Watching Merus fiddle with the controls, Ken made no comment.
"It looks like we've slipped into a wormhole… this is bad," Merus muttered, sweat rolling down his face.
Ken still didn't say a word.
Seeing his calm reaction, Merus turned to glance at him in surprise. Why is he so unshaken?
"Ken… our spaceship accidentally got pulled into a wormhole. We don't know where it'll take us. Returning to Galactic Patrol Headquarters on schedule might not be possible," Merus explained, though his performance was stiff—his eyes wouldn't even meet Ken's.
"Merus, every time you go back to your room you lock the door tight. Got a little secret in there?" Ken asked with a grin.
Merus stiffened.
Did he notice?
"Hiding your tail?" Broly leaned in and circled Merus, examining him.
Merus: …
Hiding a tail? What kind of brain wiring is that?
"And besides, I can clearly sense you're drained. What exactly did you do?" Ken pressed.
"What? I don't understand what you're talking about," Merus deflected, voice shaky.
"What toilet paper?" Ken asked suddenly.
Merus: "???"
"I never said toilet paper," Merus muttered, scratching his head.
"You burned through that much angel power just to make this wormhole, didn't you?" Ken glanced at the streams of light flowing outside.
Merus fell silent, eyes widening in shock.
He figured it out?
"So where are you taking me?" Ken asked.
Merus lowered his head.
Is my acting really this bad? Should've brought Jaco along—he put on such a convincing act as Broly's father that Broly turned Super Saiyan when he died. I'm an angel… acting just isn't in me.
After a pause, he admitted, "You saw through it. Yes… I created the wormhole."
"I knew it," Ken smiled faintly.
"The truth is, if we pass through it, we'll reach the edge of Universe 7," Merus sighed. "From there, I planned to take you to Universe 10, to have my sister train you."
Ken fell into thought.
So that's his plan? He went this far just to deliver me to Universe 10? Why?
In his mind, an image surfaced of a petite angel with the appearance of a little girl—Kusu.
Despite her childlike looks, Kusu was the oldest among the twelve angels.
But age wasn't the issue. Even Vados was likely over a billion years old, yet remained eternally youthful.
So… he wants me to meet Kusu?
Ken thought of his ideal type: a woman with a ponytail. Cute loli angels like Kusu were nice, but his heart leaned toward Vados—the beautiful ponytailed angel.
It was because of you I came to this strange yet familiar world. Because of you, I trained in this bizarre angel power.
Of course, he couldn't say any of this aloud. What, tell him I'm a transmigrator? They'd dissect me for research.
Better to keep it quiet. Even if one day his strength rivaled an angel's, there'd be no need to reveal it.
Which meant, if he wanted to meet Vados, he had to be subtle.
"Earlier you said you had three sisters, right?" Ken asked.
"Yes," Merus nodded.
"Which one's the prettiest?" Ken pressed.
Merus froze. Why are you asking that? Planning to pick a bride? He refused to answer.
"And the other two—what universes are they in?" Ken continued.
"One is in Universe 6. The other in Universe 11," Merus answered truthfully.
"Good. I've decided. I'm going to Universe 6," Ken declared.
Merus: "???"
"My lucky number's six. I believe if I go to Universe 6, I'll accomplish something great," Ken said with firm conviction.
Merus wiped his brow. Kusu… looks like you've been rejected.
"But I already told Sister Kusu. She's waiting in the God of Destruction Realm," Merus sighed.
"When did you set that up?" Ken shot back.
"Earlier. While you two were asleep, I contacted her," Merus admitted.
"Then call her again and tell her I want to go to Universe 6 instead," Ken insisted.
"I like six too!" Broly chimed in.
Merus: …
I already made arrangements with Kusu, and now you want Universe 6? What am I supposed to do…
Just then, the ship broke through the wormhole.
The view shifted—the front stretched into a strange void that seemed endless.
Behind and to both sides lay the boundless starfield, but ahead was nothingness.
Broly scratched his head, eyes full of curiosity.
"We've reached the edge of the universe," Merus explained, pointing forward. "Beyond lies the Void. Cross it, and we can reach another universe."
Ken nodded thoughtfully.
"There's still time to decide. Do you really want Universe 6?" Merus asked again.
"Yes. Let's go to Universe 6," Ken confirmed.
