Chapter 152 - Chapter 152: Player Complaints

Chapter 152: Player Complaints

As a cross-platform game, It Takes Two is quite extensive. However, the complete process, not counting replaying mini-games, takes about 12 hours.

When the first wave of players completed it, the content generated a lot of discussion.

"Honestly, this is probably the most fun game of the year so far, right?"

"I totally agree. And I think it's definitely the most fun game in recent years, not just this year. And if we analyze it in two-player cooperative mode, I think it could easily be number one!"

"+1, this game is awesome! Each level has a different theme and unique props: it's incredible!"

"Yes, it's like watching an animated movie!"

"And most importantly, the gameplay is incredibly diverse. From the first level to the last, the props and level design are simply amazing."

"Haha, that's right! I had a great time playing with my girlfriend! This time, Alex wasn't lying!"

"Yes, Love Warrior has finally created a touching game!"

"Yeah, the story was really touching until the end."

"Exactly, exactly. Especially the ending, with the shots of all the objects found, it's simply incredible."

"But that scene where they destroyed the little elephant was really heartbreaking."

"In fact, that scene almost made my girlfriend quit the game."

"F***, you were really playing with your girlfriend!"

"But by the way, do any of you remember the rhino beetle in the tree? I promised him nectar, but why did the beehive explode?"

"2333333, if they hadn't told me, I would have forgotten. The most miserable character, the rhino beetle!" "Haha, the forgotten rhino beetle, that's too pathetic."

Rhino beetle: 'Haha, I may not be human, but you guys are real dogs! Are you really just a weirdo, huh?'.

On the Nebula Games platform, It Takes Two has a rating of 9.8. Almost all players have unanimously praised it for its content and gameplay.

As for some negative reviews, and others that exploit memes, they mainly focus on a controversial plot point: the scene where Cody and May, believing that their daughter Rose's tears are the antidote, forcefully destroy "Cutie," the pink elephant.

Many players have expressed their deep dismay. After all, the elephant princess Cutie is truly harmless in the game. However, for May and Cody to ruin her innocent and adorable childhood is truly unacceptable.

Many players sympathize with Rose and the elephant Cutie, and consider the parents Cody and May truly despicable. Just like the space monkey, as a toy, knows how to prevent Rose from being sad, but Rose's parents, Cody and May, use methods to make Rose sad.

However, some players expressed compassion for Cody and May. After all, from a plot and character perspective, how could they stay calm when May and Cody suddenly went from being human to puppets and clay figures?

If they felt they had found the right approach, they would undoubtedly pursue it. Additionally, they weren't really trying to do anything to Rose; they simply wanted to make her cry.

Every parent has seen a child beaten to tears. Concluding that Cody and May do not love their daughter based solely on this is completely unreasonable. After all, the game's conversations reveal that May works outside the home and often works overtime, but she still remembers her daughter's dentist appointments.

Cody, although he is a stay-at-home husband, forgets to take Rose to the dentist at the beginning of the game, but he is still deeply concerned about her. The Lego castle in the game was built by Cody for his daughter.

If there's anything wrong with Cody and May, it's a certain self-indulgence, whether with their partner or with their own child.

This is their biggest problem.

Of course, this is just a debate among players who are more concerned with the plot. There were also some serious players who focused on other things.

"So no one pays attention to Rose? Don't you think this game, if you look at it from another perspective, goes from being a fun game to a terrifying horror game in an instant?"

"Haha, that seems to be true now! My parents mysteriously fall into a deep sleep and can't wake up, and paranormal events happen at home. What is the real reason for all this? Don't miss the 'Bringing Science Closer' segment tonight!"

"My daughter was at home quietly, and suddenly the vacuum cleaner exploded, the toolbox broke, her favorite toy fell from the sky, the cuckoo clock was repaired, the withered flowers in the garden suddenly revived, and a spooky sound came from the phonograph on the second-floor mezzanine. Oh my God! It's terrifying to think about!"

"Enough! At first it was a fun game, but you're making my hair stand on end!"

In addition to these details, the off-game experience also generated a lot of player complaints.

The game's theme is about mending relationships. The characters are a man and a woman, and the game is cooperative for two players. Announced on Valentine's Day, it is clearly tagged as a game for couples.

But the problem is, where are all those couples? Or rather, many players, not just women, even many solo players, play alone!

In addition, as an adventure game, It Takes Two requires more than just tacit cooperation, and some levels also require some skill. Thus, the online conversation began to change.

At first, everyone praised the level design and the integration of the thematic art style with the story. But over the next two or three days, as more players completed it, all sorts of strange complaints began to emerge. This earned it great recognition.

The main forums and the game's own review sections were filled with comments like:

"What great value for money! For only $29.20, it's on par with the big boys. The only thing I regret is not having women!"

"It's a masterpiece, but I hated my wife for being such a coward, so I left her and played with my friends for two days. Guys, do you think I did the right thing?"

"It's a good game, but the title doesn't completely convince me. Others play 'It Takes Two,' while I play 'It Takes Men'."

"Help! I played this with a good friend from the dorm, and now he looks at me funny, and he always has to drag me to the shower!"
