Chapter 501 - Chapter 501

Everyone was stunned all over again.

That invincible occult sorcerer from just now… had actually been knocked… flat?

Saitama was way too strong!

Everyone stared at the back of the man in the beige coat and red cape. To them, that back looked like it stood at the very peak of invincibility.

Team Arrow.

The IT girl, Felicity, stammered, "C-Could he be this era's… Superman?!"

Black Canary said, "I really can't believe there's someone this strong in the world!"

Dig muttered, "I've gotta find a chance to ask him face to face how he trained to reach this level!"

Green Arrow: "…"

Team Flash.

Cisco said, "…This already makes zero scientific sense."

Caitlin murmured, "…Looks like he was holding back when he was sparring with Barry."

Barry shot out of S.T.A.R. Labs in Central City and rushed straight toward Star City, where Saitama currently was.

He felt like there was a lot he needed to ask him.

Only Wells, still seated in his wheelchair, rolled himself silently out of the lab and into the Time Vault to confirm that future newspaper one more time.

Saitama looked at Damien Darhk lying on the ground. "Mr. Damien Darhk… do you still think I can't beat you now?"

Damien lay there, barely breathing. "Saitama, I admit you're very strong. But now that I've been defeated by you… could you at least tell me what kind of power you used to scatter the sorcerous force in my body?"

Saitama answered calmly, "My fist."

Damien asked, "You… only used your fist, right?"

Saitama: "Right."

Damien Darhk let out a breath. "All right… in that case, I can die with no regrets."

As he spoke, Damien drew a gun and blew his own brains out.

The mystical sorcerer who had ruled Star City for an era… fell just like that.

At that moment, Heat Wave Mick and Captain Cold were supporting each other as they walked over.

Captain Cold said, "Brother, you just saved our lives. That means we owe you one. We were gonna say we'd pay you back whenever you needed us… but looking at you now, it feels like you don't really need that."

Saitama smiled. "Everything I did was just because we're on the same team."

Captain Cold repeated softly, "Just because… we're a team?"

Saitama nodded.

Captain Cold said, "All right. Then from now on… we're a team."

There was a lot of weight behind his words.

For a career criminal from Central City like him, truly acknowledging someone from the bottom of his heart was incredibly difficult—but Saitama had just managed it.

Saitama had earned his recognition.

It was just that, right now, Captain Cold only recognized Saitama as his teammate. As for everyone else?

Saitama felt that the road to getting this bunch of teammates properly in line was still going to be a long one.

At that moment, Saitama glanced at his system.

When he'd defeated Damien Darhk just now, he'd heard the chime of system notifications in his head.

And when he focused on the system interface, he couldn't help being shocked by the rewards.

He had gained a massive amount of attribute points. On top of that, he'd obtained an experience book for his Hero Emblem.

That emblem—which could raise his attributes by a percentage—began to glow with dazzling golden light after he used the experience book on it.

Only then did Saitama notice that beneath the Hero Emblem there was an experience bar, and this one experience book had filled a full one-third of it.

In other words, when the Hero Emblem leveled up again, he would once more gain an even larger percentage boost!

"This reward is seriously way too generous!"

Saitama had just snapped out of checking his system when he suddenly noticed Atom Palmer staring at him with a pitifully innocent look in his eyes.

"Um, hero," Atom said, "since you've recruited me… why don't we stick together from now on?"

Saitama had never expected Atom Palmer to be this much of a self-invited guest.

After hearing Saitama talk about so many future events, and after witnessing his power, Atom had already become a die-hard fan.

Saitama had never experienced this feeling before. But suddenly having a fan… actually felt pretty nice.

Just as Saitama and the others were about to leave—

A figure wreathed in Speed Force lightning appeared beside them.

The Flash said, "Saitama, sir… since you're from the future, could you please tell me who killed my mom?"

Saitama looked at the still-youthful Barry, and his first instinct was to refuse—he didn't want to reveal too much and change the timeline.

But then he remembered how many points in time he'd already altered.

What was the point in being cautious now?

Saitama said, "The one who killed your mom… is right beside you."

With that, Saitama led Palmer aboard the Waverider.

The Waverider squad's recruitment plan… was officially complete.

Meanwhile…

Central City.

Inside the Time Vault.

The professor who had always sat in a wheelchair—Wells—slowly stood up.

His cold eyes were fixed on the newspaper projection hanging in the Time Vault.

Where it used to say, "In 2024, the Flash mysteriously vanishes," it now read, "The Flash Barry Allen and reporter Iris West marry!"

Wells was speechless.

He quietly opened a hidden compartment in the wall. Inside was a suit almost identical to the one worn by Barry, the man of Speed Force.

This suit revealed his true identity—a time traveler from the future, and a poor soul trapped in this time period.

(In the world of the DC Flash, only those who possess the Speed Force can run into the timeline. So before Barry gains his Speed Force, Wells—Eobard Thawne—can't awaken his own powers. And before Barry reaches his maximum speed, Wells can't reach his either, because Professor Wells is the Flash's opposite existence—Reverse-Flash.)

Wells narrowed his eyes. "Saitama… since you've interfered with the timeline, then don't blame me for coming after you before long."

Inside the Waverider.

Atom Palmer, who had just stepped onto the ship, was staring around in shock.

"Whoa, my god… that's a quantum exchanger, that's a quantum computer, that's a quantum optical brain…"

"Sorry, Mr. Palmer, I'm not a quantum optical brain. I'm the ship's main AI—Gideon."

"All right then, Gideon, you really are one amazing ship's AI!"

Watching the awestruck Atom Palmer, Saitama couldn't help finding it funny.

But he understood.

This was, after all, his first time here.

On the other side, Vivian had just changed into a fresh outfit. She walked up to Saitama.

"Saitama, I've been waiting for you for so long," she said with a smile. "Welcome back in triumph!"
