Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: A Fixed Fight?

"Roar!"

The snarling bulldog's gaping jaws dripped foul-smelling drool.

It lunged and sank its teeth into Hulk's shoulder.

The incredible bite force could snap steel in half!

Another mutated Dogo Argentino clamped down on Hulk's leg, and the two dog-sized mutant beasts wrestled him to the ground.

Inside the car, Betty cried out.

The oversized poodle from earlier was slamming into the car window with all its might.

The hood crumpled, and cracks spread across the reinforced glass.

"…?"

Saitama was puzzled… It seemed like all three mutant dogs weren't too eager to bother with him.

Bang!

With a dull thud, the poodle let out a shrill scream.

A figure landed beside it and casually kicked it away.

The terrifying force blew half of the poodle's body into a mist of blood.

The gruesome scene made Betty scream.

"Bit weak, huh."

Saitama muttered. These mutant rejects were barely at a Tiger-level threat at best—not even enough to make him want to throw a punch.

"Roar!!"

Not far away, Hulk was locked in a fierce brawl with the other two mutant dogs. Several large trees had already been smashed to pieces.

But even with his current level of rage, Hulk seemed unable to finish them off.

Wounds covered his green skin.

"Two more left, huh."

Saitama muttered as he slowly walked toward the melee.

"Be careful, Saitama~"

Betty called out from inside the car, her voice full of concern.

The bulldog and the mutant Dogo were clearly fiercer than the poodle. They were like unkillable cockroaches—even after Hulk slammed one of them into the ground by its legs, it refused to die.

The bulldog, thrown by Hulk, landed right next to Saitama.

"Roar—!"

It lunged for him, jaws wide.

Its speed might have been like a storm to others, but to Saitama, it moved slower than a snail.

He casually grabbed its loose neck skin, glanced at the other dog, and then—

With a flick—

Whoosh—Boom!

The bulldog shot forward like a cannonball, colliding with the Dogo that was still mauling Hulk.

The sound of bones shattering and muscles tearing filled the air.

Like two watermelons bursting mid-air, flesh and bone sprayed in all directions. Both mutant dogs died before they could even scream.

"…Tch."

Saitama sighed. Controlling his strength was really a pain. Now there wouldn't be any dog meat hotpot tonight.

Next time he fought something around Tiger-level, he figured… a single finger should be enough.

Yeah, that should do it.

The ground trembled violently.

Trees toppled one after another.

The massive, imposing Hulk roared as he charged forward.

The bite wounds on his body were already healing rapidly.

He was a solid wall of green.

With a deafening crash, he punched Saitama, sending him flying into a house and collapsing half of it.

"Saitama!"

Betty's voice broke. With that kind of power, a car would've been crushed flat. If Saitama was…

Seeing her concern for Saitama, Hulk seemed to grow even angrier.

Taking massive strides, he moved shockingly fast for his size.

He barreled through the rubble, raising his enormous fist and slamming it down where Saitama had landed.

The shockwave sent wood splinters and stone fragments flying, pinging off Betty's car.

Her face went pale.

But to her shock, Hulk's massive fist seemed… stuck in the rubble, unable to move.

"Roar—!"

Hulk roared in frustration, straining to pull his trapped arm free.

His furious expression twisted as he realized—

It wasn't the debris holding him down.

It was Saitama, calmly gripping his massive fist with both hands.

"Pretty strong. You almost killed me with that one."

Looking up at the raging Hulk, Saitama smiled innocently.

He could feel Hulk's strength rising as his anger grew.

Unfortunately…

Even at this level of fury, Hulk still felt like a weakling in front of him.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Hulk stopped trying to pull free and started hammering Saitama's head with his left fist.

But no matter how many heavy blows he landed—ten or more—Saitama's head didn't move an inch.

It was like punching a solid iron statue.

If not for the ground beneath Saitama's feet crumbling from the force, anyone would think Hulk was pulling his punches.

"Hey, that's got a little bit of kick to it. Guess it's my turn now, huh?"

Looking up at the big guy, Saitama actually showed a rare smile.
