Chapter 312 - Chapter 312: The Three Tasks to Inherit the Angel God Position

Qian Lingyi didn't let Zhu Ziyang down. After absorbing her seventh soul ring, her martial soul evolved into its final form—Six-Winged Angel!

"Brother, my martial soul evolved into a Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul!" Qian Lingyi exclaimed in excitement, running up to Zhu Ziyang.

Perched on her shoulder was Infernal Delicate Apricot in her flower fairy form. The little one wore a golden-red dress, had wine-red long hair, and shimmering golden eyes. Like all the other immortal plant soul spirits Zhu Ziyang had seen, she was exquisitely beautiful—truly worthy of the title "Flower Fairy."

"Mm! Congratulations!" Zhu Ziyang said with a warm smile. "Come, let's leave the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. I've got a surprise for you."

"Surprise? What kind of surprise?" Qian Lingyi's eyes lit up with expectation as she looked at him.

"No rush. Let's go first." Zhu Ziyang smiled mysteriously, wrapped an arm around her waist, and with a thought, vanished from the eyes of the immortal herbs within the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.

Watching Zhu Ziyang, Qian Lingyi, and Infernal Delicate Apricot disappear, the immortal herbs showed mixed reactions—envy, jealousy, indifference. Fragrant Silk Immortal, of course, was the prime example of the latter.

The moment Zhu Ziyang left, Fragrant Silk Immortal opened her eyes, abandoning the pretense of sleep. Her heart was complicated and unsettled.

Outside the Yin Yang Well, Zhu Ziyang and Qian Lingyi reappeared.

"Brother, can you tell me now?" Qian Lingyi eagerly asked. She was clever and understood that the surprise must be something even the other herbs couldn't see—making her all the more curious.

Zhu Ziyang nodded and no longer teased her. He took out a diamond-shaped crystal—the Divine Core of the Angel God—and handed it to her. "Here, hold it and press it tightly against your brow."

"What is this?" Qian Lingyi examined the item curiously. She could feel the divine and holy aura emanating from it, clearly no ordinary object, though she didn't dare guess its true nature.

"Heh, just do as I say. You'll know what it is soon enough," Zhu Ziyang replied with a mysterious grin.

"Okay." Without further hesitation, Qian Lingyi followed his instructions. She held the divine core and pressed it to her brow. Her eyes grew unfocused, and then a pure white light enveloped her.

Seeing this, Zhu Ziyang smiled. The emergence of divine light meant the Angel God had initially acknowledged her. All that remained was to wait for the light to fade and ask about the god trial.

Relaxing, Zhu Ziyang leaned against a tree, watching the radiant glow around Qian Lingyi with a peaceful expression.

When the light dispersed, Qian Lingyi was revealed, brimming with emotion. A golden wing-shaped mark had appeared on her brow—the symbol of a divine candidate. Overcome, she threw herself into Zhu Ziyang's arms and said, trembling with joy, "Brother, how could I ever repay you?"

"Haha!" Zhu Ziyang laughed, hugging her back. "Isn't it obvious? Just give yourself to me!"

"Okay!" Qian Lingyi agreed without hesitation. "From now on, I, Qian Lingyi, belong to Zhu Ziyang—alive or dead!"

"Alright, alright, I get it." Zhu Ziyang hadn't expected her to use this moment to confess so directly. With a wry smile, he said, "I accept your feelings. But now, let's talk about the divine trial."

"Mm!" Qian Lingyi stepped out of his arms, her cheeks slightly flushed—whether from excitement or embarrassment, it was hard to tell. "Brother, the Angel God Position is the most important legacy to our Qian Clan. Ever since the Angel God fell ten thousand years ago and the divine position was lost, our clan no longer dared to claim to be followers of the Angel God. We couldn't even hold ancestral rites openly."

"I understand." Zhu Ziyang could hear the deep significance the divine position held for her clan. "Now that you've gained its inheritance, you've restored your clan's honor."

"Yes! That's why I'm so happy!" she said with a bright smile. "Brother, I don't know how you found the Angel God Position, but I'm really lucky to have met you."

"Tell me about the divine trial," Zhu Ziyang said gently, holding her hand to let her know she didn't need to thank him further.

"Oh, right!" Qian Lingyi nodded and began her explanation.

Her divine trial was quite simple. Because the Angel God Position had been damaged and degraded from a 1st Class God to a 2nd Class God, its original inheritance had vanished alongside the second-generation Angel God, Qian Renxue. As a result, Qian Lingyi only needed to complete three tasks to inherit the position.

First: Reforge a complete set of Angel Soul Bones. That meant acquiring six soul bones. Zhu Ziyang had anticipated this—his and Jiang Nannan's trials both indicated that six soul bones were a prerequisite to divinity. Historical records stated that the Angel God once possessed a complete set of 100,000-year soul bones, but they were lost after Qian Renxue inherited them.

Second: Attain Rank 99—Ultimate Douluo. Without divine trial rewards, she would need to reach it through her own talent and hard work. It would be difficult, but not impossible. As a Six-Winged Angel Martial Soul user, her talent was among the highest on the continent. So long as she didn't fall prematurely, becoming an Ultimate Douluo was almost guaranteed.

Third: Recover or reforge the divine weapon of the Angel God—the Angelic Divine Sword. This was the hardest part. Whether finding the old weapon or creating a new one, both would be immensely challenging. Without divine guidance, searching for the sword would be like looking for a needle in a haystack. And even its continued existence was uncertain.

Thus, rebuilding the divine sword seemed the only viable path.

"That's everything!" Qian Lingyi finished. Though she smiled, a trace of worry lingered in her eyes.

"Don't worry," Zhu Ziyang reassured her. "Let's take care of the first two tasks first. As for reforging the Angelic Divine Sword, we're in no hurry. We've got plenty of time and energy to tackle that challenge."

"Mhm!" With his comfort, her anxiety vanished and her smile brightened even more.

"Let's handle the first task then. Yiyi, how many soul bones do you have now?" Zhu Ziyang asked.

"Two. One is the Infernal Delicate Apricot Left Arm Bone from Jiaojiao. The other is the Holylight Bailing Right Arm Bone I got when absorbing my fourth soul ring," Qian Lingyi answered.

"Only two?" Zhu Ziyang was surprised. "That's a bit few. Once we're back at the academy, I'll take you to the Treasury Pavilion. We should be able to find suitable bones there. We'll start by completing your soul bones first."

"Okay!" Qian Lingyi readily agreed. "Are we heading back to the academy now?"

"Why? Got something else in mind?" he asked.

"Mm! I want to visit home. It's been two or three years since I left. My grandma must be missing me." Her expression turned soft with longing. "And I want to tell her about inheriting the Angel God."

"I see." Zhu Ziyang thought for a moment. "Alright. I'll go with you. But for now, only your grandmother should know about the divine position. Let's not tell anyone else."

"Really? That's wonderful!" Qian Lingyi beamed with joy, completely ignoring the second part of his response. "Let's go!"

Overflowing with happiness, Qian Lingyi led Zhu Ziyang toward her home. After a day's journey, they arrived at her family's location.

Northern Mountain Range.
