Episode 1 — "The Bell Rings Twice"
The morning sun floods the school courtyard. On the surface, everything looks normal — laughter, chattering students, the sound of sneakers on concrete. But from the rooftop, Tanu notices something strange. A group of birds circling in a tight formation over the apartment building. She leans on the railing, unaware that Suhyeok is watching her from the opposite side.
Suhyeok (thinking): She's here early again.
Downstairs in the cafeteria, Guddu and Ushika are sharing breakfast. Guddu, ever the sarcastic one, teases Ushika about being late to class again. At the next table, Jungwon is half-listening, scrolling through news about a mysterious incident in another city — blurred videos of people screaming and… biting? He frowns but says nothing.
Krati barges in, laughing loudly with Niki, Jay, and Jake trailing behind. The group is loud, playful, and the kind of students who somehow know everyone in school. Tanu walks past their table, and Sunghoon — sitting quietly with his earbuds in — glances up at her briefly.
The first sign of trouble comes at 10:42 AM.
A piercing bell rings — not the usual class change bell, but a longer, sharper tone. Teachers whisper to each other. A security guard rushes across the courtyard toward the main gate.
From the apartment next door, smoke begins to rise. Students gather at windows to watch, thinking it's just a kitchen fire. Then a scream cuts through the air — raw, desperate, and far too close.
Tanu, on the second floor, sees a man sprinting across the street toward the school gate, his shirt soaked in blood. He crashes into the fence, snarling like an animal.
The headmaster's voice blares through the speakers:
> "All students, return to your classrooms. Lock the doors."
But it's already too late. The gate is open.
Suhyeok grabs Minjae's arm. "We need to move — now."
Guddu and Ushika are trapped in the courtyard, frozen as the man charges in.
Jungwon is dialing frantically — the same number he'll call later in the chaos.
Sunghoon stands up, calm but tense, eyes scanning for exits.
The camera cuts to the man's face — pupils blown wide, blood dripping from his mouth.
Then to the rooftop, where Tanu still stands, not running. Just watching.
A shadow falls over her from behind.
Black screen.
