The next few days, I began to pack my stuff, getting ready to leave.
Miss Hwang looked at me with teary eyes, worried that I would have time in the military. I had to remind her over and over that nothing would happen to be since I would not only join the Air Force, but I wouldn't be taken into active duty because of the recent accident.
She didn't need to worry but she still worried, saying it was too soon and that I was too young.
She asked if it wouldn't have been better if I had just gone after finishing my studies, but I told her I had already applied. I can't take it back now.
This was the reason why I did not let her know before submitting my application. She would've stopped me and made me even more reluctant about my decision.
"I'm grateful that you're worried about me, Miss Hwang," I said, hugging her.
She was the only one who would cry and worry about such a thing. Now, she was the only one who would try to stop me.
