Synopsis
Yuichi Takeda was just an ordinary senior high school student until he was suddenly enrolled in Genkyoso, an elite academy of magic, after accidentally unleashing his hidden magical potential. However, this turn of events proved to be a stroke of misfortune, as he now finds himself forced to fight against both factions at once: the Demon Tribe and the Atheist. At the same time, he must uncover the origins of magic itself and the events surrounding Japan’s internal conflict between those who support the use of magic (Japan) and those who oppose its very existence (the Japanese Communist Party).

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Goodbye to school.

The last days of the third year in high school, The classroom just became noisier. The sound of the students was still lively, but carried a very different mood. Yuichi Takeda now laying on the table, his eyes now having a vacant look outside the basketball court.

The morning sunsine rasing, Warm rays fell on his white shoulders. Takeda just shift his gaze to the table next to him and noticed that Kisame Shigura still asleep. "It would be better if she just woke up and thought about the school she's going to attend." He think about it. She always lives a carefree life after her parent passed away. Now she just live with Takeda's family.

Suddenly, Takeda lets out a faint smile. Turns out Kisame was only pretending to sleep to avoid being dragged to karaoke by the others after class. He never expected that, with her outgoing personality, she'd have no plans to go anywhere after today. At that moment, Kisame asks

"Hey bro, wanna play some CS later?"

"Nah, let's do it tomorrow. I'm thinking of grabbing something to eat now. I just ran out in such a rush this morning because I didn't even get breakfast."

"Nah, my treat."

"Then let's go"

When the hallway had emptied in the afternoon, Takeda began gathering scraps of paper and wiping the blackboard. Kisame, instead of heading home, quietly picked up a broom and started sweeping the floor.

"You know," Kisame suddenly spoke up, "I think… we might not see each other anymore."

Takeda paused and looked over. "Why do you say that?"

"Well… to be honest, after this year, each of us will go down a different path. I'm not sure if you and I will still get to meet again."

Takeda didn't answer right away. He bent down to pick up an eraser that had fallen under a desk, then said,

"But you're literally living at my house, bro."

"Oh… right."

And that's Kisame for you—always a bit of an airhead, and still the same now. Who knows how someone this clueless will manage in the future? But then again, that cluelessness is exactly what makes her so easy to befriend. Well, at least it's got its charm.

Honestly, reading this, you'd think I'm telling a rom-com. But trust me, this is a fantasy story with political lore darker than Vantablack. So just chill—later I'll throw in a plot twist for you.

A sharp scream rang out from the hallway. Kisame flinched and bolted forward. Takeda ran after her.

On the third floor, a male student was teetering on the balcony, his hands loosely gripping the iron railing, eyes wide with panic. A second later, the sound of metal snapping echoed through the air.

Without thinking, Takeda lunged forward, thrusting his hand out. A burst of blue light exploded in the air.

Time seemed to freeze. A soft mana net wrapped around the boy's body, pulling him back and lowering him gently onto the schoolyard like a falling leaf.

The light faded. The afternoon breeze swept through.

"W–what the hell just happened…?" Kisame stammered, her whole body trembling.

Takeda stared at his hand, breathing hard. Tiny specks of light still flickered in his palm, like blue embers.

"Seriously… since when did I have magic?"

The principal said nothing, only making a quick phone call. A moment later, he called out,

"Takeda, I need your help with something."

"What is it, sir?"

"Come with me to the storage room, I need to grab a few things."

Takeda hurried upstairs, following the principal to the storage room. As they arrived, Takeda asked,

"What are we even getting, si…"

Before he could finish, the principal struck him, knocking him unconscious.
