It took Hayato a full morning to get used to his body, which felt twenty years younger. He finally accepted the fact that he had transmigrated.
Just six hours earlier, Hayato was a "sorcerer" selling "magic Pokémon" on TaoBao. He had just received a massive custom order for three hundred perfect, 6IV Pokémon.
He was about to pull an all-nighter to edit them when, after finishing the first one, his vision went black. When he opened his eyes again, he was in this new world.
After a few tense moments watching a thirty-centimeter green worm crawl across his stiff body, Hayato was finally certain: he had transmigrated to the world of Pokémon.
As a fan of the series and a loner in his old world, transmigrating to a world he loved should have been a dream come true. But his current predicament made it impossible to get excited.
Seriously! Other people Transmigrate into big cities, but I got dropped straight into the middle of nowhere! A few minutes ago, I barely escaped a Caterpie habitat, and now stumbled into a dense thicket of Beedrill!
Everyone knows that Beedrill are aggressive, irritable, and fiercely territorial. If anyone wanders into their territory, they'll be attacked 99.9% of the time.
Staring at the Beedrill with its red eyes and two large, thick white stingers glinting menacingly in the shadows, Hayato couldn't help but swallow hard.
If those stingers hit me, My Pokémon Trainer journey would be over before it even began.
"Bzzzz!"
A strange buzzing sound came from the Beedrill's mouthparts. Hayato was sure it wasn't a friendly coo. Sure enough, the surrounding bushes rustled, and pairs of ruby-like eyes appeared in the shadows.
Hayato ran for his life, the sound of Beedrill's wings buzzing right behind him.
When he saw a fork in the path ahead, he had a sudden feeling he was playing Temple Run.
"Pshhh!"
A sharp pain in his waist brought Hayato crashing back to reality. Sobbing internally, he realized a Beedrill had hit him with its stinger. It hurt so much!
This is it. The end of the line, he thought dramatically.
But just then, a river appeared to his left. Hayato was so thrilled he almost cried with joy. He changed direction and dove in headfirst. At that moment, he was incredibly thankful for the swimming lessons he'd taken before he transmigrated.
As the river water rushed into his ears and nose, Hayato held his breath and fumbled for something solid. Opening his eyes, he saw a dazed Pokémon with a body covered in red scales struggling against the current.
Wait, is that a Magikarp?
Startled by being grabbed, the Magikarp thrashed, and Hayato lost his grip. The next moment, he experienced the full force of what it felt like to be repeatedly slapped in the face by cold, icy rain.
Hayato's eyes teared up from the blows, and to make things worse, he couldn't surface. He could see the group of Beedrill still hovering above the water, clearly not ready to give up the chase.
He couldn't stay here. Holding his breath, Hayato began swimming with the current. After swimming about ten meters, he surfaced for a quick breath before diving back down.
He swam for an unknown amount of time, finally climbing out onto the bank once he was sure the hateful Beedrill weren't following him anymore.
Looking at the face reflected in the water, Hayato recognized himself at ten years old, even with twenty years gone.
Damn! I was handsome even at ten.
The frantic escape had left his clothes completely soaked. Hayato noticed the leaves on the trees were starting to turn yellow, so he guessed it was autumn.
He was still wearing the clothes from his old world: a white t-shirt with a blue athletic jacket and gray sweatpants.
Once he was sure it was safe, Hayato took off his clothes to check the wound from the Beedrill stinger. The clothes had blocked the attack, so the semi-transparent purple stinger hadn't fully punctured his skin.
Using a leaf, he pulled out the stinger. The skin around the puncture was a faint purple, and there was a burning sensation.
He had been poisoned.
Hayato felt a wave of despair. Pokémon lose stamina and become critically ill when poisoned, but what about humans? He didn't want to find out.
The grumbling of his stomach added to his misery. He was starving. Earlier, he had noticed fruit-like things growing on the trees, which he assumed were the "Berries" of this world.
Unlike normal fruits, different Berries had different effects. For example, Chesto Berries heal paralysis, Pecha Berries heal burns, and most importantly, Pecha Berries heal poison.
He just hoped the Berries would work on humans. Besides Berries, Hayato had also seen normal fish in the river. Just as he suspected, there were regular animals in the Pokémon world alongside the Pokémon themselves.
Hayato used his jacket as a pillow and lay down to rest, his body exhausted from the intense activity. He looked up at the clear sky through the trees.
The most important thing now was to get out of the forest, find a human settlement, and get an antidote. The forest was huge, and finding a Berry tree, let alone a Pecha Berry tree, was a long shot.
As he was thinking, he felt something hard poke his waist. He sat up, reached into his jacket pocket, and pulled out a small purple sphere. It must have been a hidden button, because as he touched it, the sphere grew in his hand, returning to its normal size.
Hayato froze when he saw what it was. The top half was purple, the bottom was white, and a white button with a large "M" was on the connecting band.
It was a Master Ball from the games.
How?
He tried pressing the button, and with a click, the Master Ball opened, and a beam of white light shot out. A Pokémon with orange feathers appeared in the light.
But it wasn't all orange; the feathers on its chest and around its neck were a bright white, like a napkin tucked into a collar.
"Gaack!"
The Pokémon, a Cramorant, supported its head with a wing and stared at Hayato with its dull, round eyes.
Hayato looked at it.
It looked at him.
In the next moment, a flood of information suddenly appeared in Hayato's mind.

!!!
Hayato was shocked. This was the first Pokémon he had just edited for a customer! A Cramorant, a Shiny Cramorant from the Galar region.
In the games, Cramorant's Pokédex entry says:
Cramorant may be forgetful, but it will never forget a Trainer it trusts. However, if its food is stolen, it will attack mercilessly, even if the offender is its Trainer.
Because this Cramorant was the first one he had used for testing, its six stats were absurdly high. The four moves it knew were also a joke Hayato had made.
Not only had this Cramorant transmigrated, but the editing software had come with it. He could see the information about it in his mind's eye!
