Chapter 86 - Chapter 86 – Frieza: We’re Businessmen

"Supreme Kai, we're heading out now, no need to see us off." Ken called casually toward the crater.

Merus: "..."

Are you trying to kill him and break his spirit?

Earth – Capsule Corporation Headquarters.

After days of sleepless research, Bulma finally managed to repair the communicator.

On top of that, she modified its tracking system to transmit false coordinates.

Dr. Brief examined the communicator carefully, studying its details.

A moment of silence passed.

"This is too risky, Bulma." Dr. Brief shook his head. "I may be one of the greatest scientists on Earth, but compared to the geniuses scattered across the universe, I still fall short. Even if you tampered with the tracking system, there's still a chance a top-class alien scientist could crack it."

Bulma blinked her bright eyes and nodded seriously.

"You plan to use this to contact Ken, don't you?" Dr. Brief adjusted his glasses.

Bulma nodded, her ponytail bouncing.

"But Ken doesn't carry a communicator. If you send out a signal, there's a high chance it'll connect to whoever's behind him instead," Dr. Brief guessed.

"We'll just try once. If anything feels off, I'll shut it down immediately." Bulma lifted her head, looking at her father pleadingly.

"…Fine. If it's just a sentence or two, the risk of being traced is low." Dr. Brief reluctantly agreed.

Bulma pressed a button and immediately spoke into the device.

"Hello, is anyone there?"

The sweet, youthful voice of a little girl left Earth and was instantly transmitted into the vastness of space.

The boundless cosmos.

Three spherical pods streaked rapidly across the stars.

Inside one ship, Vegeta lay scowling, his face twisted with bitterness.

The appearance of the legendary Super Saiyan had driven him into utter despair.

He never thought it was real. But now, it undeniably was.

Why not me?

If the Super Saiyan exists, why isn't it me, Vegeta?!

Just then, a sweet voice suddenly echoed inside his ship.

Vegeta froze, turning toward the communicator. "Who are you?"

"And who are you?" Bulma instantly realized it wasn't Ken's voice.

"Hmph!" Vegeta snorted, refusing to answer.

"Do you know Ken?" Bulma asked again.

"…What did you say? You know Ken?" Vegeta's eyes lit up. "Tell me—where are you?"

"Judging by your tone, you're no good guy. I'm not telling you!" Bulma snapped, then cut the signal.

Vegeta: "..."

He stared at the communicator, speechless.

A little girl's voice? From where?

Wait… when the communicator lit up, the indicator was green—that meant the signal came from the mothership.

The very ship Ken had stolen.

And the line could only connect with the few pods they were using.

"Prince Vegeta, did you hear that voice? It sounded like a young girl." Nappa's voice chimed in.

"I heard it," Vegeta replied curtly.

"Should we trace her location?" Nappa asked.

"And then what?" Vegeta scoffed. "You want to go get beaten to a pulp by the so-called Super Saiyan?"

Nappa fell silent.

"Forget her," Vegeta ordered.

Raditz kept his mouth shut.

Back on Earth, disappointed by the lack of results, Bulma tossed the communicator to the ground and stomped on it until it shattered into pieces.

Dr. Brief: "..."

Why bother fixing it in the first place?

Deep space.

Inside Frieza's massive ship.

Frieza's face was darker than Vegeta's.

Supreme Kai!

Just you wait!

You killed my son. I'll make you suffer!

But Frieza also knew full well the gap between himself and the Supreme Kai.

Worse still, the Supreme Kai seemed to have quite a friendly relationship with Beerus, the God of Destruction.

If I anger the Kai, who knows how Beerus might punish me?

Frieza clenched his teeth. He could only swallow the humiliation.

"Berryblue, remember this—we suppress planets and exterminate their natives for profit. We sell them at high prices to displaced aliens in desperate need of a home. It's business." Frieza took a long, controlled breath, calming himself.

"I understand, Lord Frieza," Berryblue nodded firmly.

"We are nothing like those criminals who break Galactic Law," Frieza added.

Berryblue: "..."

As he spoke, a soldier rushed in with a report.

"What is it?" Frieza asked coldly.

"Lord Frieza, we intercepted a signal—from the Galactic Patrol base. It was a young girl's voice, and she managed to connect with Vegeta. Should we launch an assault on the Patrol?"

"Shhhrrk!"

Twin beams of red shot from Frieza's eyes, engulfing the soldier.

In an instant, the underling disintegrated into ash, dead beyond doubt.

"I already said—we're businessmen," Frieza growled.

The other soldiers stood trembling, their bodies quaking in terror.

Divine Realm.

Ken's ship launched, swiftly departing the Supreme Kai's world, sailing through the divine expanse.

"Next, I need to make a trip to the Underworld," Merus told Ken. "You two don't need to follow."

"Now that's where you're wrong," Ken shook his head. "You're an apprentice angel, and I'm striving along the same path. Our ultimate goals aren't so different."

Broly nodded along, half understanding.

Merus sighed, speechless.

A beat of silence.

"…Fine. You can come. But listen carefully—this is the Underworld we're talking about. Don't make trouble there, or you'll cause problems none of us want." Merus' gaze sharpened as it landed squarely on Broly.
