Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 The silver ingot is real

When she came out of the pawn shop, Xiao Yingchun felt like she was dreaming!

But when she opened her WeChat wallet and looked at the six thousand yuan inside, she was sure it was real.

Not only was the silver ingot real, it was also an ancient five-liang silver ingot.

The pawn shop owner immediately offered six thousand yuan, and then she received six thousand yuan in a daze.

The cost of two boxes of compressed biscuits was only three hundred yuan, and the net profit was five thousand seven hundred yuan?

  Huge profits!

Drug dealers would compete with her for business when they saw this!

Thinking of what the handsome guy said, "I'll come again next time", Xiao Yingchun was conflicted, whether to purchase the goods or not.

"Go to hell" or "be a poor ghost"?

She looked at the WeChat balance, made a phone call decisively, and directly purchased twenty boxes of compressed biscuits with mixed flavors and a few boxes of water.

She fought hard, what if she could turn her bicycle into a motorcycle if she took a gamble.

To succeed, you must go crazy first, and rush forward regardless of everything!

  ...

Fu Chenan stood at the door of the store holding two boxes of biscuits, feeling it was unreal.

He glanced. The strange door curtain was still there, but the scene inside was unclear. Yet, his hand felt heavy.

  It wasn't an illusion.

Half-believing, half-doubting, Fu Chen'an carried the biscuits back to the city on the edge of the desert. The general's tent was set up in the central square.

The area had been largely destroyed by the war.

As he walked, Fu Chen'an ordered, "Send Doctor Niu over."

Doctor Niu was stunned when he saw the compressed biscuits in front of Fu Chen'an. "This is..."

Fu Chen'an pulled out a package of compressed biscuits, tore it open, and handed it to him. "Please check. Is this poisonous?"

Doctor Niu was bewildered, but he did as he was told.

He sniffed it, licked it, and then soaked it in a bowl of water for a thorough examination. Then, he exclaimed in surprise, "Major General, it's non-toxic and edible. It's delicious. Where did you get this?"

Doctor Niu looked at Fu Chen'an with admiration.

Ever since the army reached Yongzhou City, the sky was filled with yellow sand and they were short of food and water.

With insufficient supplies and Yongzhou unable to be taken, the army was caught in a dilemma.

Fu Chen'an immediately ordered, "Have each team gather their silver and follow me to purchase this stuff."

The deputy general turned to carry out the order.

Doctor Niu, however, seemed to have heard divine revelation: "Purchase? Did we buy this stuff?"

Fu Chen'an nodded. "Yes, I bought it in a small alley."

Doctor Niu was incredulous. "A small alley? Are there any merchants in this town?"

The deputy general looked worried. "General, we've never seen anything like this. Besides, this place has been destroyed. The people have all fled. Where are the merchants?"

"Anything out of the ordinary is a demon, General. Be careful!"

  Everyone began to persuade him.

Fu Chen'an looked at his two deputies. "Then what other ways can you get food and water?"

The deputy general closed his cracked mouth, his silence deafening.

Everyone fell silent. In their current predicament, they could only take a gamble.

There was the sound of footsteps and the rustling of armor, and everyone looked outside. The marshal had returned.

Fu Zhonghai, a middle-aged man with an imposing presence, immediately glanced at the cardboard box on the table.

"I heard you were collecting money to buy something?"

Fu Chen'an saluted with his arms crossed. "Father, I just bought this from a small alley..."

Doctor Niu immediately added, "It's edible and non-toxic."

Fu Zhonghai looked at the strange cardboard box and the biscuits inside, and said without further ado, "Take a team and go take a look."     "Yes!"

Fu Chenan agreed immediately and walked into the alley with thirty fully armed men.

Standing in front of the strange door curtain, Fu Chenan waved his hand: "Go in!"

Fu Chenan walked in first, and the thirty people followed.

The next moment, Fu Chenan was surprised that he was the only one who came in.

  Where are they?

The soldiers went in and stood in the ruins, looking at each other.

Where are the shops and merchants?

  No, where is their general!

The soldiers panicked and searched everywhere.

But there was nothing but broken walls and ruins!

While everyone was anxious, the captain decisively ordered: "Leave half of the people here, and the other half go back with me and report to the marshal!"

  "Yes!"

Everyone was about to act, but saw Fu Chenan walking out of the door again, with a confused look on his face, "Why don't you go in?"

  Everyone's hair stood on end.

The captain swallowed his saliva and suppressed his fear, "General... we went in, there were only ruins inside... no you..."

Fu Chenan was confused, "How could it be? Try again."

  Something is wrong.

Fu Chen'an led the others in a few more attempts, and the results were unsuccessful.

He vaguely understood that perhaps only he could see the situation. He took the silver and copper coins he'd found and walked back inside. He

  bumped into Xiao Yingchun.

She'd heard the backdoor sensor beep "Welcome" several times.

The repetition had infuriated her, and she'd gotten up to check. She

'd run into Fu Chen'an and been startled by the knife in his hand.

She laughed dryly and backed away. "You... you're here..."

Seeing her frightened gaze fixed on the knife, Fu Chen'an instinctively explained, "I'm here to buy something."

He then placed the silver and copper coins, wrapped in a grayish-yellow sheepskin, on the counter. "How much can these buy for the bread and water from last time?"

Xiao Yingchun surveyed the scattered silver, ingots, and copper coins on the counter, her eyes drawn to two silver ingots.

These were larger than the last ones!

Adding to the silver and copper coins...

Xiao Yingchun swallowed, trying to remain calm as she gestured towards the twenty boxes of compressed biscuits and water that had just arrived in the corner.

"Take them all, this is all we have for now..."

Fu Chenan nodded, grasping the key point: "Then next time I come, can you prepare more? Fifty boxes of each?"

Xiao Yingchun said without hesitation: "No problem, you can come and pick them up tomorrow."

Twenty boxes of compressed biscuits, twenty boxes of mineral water of various brands. Xiao Yingchun felt guilty and gave him a few boxes of instant noodles and a few cans of luncheon meat in the warehouse at the back. After thinking about it, he gave him a bottle of Erguotou.

Fu Chenan sheathed the knife and carried it several times with long arms and legs before moving it out the back door.

After everything was taken away and everyone left, Xiao Yingchun swallowed his saliva.

  Close the door!

  Go to the pawnshop!
