Chapter 84 - Chapter 84 – Do You Intend to Train Him as a God of Destruction?

"Broly, I'll make sure you get a good meal later," Ken said as he appeared at Broly's side.

Broly slowly turned his head, gave Ken a long look, then nodded firmly.

A wide, goofy smile spread across his face.

"Good, good. At least we've awakened your dormant power," Ken said, satisfied.

Broly looked confused at first, but soon seemed to realize something. He quickly bowed to Ken in thanks.

"No need to thank me. Go try pulling out the sword," Ken encouraged, patting him on the shoulder.

Broly lowered his gaze to the Sacred Sword embedded in the rock.

With a thud, he descended and landed beside it, wrapping one hand around the hilt.

"What, you think just because you're the so-called Legendary Super Saiyan you can draw the Sacred Sword?" Kibito scoffed, though his relief was obvious.

The Supreme Kai said nothing. A chill ran through him as he recalled the sight from moments earlier.

I'm not sure… am I really stronger than this glowing green child now? The Legendary Super Saiyan… could he truly be that strong?

With a sharp crack, Broly yanked the Sacred Sword free from the stone.

The Supreme Kai's pupils shrank sharply.

Kibito's jaw dropped, his face a mask of disbelief.

"Excellent," Ken said, clearly pleased. "But you'll need to temper your mind. You can't lose control every time you transform. This time Merus restored your reason, but that won't always work. Ultimately, it's up to you."

Broly nodded quickly, then gave the sword a few experimental swings, grinning in his usual clumsy manner.

"Hey, Ken." Merus floated quietly to his side.

"What?" Ken glanced back at him.

"Do you intend to train him as a God of Destruction?" Merus finally asked.

"I do," Ken admitted with a nod.

Merus felt a pang in his chest. Should I also hurry and train a God of Destruction? One of my own? After I handle my current tasks, I'll need to find the right candidate. Otherwise, being shown up by a mortal cultivating angelic power… it's too humiliating for a trainee Angel.

"Still," Merus continued, lowering his voice, "this so-called God of Destruction you're grooming already seems stronger than you. Be careful."

Ken's face darkened. "Could you not say that out loud?"

"You should remember that Angels are stronger than Gods of Destruction," Merus added, trying to reassure him. "We just keep a low profile."

"My feelings are complicated. I'm raising the strongest God of Destruction in history," Ken sighed. "But don't worry—I still have that robot."

Merus stared. I thought you'd say you'd polish your angelic power. But your trump card is… a robot?

"By the way, your angelic restraint on Broly's berserk state—how long can it hold?" Ken asked.

"An hour or two at most," Merus replied. "But the next time he transforms, he'll likely lose control again. Like you said, he needs to train his mind to stay calm."

"Understood," Ken nodded.

The Supreme Kai and Kibito exchanged glances and cautiously flew closer to Broly—though not too close, afraid he might lose control again.

"Supreme Kai… how did he regain his reason? I swear I saw that Galactic Patrol officer fire a shot at him, and suddenly he was normal," Kibito asked curiously.

"Kibito, that's not the point," the Supreme Kai shook his head. "The real point is… he actually drew the Sacred Sword."

Kibito nodded slowly, thoughtful.

True enough. His recovery wasn't the focus anymore.

The fact was… he had drawn the Sacred Sword.

Unbelievable.

So the Legendary Super Saiyan really was this formidable?

In that light, being beaten by him earlier didn't seem so shameful.

Somehow, Kibito felt oddly at peace.

Broly swung the Sacred Sword rapidly, his movements blurring. In that moment, he looked every bit like a sword god.

The Supreme Kai and Kibito were struck silent.

Ken and Merus said nothing either, simply watching Broly show off.

Finally, the Supreme Kai asked cautiously, "Legendary Super Saiyan, how does the Sacred Sword of our Realm of the Kais feel to you?"

"Mine!" Broly declared, pointing at the sword, then at himself.

The Supreme Kai froze. I never said you could keep it! How can you just claim it as yours?

"Ahem… I can give it to you," the Supreme Kai improvised, "but only if you help me with something."

"No," Broly refused flatly.

The Supreme Kai was left speechless. Doesn't this guy know how to play along?

"If you won't help me, then I won't give you the sword," he said darkly.

"Mine!" Broly repeated, pointing at the sword and then his own chest, his expression resolute.

The Supreme Kai fell silent again.

After a long pause, he said quickly, "Actually, what I want is simple. Help me destroy a being named Majin Buu. You're a Saiyan—a warrior race. And you're the Legendary Super Saiyan. You love battle, don't you? That creature would be the perfect opponent. Surely you'd be interested?"

As expected, Broly's eyes lit up. He blinked, then asked, "Is he strong?"

That was exactly the opening the Supreme Kai wanted. He nodded vigorously, giving a bitter smile. "To be honest, even I am no match for Majin Buu."

But Broly didn't answer immediately. Instead, he turned toward Ken, silently seeking his opinion.

Merus noticed this and raised his brows. This 'God of Destruction candidate' of Ken's really listens to him. Even on such a major issue, he sought Ken's word first.

"Destroying Majin Buu? For Broly, that's nothing," Ken said with a smile. Then he suddenly shifted the topic: "But tell me, Broly—do you feel this sword has made you stronger?"

Broly immediately shook his head. He studied the blade again, then scowled with disappointment.

"Don't want it!" he declared, tossing the Sacred Sword to Kibito.

Kibito was left speechless.

The Supreme Kai also had no words.
