Chapter 34 - Chapter 34 This is just the beginning

Watching all the Timberjack Dragons look at Hiccup in unison, and all the villagers look at Hiccup with envy, in their hearts, Hiccup alone could command all the Dragons.

Hiccup hadn't expected these Timberjack Dragons to be so disciplined; they looked as if they had been trained.

The oldest Timberjack Dragon lowered its proud head to Hiccup and said, "Human! You truly didn't lie to us! Also, on behalf of my tribe, I express my gratitude to you!"

Hiccup waved his hand and said, "It's nothing! I'll need your help in a bit!"

"Don't hesitate, eat quickly!"

"Roar~!"

At the old Dragon's command, all the Timberjack Dragons each took a position, then coiled on the ground like pythons with their wings retracted, leisurely eating sea fish with their proud heads held high.

The villagers on Berk Island couldn't help but exclaim, "These Dragons are simply gentlemen!"

"Yes! It's my first time seeing Dragons eat!"

"How much sea fish can these Dragons eat in one meal? Should we go back and get some more?"

The villagers chattered away, their generosity stemming from their desire to become riders of these Timberjack Dragons.

These Timberjack Dragons could not only breathe fire but also had incredibly sharp wings, making them true blade warriors of the sky!

Hiccup saw the villagers' gazes and naturally knew their desires, but he didn't say much because the time wasn't right yet.

Even Chief Stoick walked over and asked, "Who do you plan to assign these Dragons to?!"

Upon hearing this, the villagers became even more excited, raising their arms and saying, "Hiccup Warrior, please assign this Timberjack Dragon to me! I will definitely take good care of them!"

"Hiccup Warrior, assign them to me! That way, I will definitely become the strongest warrior on Berk Island!"

"As long as Hiccup Warrior assigns these Dragons to me, I will definitely bring glory to Berk Island!"

The villagers chattered away, but Hiccup didn't agree to anyone, merely stating, "Whether these Timberjack Dragons are willing to be your companions is not something I can decide!"

The reason Hiccup wouldn't agree directly was because he felt that the old Dragon could probably understand human speech, given its age, and it had even seen through the relationship between him and Astrid so clearly. He didn't dare to bet on whether it could understand human speech.

Sure enough, the oldest Timberjack Dragon subtly glanced at Hiccup, thinking that Hiccup, surrounded by villagers, wouldn't notice it at all.

But that momentary look was still caught by Hiccup, as the old Dragon was wary of Hiccup, and Hiccup was equally wary of the old Dragon.

The old Dragon felt much more at ease after hearing Hiccup's words, fearing that Hiccup would forcibly keep them.

"Roar~~~~!"

When all the Timberjack Dragons were about eighty percent full, the old Dragon let out a long Dragon roar.

All the Timberjack Dragons stopped eating fish, all licked their teeth, and then let out satisfied Dragon roars towards the sky.

Hiccup actually understood that these Timberjack Dragons were saying, "They haven't eaten so full in a long time!"

"After this meal, we won't need to eat for at least half a month!"

"The humans on this island are truly friendly. It would be great if we could live on this island!"

These words reached Hiccup's ears, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but curve slightly upwards. He thought to himself, "It truly is the habit of snakes; after one meal, they don't need to hunt for a long time!"

Hiccup looked at these Timberjack Dragons and said, "Have you all eaten your fill?!"

"I keep my word; you must eat your fill!"

However, these Timberjack Dragons clearly hadn't eaten enough, so they all looked at the old Dragon.

The old Dragon glared at these Timberjack Dragons, then said to Hiccup, "We have eaten our fill! Thank you for your invitation!"

Hiccup also said without ceremony, "In that case, the forest on Crow Ridge to the east is entrusted to you all!"

"Only the trees on the lower slopes can be cut; the taller trees must not be cut down!"

Although the Timberjack Dragons didn't understand what Hiccup meant, they still puffed out their proud chests and said, "Don't worry! We guarantee to complete the task!"

With that, the old Dragon led the Timberjack Dragons directly into the air, flying towards Crow Ridge.

The reason for this requirement was threefold: first, of course, for sustainable development. If all the forests were cut down, they would have to move to another island to survive! Seeds must be left behind!

Second, these forests also serve to block strong winds, and keeping the forests at higher elevations can provide some warmth.

The third reason is that after the forests in the lower areas are cut down, the land can be cleared for farming!

Although Berk Island is located within the Arctic Circle, with basically nine months of severe cold and three months of ice and snow, now that Dragons exist, if there are more Dragons, the temperature of Berk Island can be raised.

Secondly, being by the sea, there are abundant resources that can be utilized. As long as greenhouses are built, vegetables and other crops can be grown.

Even if greenhouses cannot be built, the middle of Crow Ridge can be hollowed out, and Dragons can maintain flames in the cave every day.

As long as the location is controlled well, an artificial volcano can be created.

And with vegetables, Berk Island will definitely become the wealthiest entity among the surrounding islands. At that time, these vegetable resources and Dragon resources can be used to expand the army.

Now, with these Timberjack Dragons starting to work, it's a beautiful beginning.

Watching rows of large trees being felled, the smile on Hiccup's face lingered for a long time.

The villagers on Berk Island watched the Timberjack Dragons working, and they too excitedly said, "Great! With these trees, we can repair the longships!"

"Exactly! We can also build new houses!"

"Wonderful! With this wood, we won't have to shiver from the cold in winter!"

Every villager on Berk Island knew the importance of wood, and at the same time, realized the importance of these Timberjack Dragons.

So when they looked at Hiccup, their eyes were filled with even more admiration.

Vaguely, they had even come to regard Hiccup as the guardian of Berk Island.

Stoick looked at everything before him and murmured, "If the villagers were to cut trees, even a month wouldn't yield as many trees as these Dragons cut!"

"Hiccup, you have truly rendered a great service to Berk Island! To be honest, I am truly proud of you!"

Stoick praised Hiccup very rarely. Gobber, seeing such a loving father and son scene, immediately felt his eyes well up.

Stoick then asked somewhat puzzled, "Oh! Odin above, what do I see? The great Gobber the Warrior is actually crying! This is simply incredible!"
