Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Transmigration Diary

"…No idea if the Ancient Sun God will discipline Amon properly. Oh well, this place isn't safe anymore." Luo Lin shook his head, collecting the scattered Worms of Time. Without lingering, he packed his bags and prepared to bolt.

Though the Ancient Sun God had sealed the space while thrashing Amon, the seal was now gone. Official Beyonders or Amon's true body could show up anytime. Luo Lin figured it was better to relocate.

As for being tracked—mystical divination didn't worry him. As a vessel for Nyarlathotep's power, it'd be a miracle if this world's Beyonders could pinpoint him. Physical traces? Luo Lin, with his rich experience of being hunted, knew how to erase those cleanly.

By the time official Beyonders noticed something was off and checked his old address, Luo Lin had melted into the chaotic sprawl of Backlund like a drop of water.

That afternoon, a house on a street in Hillston District welcomed its new tenant.

After dismissing the temporary maid hired to clean, Luo Lin locked the doors and windows, set up his cleaned beakers and tools, and pulled out a small suitcase. From it, he took pure water, golden mint leaves, autumn narcissus essence, and elf flowers—auxiliary materials for the "Trickster" potion. Finally, he opened an iron cigarette case, revealing a single Worm of Time lying quietly inside.

Amon's clone had left more than one worm after self-destructing, but Luo Lin stored the rest for future use.

Instead of preparing the potion, he retrieved one last item from the suitcase: a deliberately aged blank notebook. Its title page bore Chinese characters: Transmigration Diary.

Luo Lin opened it, a thoughtful look on his face, as if crafting a story in his mind. Seconds later, a pleased smile curved his lips as he wrote on the first page:

June 29, Sunny.

Three days in this world, and I can't deny it anymore—I've transmigrated to another world, and there's no going back.

Well, with so many transmigrators out there, it's not that strange it's my turn. Optimistically, I've got enough wealth to live comfortably and skip decades of struggle.

June 30, Cloudy.

Scratch that. This world has extraordinary powers, and my identity? Not just a rich kid but a member of a mystical family with a grand lineage, producing Beyonders for generations.

Good news: I can become a Beyonder, choosing from Seer, Apprentice, or Parasite pathways.

Bad news: Our family has a terrifying enemy named Amon, who devours every Zoroast we meet.

Can't lie flat after all. Hilarious.

July 1, Overcast.

I've decided on the Parasite pathway—our family has the most complete knowledge of it. Apprentice and Seer pathways only have low-to-mid sequence info, making advancement harder.

I don't know if I can reach demigod, but why take the hard road when there's an easier one?

Besides, Amon eats Seers, Apprentices, and Parasites equally.

July 2, Stormy.

Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!

I ran into Amon! Nearly got devoured. Luckily, he's a thrill-seeker and decided to fatten me up before eating me.

I need to plan my escape before he comes back.

Good thing Amon doesn't read Chinese. I can write my thoughts and plans in Chinese to keep track and avoid forgetting.

"Done!" Luo Lin set down his pen, pleased with his fabricated diary. The goal wasn't just record-keeping—it was to disguise these as Roselle's diaries, sell them to Tarot Club members, and subtly warn the future Fool about dangers while helping him out and slandering Amon.

Maybe he'd slander others later, depending on the situation.

Truthfully, Luo Lin was intrigued by Klein. He wasn't a good person himself, so he admired genuine ones like Klein. Their existence made the world seem less rotten, life less bleak.

Plus, Klein, as the future Lord of Mysteries, was a prime investment. Building rapport now could let Luo Lin borrow near-Old-Days-level power in three years. Perfect.

In his plan, Luo Lin intended to meet Klein, help where he could, and enjoy the chaos and big shots around him, satisfying both his thrill-seeking and networking needs.

He even planned to subtly reveal his "fellow transmigrator" status to see Klein's reaction—likely surprise, cautious observation, no immediate trust. The Fool was prudent, after all.

Chuckling, Luo Lin closed the diary, picked up a beaker, and held his right hand over it. With a faint bubbling sound, a palm-sized, translucent light-blue object dropped in—the "Trickster" characteristic, split by Yog-Sothoth.

Luo Lin eyed the beautiful characteristic for a moment, then meticulously began preparing the Trickster potion. He added pure water, autumn narcissus essence, and other materials. Once the mundane ingredients were in, he dropped in Amon's Worm of Time.

The moment the worm hit the solution, it gained a strange, gem-like texture. Luo Lin, unfazed, added the Trickster characteristic.

Gurgle—gurgle—

Like a chemical reaction, the potion turned chaotic black for a second before shifting to silvery-white. The liquid now resembled blooming flowers or starry skies, chaotic yet dazzlingly beautiful.

"Pretty, but doesn't look drinkable," Luo Lin remarked honestly, then downed the potion without hesitation.
