Eventually, class ended and everyone shuffled out of the room for lunch.
"Estellan! Wait a moment!" Ms. Ocsol's voice sounded.
Lydia who was the last student left in the class mouthed good luck to Lucas and gave a smile before leaving the room, meaning that Lucas was now alone with Ms. Ocsol.
"Estellan. Could you tell me why you decided to join the Lerastad Royal Academy?" Ms. Ocsol asked.
Lucas was caught off guard but answered using his predecessor's memories.
"I joined the Lerastad Royal Academy because wanted to become a legendary mage." He answered.
That was only part of the answer though as the reason his predecessor wanted to become a legendary mage was in order to win back the affections of his parents.
But obviously, Lucas couldn't info dump on the teacher like that so he decided to keep his answer short, sweet and to the point.
Unfortunately for him, Ms Ocsol's follow up question was: "And why do you want to become a legendary mage?"
Lucas couldn't answer. He obviously couldn't use his predecessor's pathetic reason but at the same time.
He couldn't use his own reason either as it was to stick close to the important characters and get powerful enough to survive the War.
It was information that he had no intention to share, at least not anytime soon.
Seeing that Lucas was unable to answer, Ms Ocsol shook your head.
"You see, this is your problem Estellan. You have no drive. No purpose. No reason to be at the top academy in all of Noclies and arguably, the world. You're probably just here because your noble family would be ridiculed if it's heir went anywhere else. You need to think about what you want, Estellan." Ms Ocsol said.
"Miss, I..." Lucas started.
"Don't explain yourself to me Estellan. Figure out what you want by yourself. Just know that the other teachers and I have come to a decision. If you fail to do well on the midterm test we have agreed that you don't deserve to be in this school, especially not with your lackadaisical attitude." Ms Ocsol said.
"You mean..."
"Yes, if you fail to do well in the midterms. You are going to be expelled from the academy." Ms. Ocsol said coldly.
"I see." Lucas said.
Ms. Ocsol was surprised. She thought Lucas would freak out or beg but he had taken the news calmly, which she hadn't expected.
"You may leave." She said.
Lucas nodded and headed out the door. Now was lunch time.
He had to embarrass Lydia now because he wouldn't have any free time later on as he had Combat Class after this, then Detention and finally he would have to help out at the shop in order to get the Leklass fruits.
So he made his way to the dining hall. There he saw Lydia in the same place reading the same book.
The dining hall was more full than it had been at breakfast but since Lydia was sitting in the corner, Lucas thought no one would see him with her so it wouldn't ruin their deal.
He slowly approached her and when he reached, he said with a smile: "Mind if I join you?"
Lydia looked up from her book with the same expression from last time on her face that made it seem as if she'd forgotten that other people existed.
"You again?" She said with a frown.
Lucas took that as his cue to sit down then in one fell swoop he pulled out the romance book he had bought out of his bag and handed it to her.
"What's this?" She asked, taking it.
"It's a romance book. I saw that you like them so I bought one for you", Lucas replied.
"What!? I...me...no..no...I mean...I mean I don't really like romance books all that much." She said, blushing.

Yes! Excellent! No more threat of dying! I can finally move on from this and I even got rewards but first I have to deal with this blushing lady infront of me.
"Are you ok? Why are you stuttering?" He asked with a concerned look on his face.
"It's.... It's just... that I don't read romance stories, I swear!" She said.
"Ok. Ok. I believe you." Lucas said and reached for the book.
"What are you doing?" Lydia asked with her brows raised.
"Well. You said you didn't read romance books so I assumed you didn't want this one as well." Lucas shrugged.
"No, I'll take it." Lydia said swiftly and she pulled the book closer to her body. "Just because I don't read romance doesn't mean I'd turn down a gift from a friend."
"So you consider me a friend. How sweet of you." Lucas said with a smug look.
"No...I mean. Arrgh, why do you always irritate me like this. I'm leaving." Lydia said.
She got up and packed all her stuff in her bag before heading god knows where.
"Well, more for me, I guess." Lucas said to himself as he stuffed down what remained of both foods.
Time to check the system. I think I'll start with status.
"Status." He whispered to himself.
