Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 Persuasion by Persuasion

As soon as these words were uttered, everyone present fell silent, as the night the Chief's wife was taken by the Dragon felt like only yesterday.

Everyone had seen Chief Stoick's heartbroken look, and they also understood why Stoick could become the strongest Dragon Slayer.

It was not only to protect Berk Island, but more so to avenge the Chief's wife!

Hiccup also knew that even though he knew the plot and that his mother, whom he had never met, was still alive, telling Stoick now would be impossible for him to believe.

Therefore, Hiccup could only do the opposite and provoke Stoick in other ways.

"Good! Since the Chief wants to kill the Dragon! I won't stop him!" Hiccup said with a very calm expression.

Then, Hiccup stood on the back of the Terrible Terror, slowly ascending under everyone's gaze.

"Oh my god! This is actually true, Hiccup really became a Dragon Knight!"

"Hiccup actually tamed a Dragon, this is simply incredible!"

"If we had a Dragon, how could we have come back so disheveled!"

"If I had a Dragon, I would definitely be able to kill more Dragons!"

These recently returned Viking Warriors were all shocked by Hiccup's actions, and what filled their eyes more was envy.

Stoick looked at Hiccup standing on the Dragon's back and murmured, "What is he going to do!?"

"Roar~~~!"

A roar from the Terrible Terror immediately silenced all the Viking Warriors present, because when they heard a Dragon roar, they would instinctively pick up their weapons and prepare for battle.

After all, all their fighting skills were honed against Dragons.

Hiccup, under everyone's gaze, loudly declared, "Chief, you are not only my father, but also the Chief of the entire Berk Island! You must not only protect me, but also protect the entire Berk Island!"

"But look at what you've done!?"

Stoick was immediately confused, not understanding what Hiccup meant by saying these things, so he shrugged his shoulders, indicating that he had done nothing wrong.

Hiccup, however, loudly questioned, "You took all the warriors out to sea, neither finding the Dragon Nest nor killing the Dragons, but instead being toyed with by the Dragons at sea!"

"Ask yourself, are you a qualified Chief!? You don't even know where the enemy is, you only know how to charge bravely, and in the end, you let these innocent villagers get hurt with you!"

After the villagers heard Hiccup's words, they suddenly felt as if all their strength had been drained, because only now did they realize that their trip out this time had been meaningless.

Let alone the Dragon Nest, they didn't even kill the few Dragons they encountered on the way!

Stoick was questioned, and by his own son, his face immediately darkened, because this made him, as Chief, lose a lot of face.

Hiccup naturally understood this principle, but this cheap dad always reprimanded him in public, so what he was doing was nothing, at most it was just evening the score.

Stoick defiantly said, "As Chief, of course I must protect the safety of Berk Island and eliminate all Dragons that threaten the safety of Berk Island!"

Hiccup loudly questioned, "What's the result!? Please tell me the result!"

"How many ancestors on Berk Island went out to sea to find the Dragon Nest, and what was the final outcome!?"

These words further disheartened the Viking Warriors who had already suffered a defeat. They even lost the desire to fight.

There's no way, how can you fight when you don't even know where the enemy is!?

Hiccup squatted on the back of the Terrible Terror, looked at Stoick and asked, "What's more, it was a Dragon that took mother, not the entire Dragon pack!"

Upon hearing this, Stoick suddenly looked up, staring at Hiccup from a distance, one high and one low.

Stoick killed every Dragon he saw precisely because he didn't know which Dragon had taken his wife, and he would never show mercy.

Hiccup gently said, "Father! We will avenge our grievances! But we cannot involve innocent people!"

Then, Hiccup stood up and shouted loudly to the Viking Warriors below, "Everyone, listen to me!"

"If all the villagers on our island can become Dragon Knights, then Dragons will no longer dare to come to Berk Island to snatch sheep! We will also be able to ride Dragons and continue to fight!"

"When we go out to sea again, if we encounter sea monsters, or if we encounter Dragons, we can directly fight; we won't be like you are now, passively taking hits on the sea, without even a chance to fight back!"

"And! Only Dragons can find their Dragon King, and only they can lead us to the Dragon Nest!"

"What!?" Upon hearing this, Stoick's previously dim eyes suddenly lit up.

He quickly took two steps forward and said, "Hiccup, you just said you can use a Dragon to find the Dragon Nest!?"

Hiccup smiled faintly and said, "Not me! But it!"

As he spoke, he pointed to the Terrible Terror beneath his feet, but the Terrible Terror proudly raised its head, seemingly unwilling to bother with Stoick.

Stoick directly jumped up and grabbed the Terrible Terror's Dragon horn, roaring, "Where is the Dragon Nest!? Take me there now!"

Looking at Stoick's frantic appearance, the villagers around them had very complex feelings, even though these Viking Warriors were very stubborn and adventurous.

However, human nature is selfish; who would be willing to make a meaningless sacrifice!?

The Terrible Terror closed its eyes and lay on the ground, playing dead, completely ignoring Stoick.

Stoick looked at Hiccup and said, "Hiccup, quickly make it take us to the Dragon Nest! As long as all the Dragons are killed, Berk Island will no longer have to fear Dragons!"

"No! I won't take you and the villagers to your deaths!" Hiccup directly refused.

However, Stoick shouted loudly, "Adventure is the nature of Vikings, how could we be afraid of death!?"

"Vikings never back down!"

Despite Stoick raising his arms and shouting, the surrounding Viking Warriors all averted their gaze, unwilling to look into Stoick's eyes.

"You!" Stoick stood in place, very angry, but unable to speak.

Hiccup, on the other hand, jumped down, originally intending to pat Stoick's shoulder, but he was too tall, so he could only turn around and say to the villagers, "Vikings can fill forests, conquer raging seas; no matter what difficulties, Vikings will not back down!"

"If we can all become Dragon Knights, then Berk Island will be even stronger!"

"At that time, we can not only ride Dragons to explore further places, but also better protect Berk Island, not only resisting Dragons, but also resisting those pirates who only burn, kill, and loot!"

"So now! Who is willing to join the Dragon Knight team! And protect Berk Island with me, protect the home we rely on for survival!?"
