Saitama had already persuaded Hawkman.
For Hawkman, killing Savage was the one thing he had wanted most across countless cycles of reincarnation.
Everything he'd done before had ended in failure.
Now that there was finally a new path in front of him, he had to at least try it.
Hawkgirl, however, was far less trusting.
To her, this suddenly appearing group of strangers was suspicious from head to toe. She didn't believe for a second that they would really help her and Hawkman defeat the Savage that Carter was always talking about.
Just then, Saitama turned to Rip and said,
"Captain, I know that in the loop between this era and the next, the future version of Hawkgirl hasn't died yet. Why don't we bring Kendra over to meet her future self? What do you think?"
Rip's eyes widened the moment he heard Saitama's proposal.
"Saitama, you should know that meeting yourself is a massive violation of temporal ethics."
Saitama tilted his head.
"Then you showing up in our current timeline, recruiting us heroes to help you fight an enemy from your own future—doesn't that count as violating temporal ethics too?"
Rip was instantly left speechless.
He could only agree to Saitama's request.
Once Saitama finished arranging everything, Vivian looked at the man who had just casually steered the entire ship's course and suddenly felt she understood him less and less.
But she still didn't doubt him at all.
In her heart, she simply felt that Saitama had a lot of secrets. Those were his business. If he ever wanted to tell her, he would tell her himself.
The golden-haired, brown-eyed beauty Sara, on the other hand, didn't see it that way.
As she passed by Vivian, she leaned close and whispered in her ear,
"Hey, beauty, your man seems to have a lot of secrets, doesn't he? Don't you think so?"
With that, Sara and Vivian brushed past each other.
As the disciple of Ra's al Ghul, the greatest martial arts master in the whole DC world, Sara had gone through all kinds of assassin training.
She'd seen every trick there was when it came to sowing discord in people's hearts—and she was very, very good at it.
She was hoping those few words could shake Vivian's heart a little… and while she was at it, cause Saitama some trouble.
"Well then, everyone, let's get on the ship! The future's waiting for us to carve it open!"
After saying that, Sara whistled a playful little tune, acting like nothing had happened, and quietly boarded the ship.
Vivian glanced at Sara, then at Saitama, and couldn't help silently slapping a label on Sara in her heart.
"What a woman who just can't stop making trouble…"
Vivian made up her mind right then.
If she ever got the chance, she was definitely going to sit Saitama down and have a talk—about kicking this golden-haired, brown-eyed woman off the ship.
With a low hum, the Waverider set off again.
This time, it pierced through the river of time and entered the year 2046.
In the DC world, 2046 was a crucial point in time.
It was a milestone between the old world and the new.
More precisely, it was the moment right before a major event—the arrival of the "Doomsday Future."
The moment the group crossed into this time point, they all felt an unprecedented sense of oppression.
In this era, villains were active everywhere.
Yet because they still needed to find the final member of the Waverider's crew, they could only stay here for a short stop.
The ship finally hovered to a halt above a dense forest.
This forest was probably one of the last few pockets of peace and stability left in this time.
"Kendra, go through that stretch of woods ahead. There's a little cabin inside. What happens after that… is up to you."
Saitama pointed toward the depths of the trees, then turned to Hawkman.
"Maybe you'll get to meet your future lover. And at the same time, you can watch over Kendra."
Hawkman nodded silently.
A moment later, the Waverider took off once more.
This time, they were headed for the final stop in their recruitment journey—Star City, 2020.
Star City.
Past midnight.
Team Arrow was in the middle of another operation under the leadership of the Green Arrow.
In this time period, Team Arrow hadn't yet reached its peak in terms of members, but the people in the base were all fired up and full of fighting spirit.
Especially the woman in the black leather outfit, wearing a butterfly-shaped domino mask.
"Black Canary!"
Black Canary.
Her figure was explosive, and every punch and kick she threw could beat her enemies until they were rolling on the ground.
But even then, she didn't stop.
Not until the criminals on the other end couldn't take it anymore.
If she ran into a powerful opponent, she would open her mouth and unleash a sonic attack in an instant—
Just like her code name implied.
Through the Waverider's projection system, everyone in the ship could see the scene clearly.
Saitama glanced sideways at Sara.
"You're not going to go say hi?"
For a split second, something rippled in Sara's eyes.
But she quickly calmed down.
"Not for now. We still have a mission, don't we?"
Rip watched the little exchange between Saitama and Sara with interest.
On the surface, he looked calm, but inside, his head was starting to ache.
All these new recruits he'd gathered were people with strong personalities.
No one accepted anyone else.
The only reason things hadn't exploded yet was because Saitama's overwhelming strength kept them all suppressed.
But Rip really didn't know how long that suppression could last.
"All right, everyone, enough arguing," Rip said. "This is the last member we need to recruit. Who's willing to volunteer to go down and bring him in?"
Everyone looked at each other.
Captain Cold, Snart, shot a glance at the golden-haired, brown-eyed beauty Sara.
Sara immediately said,
"Don't we have a powerhouse like Saitama? Why don't we just let him go?"
Saitama looked at Snart, then at Heat Wave Mick.
Then he turned to Vivian and Rip.
"You two think so as well?"
Vivian spread her hands helplessly.
"It kind of has to be you this time, Saitama."
The corners of Saitama's mouth curled up in a faint smile.
"That works for me. If they went instead, they'd just hold me back."
His words were clearly provocative—but they also happened to be the truth.
Which was exactly why they infuriated everyone present.
Heat Wave Mick stepped forward at once.
"Bullshit!"
His voice boomed through the cabin.
Veins bulged on his neck as he glared at Saitama.
"How are we dragging you down? If you ask me, all we have to do is find that guy they call the Atom, smack him once, and haul him straight back here!"
Snart chimed in,
"Exactly. How about this: we'll take this mission. You guys just sit tight here and wait for our good news. Especially you, hero Saitama."
As he spoke, Snart even winked at Saitama, his eyes full of open disdain.
Saitama only smiled and stayed quiet.
Because he knew exactly what kind of person they'd run into if they went to where the Atom appeared.
Someone who, at least for now, could stand toe-to-toe with the dark mage Constantine.
Damien Darhk.
