Chapter 68 - Chapter 67: The Well-Behaved and Honest Evil God Loki

"You are also an invader." Lisa didn't care what the pretty boy in the armored robe and horned helmet was thinking. Her eyes were cold, and she subtly tightened her fingers, intending to simply kill the invader.

Feeling the pressure on his neck and the woman's undisguised murderous intent, Loki panicked. Ignoring the stinging pain, he hastily shouted, "Wait, wait, we're not enemies!"

"I'm from Asgard!"

In this life-or-death moment, Loki's words came out fluently. He feared that if he didn't explain his identity, this woman would mercilessly strangle him to death. Loki truly felt like crying.

Just as he'd hoped, after Loki hurriedly stated his identity, Lisa's murderous intent receded slightly, and her strong grip loosened.

"Asgard?"

Lisa felt as though she had heard the name before. The evolution of her life level had made her mind incredibly sharp. With a thought, she instantly recalled information about Asgard.

"Asgard from Norse mythology?" she frowned, staring at Loki and asking coldly.

Loki quickly replied, "Yes, it is Asgard. I am Loki, son of the Allfather, King of Asgard."

"The Allfather's son," Lisa mused. She wondered if the pretty boy in front of her was lying. After all, if he was the son of Odin from Norse mythology, how could he be so weak? His performance was entirely inconsistent with his claimed identity. "And that one over there," Lisa raised her other hand and pointed toward the man still fighting on the collapsing island, "is he also from Asgard, Thor?"

"Yes, he is my brother." Loki was now completely submissive, answering every question. He was genuinely afraid that this girl would decide he was lying and kill him, and he knew she would do it without a second thought, regardless of his status as Odin's son.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Explosions could be heard in the distance again. A figure wreathed in lightning shot into the sky, with Salina and several other girls quietly following. Loki, not a mortal, could clearly see the blood on the corner of Thor's mouth as he ascended, despite his cool posture.

He's already injured in such a short time? Loki was shocked again. While he looked down on Thor's intelligence, he had never doubted his strength. Thor's body was so powerful that it could be plunged into magma and feel like a simple bath. The strength of his body, combined with his divine power, meant that ordinary weapons and attacks couldn't harm him. In countless battles, Thor had relied on his indestructible body to defeat his opponents. And yet, less than a minute into this fight, he was injured and forced to take to the skies.

What were these people?

Loki felt he had stumbled upon something extraordinary. He even began to suspect these women were warriors trained by the Serpent over the years. From his perspective, no other race besides the ancient God Kings could possibly possess such power. However, the power they possessed was completely different from that of the Odinson family.

"What is the purpose of your visit to Earth?" Lisa continued her interrogation.

Loki, now alert, responded while thinking, "Midgard is ruled by Asgard..."

Before he could finish, he felt the fingers on his neck tighten slightly. He immediately shut up and changed his tune. "We are only here to investigate."

Loki, not knowing the women's true identities, didn't dare to tell the whole truth. However, despite being a master of deception, he couldn't hide his lies from Lisa. As a former Black Widow from the Red Room, she had been trained in the most professional interrogation techniques, psychological profiling, and micro-expression analysis. This, combined with her awakened cosmos, allowed her to easily detect any subtle change in Loki's tone, emotion, heartbeat, pulse, or eyes.

The moment Loki lied, she had already confirmed it.

"You're lying." Lisa exposed his lie, a thin layer of flame igniting across her body. The murderous intent in her eyes returned. This look made a bead of sweat roll down Loki's forehead. This woman was terrifyingly perceptive.

Looking up at the sky, several meteor-like figures continued to weave and collide, blasting layers of shockwaves and carving massive holes in the thick clouds. The lightning and thunder were completely out of control, exploding wildly, and the sea surged below, making the scene look like the end of the world.

Loki parted his lips, wanting to shout for Heimdall to summon the Bifrost, but he knew the Bifrost had a time delay. He might be killed before it could arrive.

Loki was afraid of death, but not in the conventional sense. He was afraid to die because he believed his legendary journey had just begun. He wanted his name to be known throughout the universe, to become the brightest and most dazzling star in the history of the Odinson family. He couldn't die before he embarked on that journey.

His brain raced, and finally, Loki said in a low voice, "Thor and I came to Midgard to investigate something."

Lisa stared coldly at the lying boy without a word, but Loki knew better. He continued, "My brother Thor had a prophetic dream. He dreamed of a massive fear-disaster spreading to the Nine Realms. Our duty is to maintain the stability of the Nine Realms, so we came to Midgard to investigate the source."

Loki spoke with complete sincerity. He was gambling that these women were not warriors of the Serpent. Whether he won or lost, the outcome couldn't be any worse.

He stared at Lisa, who stared back expressionlessly for a few seconds before slightly loosening her grip. Loki fell to the ground, coughing. He instinctively wanted to cast a spell and flee, but Lisa was watching him, her expression a clear warning that if he dared to move, she would kill him. Loki felt helpless and reluctantly abandoned the idea.

What a difficult woman, he cursed in his heart.

"It's a shame there's a powerful magic protecting your mind, so I can't read your memory," Lisa said regretfully. Loki's mouth twitched.
