Chapter 2 - Ch.2 Myriad Worlds: Ancient World

In an ancient jungle, towering trees rustled with the wind as a group of hunters could be seen slowly moving through the bushes. They kept their steps and movement to a minimum as they stalked a large deer.

It was twice the size of a normal deer and had stone-like antlers. Although it fed on grass, it wasn't an animal to be messed with.

"Nexus, Nexus!"

A hushed voice called out as a young man woke up. Nexus looked around in confusion as he saw the robust and muscular man calling out to him. He could sense a hint of worry in his voice as he took in his surroundings.

Memories started to flood in as he understood the situation. His name was Nexus, a member of the hunter group of his tribe, and the one calling out to him was his father.

"I am alright, Father."

Nexus replied as he stood up The other hunters were still stalking the deer, while he was put to the side, resting on an ancient tree. He had fainted moments ago, so his father was quite worried.

"It's good you are alright. Didn't I tell you not to practice too much? Look at how weak you became, falling unconscious during a hunt. Do you know how dangerous such a thing is?"

Seeing that he was alright, his father started to rebuke him with anger. Nexus didn't say anything and just listened to his father's words in silence.

"Well, you are already an adult, so don't let such a thing happen again."

After saying that, his father walked toward the other hunters, lining up with them. He also took out his bow and aimed the arrow at the deer in the distance.

"Ready, Fire."

His father commanded as all of them released their arrow at the same time, ten arrows pierced through the sky as the deer reacted. But it was too slow as six of them managed to piece its body, one hitting its head, killing it in one blow.

"Hahah, Good Hunt."

Another young adult shouted as he rushed toward the fallen deer. The other hunters also smiled as the other one's could help but look at Nexus and tease.

"So are you feeling well, weak princess?"

"HAHAH"

Hearing his words, all the hunters laughed as Nexus just awkwardly scratched his head. He didn't sense any malice in their words, so he knew the old hunter spoke just to make the atmosphere more cheerful.

"Well, you can make fun of him in the village. Quickly pick up the deer; otherwise, its bloody scent will spread."

His father shouted as the hunters quickly started to move. Nexus also stood up to help, as this body was stronger than his main world self.

On the way to the village, Nexus quickly adjusted to his new memories. He is the current grandson of the village chief and son of the lead hunter. Quite a good start, after all, there was a chance he would have been sent to some dangerous area.

The Supreme Will will send the people to new worlds as a form of a newborn, but they will only awaken their memories when they reach their main world age. Before reaching the age, the body provided by the Supreme Will won't die.

From his memories, he can tell that he is in an Ancient world; there is no concept of kingdoms or empires in his memories. There are villages spread throughout the primary jungle, with the highest known entity being a city.

Due to his current high status, he also knows the power system of this world. It is a power system inclined toward Body Strength with only two known realms. These realms are Warrior and Protector.

His father and some other hunters are Warriors, and his grandfather is a Protector. He is also training, but he hasn't become a warrior yet. Though due to his training, he is stronger than an average adult.

'Supreme Will'

He called out in his mind as the world froze for a moment, a screen appeared before him. The screen was akin to that of a video game as he felt something change inside him.

With that, the world around him started to change. He looked at the hunters walking with measured steps and fell into enlightenment.

[Your Comprehension defies all the logic of the world. You watched the measured and silent steps of the hunters and learned the skill Silent Steps.]

A flash of insight passed as his body instinctively started to carry out the silent steps; his footsteps became silent, and even his body's sound couldn't be heard.

He looked at the deer whose wounds had stopped bleeding due to the medicines applied to it as he fell into another trance-like state.

[Your Comprehension defies all the logic of the world. You watched the technique to stop the bleeding and learned the way to quickly coagulate your blood at will.]

[Your Comprehension defies all the logic of the world. You watched the technique to stop the bleeding and learned about the herbs used, giving you medicinal knowledge.]

All the knowledge started to pour into his mind as he felt a little overwhelmed, and he tried to think of a way to control his comprehension.

[Your Comprehension defies all the logic of the world. You wondered how to control what you comprehend and were able to learn it.]

With that, the things around him became normal. Now, he won't just learn everything just by looking at it. He is able to command his mind to comprehend things when needed.

After a while, they reached the village, and the villagers quickly took the deer from their hands. They started to handle it as the hunters went to rest. Nexus also walked toward a shabby wooden house and entered it.

"Haa."

He released a deep sigh as he massaged his head. Although the comprehension is great, it can quickly overwhelm his current fragile mind.

Opening the supreme system, he checked the details of his two skills. He was quite happy to have been born with an innate talent. After all, throughout all life in the universe, those with innate talent are few and far between.

Most only possess the acquired talent given by the Supreme Will, and some have acquired talent they managed to possess using some kind of treasure.

If one has an innate talent, then the Supreme Will give them an Acquired Talent that can complement their innate talent.
