Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Stasis Field

Through the online shopping platform, Luka quickly placed an order for two grape seedlings and a bag of grape seeds.

The variety he chose was Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, specifically used for winemaking, the mainstream winemaking grapes in the 3K era.

Although other better varieties exist, Cabernet Sauvignon is the most common and mainstream wine grape variety, known as the king of red grape varieties.

It has perfect planting technology and mature brewing technology.

Even ordinary people can make good quality wine by DIY at home.

Luka had tried making wine with purchased grapes before; the finished product was very good in color, taste, and mouthfeel. Although not comparable to purchased wine, it had a unique flavor.

This grape has thick skin and little flesh, not great for eating but ideal for winemaking, the main raw material for red wine.

The merchant shipped quickly, and Luka received the grape seedlings and seeds, still wrapped in soil, in two days.

Luka bought seeds as a backup, worried the seedlings might not survive transport or adapt to Rostov II's conditions.

Online shopping services are excellent. The merchant included a planting guide and a winemaking guide.

This will help Luka grow grapes on Rostov II and make wine.

Rostov II is suitable for grape cultivation, requiring sandy loam or gravel soil with good drainage and a warm, dry environment. Deserts and Gobi are ideal.

Irrigation and fertilizer are concerns, especially on Rostov II, a desert planet developed for over 70 years.

Fertilizer might be an issue.

Luka frowned but relaxed, realizing Olivia, a Mechanicus biological sage, could handle it, especially since she's studying desert-to-paradise world transformation.

Borrowing a trolley from the supermarket owner, Luka brought everything home but faced a problem.

Grape seeds and seedlings were easy to transport to the 40K world, but explaining their origin was tricky.

In the 40K era, even alien fruits are expensive; fresh grape seedlings and seeds are precious and could raise suspicion.

As an Inquisitor, Luka wasn't immune to doubt.

Luka asked the Servo Skull, "Is there a stasis field container in the exchange list?"

"The stasis field box requires 5 points. Would you like to exchange?" the Servo Skull replied, showing the item.

Luka checked the box's size, confirmed it was fine, and exchanged for it. A large box landed heavily on his floor.

"Fuck! My solid wood floor! Old man Huang downstairs will curse!" Luka swore, checking the floor.

No obvious marks, just a subtle groove.

Luka removed the plastic wrapping from the seedlings, placed them in the stasis field box, and put the seeds in a small bottle.

He handed the planting and winemaking guides to the Servo Skull. "Translate them into High Gothic and copy onto parchment."

"Copying module requires 1 point; each blessed parchment roll costs 1 point," the Servo Skull said.

Luka exchanged without hesitation. A copying module and parchment appeared. The Servo Skull scanned, copied, and sealed the guides in wax, handing them to Luka.

Luka tossed the parchment into the stasis field box.

He placed the box into the crossing box.

As the stasis field box sank into the golden sand, Luka saw the Inquisitor pawn in an office, with the Battle Sister and Kashejin in adjacent lounges.

The planetary governor was working.

Luka didn't possess the pawn but sent the stasis field box to the Inquisitor, ordering it handed to Sage Olivia.

The Inquisitor summoned the Battle Sister team to escort the box to Olivia's forging workshop.

The team set off immediately.

The golden dust showed they'd arrive in two hours.

Satisfied, Luka turned to the shelf of chess pieces, pondering whether to train combat nuns on Rostov II.
