altered climates with their fruits, Kizaru's light remained, shaping reality.
But how to break through?
He realized grimly—he was in real danger.
