Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO

Ava's POV

I had just returned from abroad five months ago after my master's degree. I came directly from the airport just to surprise my dad.

No one knew I was coming, and since no one knew what I looked like, they didn't know I was Ava Sterling. I was made to wait at the reception while my dad's office confirmed my visit.

I bumped into Daniel on my way to the restroom to reapply my lipstick. He was cleaning, and I fell deeply in love with him at first sight.

"I'm sorry, Miss," I remember him apologizing to me. He looked so attractive even in his uniform. His toned muscles popped out well, and I stood there in a daze, staring at me for minutes.

"It's fine… I really don't mind." I said, taking a pause in between my words. He didn't say anything and just looked down at his feet.

"What's your name?" I asked him, and he glanced up at me before looking away.

"Daniel.." He replied.

"Nice name, I'm Ava. Is it okay if we are friends?" I asked him, and he chuckled.

"Why would an high class lady such as yourself want to be friends with me? I'm just a cleaner." He said humbly, and my heart swelled with love for him.

But my heart also sank at the same time. If he doesn't know who I am and already thinks like this. I had wondered what he would do if he found out I was Ava Sterling?

"High class lady? Where did you get that from?" I laughed softly.

"I'm just a waitress at a five-star restaurant." I quickly lied and said whatever came to my mind at that time.

"Really? A waitress?" He asked and took a look at my outfit.

"You know what? Just give me your number, so we can talk some other time. I have to get back to work, and I'm sure that's the same for you." I said to him, and he nodded his head. He gave me his number reluctantly, and I quickly rushed down to my dad's office.

We began our relationship, and I've been able to hide my true status from him ever since. I even had to get cheaper things to wear so he wouldn't suspect a thing.

I heaved a deep sigh as my ringing phone ushered me back to the present.

"Hey… I'm coming right out." I said to the taxi that came to pick me up.

My dad had my car tracked, and that was how he found out I was meeting with Daniel. He suspended my driver, and now I have to use a taxi.

Twenty minutes later, I arrived at the restaurant where I'm supposed to be working.

After I was done with my shift, I made way to the regular area where Daniel was already waiting for me.

"Hey Daniel." I kissed him on the cheek.

"Hey Babe… You look beautiful as always." He complimented me, and I blushed.

"Thank you, we should order some food. I'm really hungry." I said, and Daniel's face fell.

"What's the problem?" I asked him.

"I really wish we could order food, but I can't afford the food here." He said, and I nodded my head.

"Who said we are paying? I really did well at work today, and my boss gave me a voucher. So I can order whatever I want for a day. Today is a really good day to use it, don't you think?" I asked, and his face lit up.

I felt happy seeing him like that. We ordered the food, and we both ate, talking and giggling as we did that.

"I can't wait to leave my job and get a start to my own company. It's what's I've always wanted. I've been saving up to build some models I can use to build my portfolio. I'm sure I will get many bids, I'm very talented." Daniel explained.

"Of course you are. And if you want, I can lend you some money to do that. You know I make quite a sum here, and I don't spend much, so I have some money saved up." I suggested.

"Really? I don't want to be such a burden." He hesitated.

"Of course not. You would do the same for me if I were you." I said, and Daniel stood up to kiss me on the forehead.

After we spent a while together. I decided to go home, I had told Daniel I lived with my aunt, and she's a strict one.

******

The following morning, I woke up to my phone ringing off the hook. My phone was buzzing and vibrating so much that I thought it would explode.

"Hello…" I connected the call and spoke. My voice trailed off as I still felt sleepy.

"Daniel!!" I exclaimed in shock to hear him crying over the phone.

"What!!!" I jolted up.

"Let me call you back in a few minutes." I said to him and ended the call.

I stormed out of my room and headed downstairs. It's quite early, and I'm sure my parents are still having breakfast, and dad would be going to work any time soon.

"Dad!!!" I yelled, calling out my father. I got to the dining hall, and he was there eating with my mom.

"Dad, why would you do something like this?" I asked, and he stopped what he was doing to look at me.

"What's going on, Ava?" My mom asked, and I could tell that she had no idea what was happening.

"Well Dad, Daniel just called me now crying. He was fired from work, and I'm sure this didn't just happen. You have something to do about it." I said, tears streaming down my eyes.

"I told you to leave that boy alone. But you refused to listen to me. That's what you get for disobeying me. I knew you went out last night to me with him." Dad said, and I staggered back.

"If you really love this boy like you claimed. Then you will leave him alone, cause I'm going to do more than just fire him next time." Dad threatened.
