Chapter 723 - Chapter 723

In the chaos, Saitama—who had just punched the Demon God clone flying—swept his gaze over what was happening on this side. He saw that final shockwave, condensed from the believers' lives, still raging wildly, and he also saw how battered his teammates looked after being caught up in it.

He didn't say a word. He simply took advantage of the brief gap after dealing with the clone and, very casually, threw a punch through the air toward the spot where the believers had been gathered.

No aiming. No charging. Like brushing a speck of dust off his shoulder.

And yet an invisible, crushing punch-pressure arrived across the distance.

Those believers—who had already sacrificed themselves and were in the middle of turning to ash—along with the altar zone beneath their feet, were like something that had just been stomped on by the foot of an unseen titan.

Boom!!

A heavy, muffled explosion sounded. The ground caved in, forming a clear, fist-shaped crater. Everything inside it—residual dark energy, the believers' disintegrating remains, even the hard rock—was instantly erased by absolute force, ground into fine powder.

That final obstacle meant for mutual destruction was completely wiped away by a single casual punch.

With the last life-fueled power source from the dark believers gone, and with the intense backlash of light produced after the Dark God Book's purification striking the entire ritual system, this evil altar—running for who knew how many ages—finally reached its end.

Crack… crack… krk…

Across the altar floor, those massive, intricate, eerie array patterns that once carried dark-red energy were like a circuit board that had lost its power. Their glow rapidly dimmed, then began to fracture and crumble from the edges. The truly inscribed runes winked out one after another, extinguishing into nothingness.

At the altar's center, the shadowy passage connecting to an unknown dark dimension—constantly trying to expand—was hit even harder. It lost stability. Its edges twisted and trembled violently, and it shrank at a visible pace, collapsing from a size large enough for a massive body to pass through into a thin black rift, before finally vanishing completely amid unwilling ripples in space.

The passage was forcibly closed!

"Roar!!! No!!"

The Demon God clone, struggling out from the rubble, felt the descent passage to its true body severed entirely and let out a sky-splitting roar packed with endless fury and unwillingness. The dark energy on its surface became insanely violent and unstable, flashing in and out as if it might explode at any moment. The descent plan had utterly failed, and the purpose of this clone's existence was about to be lost.

But even if it was going to be destroyed, it would drag these detestable meddlers down with it—especially that bald guy!

Squeezing out every last ounce of power, draining every drop of dark energy inside its clone body, it turned into an out-of-control dark meteor. With a do-or-die resolve, it charged madly at Saitama—who was standing there inspecting the altar's cracks. Wherever it passed, space itself seemed scorched into warped traces by the remaining dark energy.

Facing this suicidal strike, Saitama finally lifted his eyes from the ground and looked at the charging clone.

He didn't choose to take it head-on. At the final instant—just before the claws could touch him—he slid to the side with hairbreadth precision, casually dodging the desperate pounce.

And in the moment they crossed, Saitama's right fist fired like a cannon shot. From low to high, a clean, decisive heavy punch—without any flourish—smashed straight into the clone's chest core, where its energy was the most chaotic and its defense the thinnest.
