Chapter 169: Players Might Be a Little Excited

In the fifth exhibition area of the Game Expo, many staff members were busy. Unlike last year's exhibition, the Nebula Games booth had moved to the third exhibition area this year. After all, with Dark Souls and It Takes Two, Nebula Games' current popularity and reach could no longer be considered an independent game company.

Aether Games and NetDragon, like last year, each occupied a separate exhibition area. The third exhibition area was mainly occupied by second and third-tier game companies. The size of the booths was evenly distributed, and the Nebula Games booth space was roughly the same as last year.

"It seems that these surrounding game companies really value us!" exclaimed Jane, who was setting up the booth.

After she finished speaking, Lisa chimed in: "Yes, it seems they have their sights on us. There were even designers who came to gather information!"

"It's mainly because Alex took all the attention last year," said Lynn, who was nearby, with a smile.

"But this year it seems we're only here for a short time. The only thing we can bring is a trailer for the Dark Souls prequel," Jane lamented.

"It's unavoidable. We're running out of time, and Alex released Silent Hill PT ahead of schedule. Otherwise, if it were at this expo, the fans would be so surprised!" Lisa lamented.

Some cosplayers rehearsing for their upcoming performances were surprised to hear this, their dance steps completely wrong. Most of these cosplayers are gamers, so naturally, they couldn't be unfamiliar with Silent Hill PT, the game that has been touted as the most terrifying demo online lately.

Although some haven't downloaded the game, they have seen it through video game content, videos, and live streams. Presenting it at the expo would be a real surprise for fans.

As the group was getting ready, they saw Alex and Eric, along with a group of employees, pushing a small cart towards the entrance of the booth.

"Hey! Alex, are these new cosplay accessories? Why are they so weird?".

"Yeah! Why do they feel so strange? Inflatable sledgehammers, water tank-shaped sofas, what are these things?".

Jane, Lisa, and the others were very curious to see the accessories that Alex and Eric had brought. The accessories that arrived on the cart looked custom-made. There were four dark sofas that looked like large water tanks, about 80 centimeters high, barely reaching Eric's inner thighs. Inside each water tank-shaped sofa was a large sledgehammer, the type used on construction sites to tear down walls; inflatable, of course.

Seeing this strange scene, everyone felt a little curious.

"I took some time these last few days to create a small game with Eric, and we are opening the exhibition area to complete the number of participants. These are the accessories for the small game, to increase the player's sense of immersion," explained Alex with a smile.

"Really?". Jane and Lisa suddenly understood.

However, some were also curious about the type of game Alex had created. To Jane and Lisa's questions, Alex simply spread his hands and smiled, remaining silent.

Meanwhile, Eric, looking at the four large water tank-shaped sofas and the four hammers in front of him, seemed hesitant to speak. After thinking for a moment, Eric quietly approached the exhibition staff to speak. "Could we have more security guards to maintain order at our booth tomorrow? The players might be very excited".

The security guard in front of him was clearly a Dark Souls fan. Hearing Eric's words and seeing the game's logo on his chest, he immediately smiled and said: "No problem! I get it! A demo of the Dark Souls prequel, right? The players must be excited, it's been so long!".

Seeing the security guard's smile, even with a hint of anticipation, Eric's expression became complicated.

'A demo? Is there such a thing? And your idea of player excitement is completely different from what he describes!'.

On the day of the exhibition, just like last year, this year's Game Expo was crowded. Many local players from the city came to the expo, and some even came from other places to try out new games.

At the entrance of the exhibition, many players were discussing. This year, NetDragon and Aether Games, the two game developers, had few major successes. Except for some of their external studios, they did not release any blockbuster hits. However, they remained the preferred choices for most players, given their wide selection of games.

Nebula Games also had a significant influx of players at the event. Alex had previously announced on his official blog that he would release the latest news about the sequel at the Game Expo. Added to the recent online buzz around Silent Hill PT, Nebula Games has also attracted considerable attention.

Of course, there are still some loyal Nebula fans.

"I wonder what Alex will bring to this year's expo!", asked Mike with some anticipation.

"A game like Silent Hill PT!", exclaimed Sarah, who was standing next to him.

"Any news is fine, but not a horror game," said the tall, robust Tom.

"By the way, aren't Ethan and Chloe coming this year?", asked Sarah curiously.

"Chloe broke her leg and can't come, and Ethan is on a business trip this month and can't take time off," Tom explained.

However, upon arriving at the Nebula Games booth, Mike, Tom, and the others were a little confused. There were too many people. The entire exhibition hall was crowded, and while security was maintaining order, everyone was diligently lining up.

'But the number of people was overwhelming!'.

From a distance, the stage looked practically empty, except for the promoters and cosplayers. But Mike and the others soon discovered the reason.

After the opening cosplayer performance, a familiar figure approached.

"Hello everyone!", Alex took the microphone and greeted the players with a smile.

Many of those present greeted him back.

"I finally see you, Alex!".

"When will you announce the Dark Souls prequel?".

"Is Silent Hill PT just a demo?".

...the players asked.

Alex asked for silence and then continued: "I believe this is the main reason you came here!".

As he finished his words, the players erupted in cheers. An icon was shown on the large screen behind her. The bonfire with the spiral sword from Dark Souls! A half-knelt undead figure in armor in front of the bonfire gradually took shape.

As the image played on the screen, the players' voices faded, and only the background music from the exhibition area speakers could be heard. The video did not end there, and the bonfire continued to burn. As the flames blazed, the image began to distort and blur. The undead figure kneeling on the ground in front of him gradually disappeared and finally became a white mist.

The next instant, amid the uncontrollable cheers of the players, an old narration voice appeared.
