Chapter 30 - 30

In the beginning, Rogge thought Obadiah was quite generous, writing a check for ten million without a second thought.

But after hearing Obadiah's words, he retracted his previous assessment.

Ten million US dollars a year, this salary is indeed an astronomical figure that exists only in imagination for ordinary people.

But for him, this price was simply an insult.

So he didn't even have the interest to answer Obadiah, shaking his head casually.

After Obadiah left, Rogge handed the check in the drawer to Erica and said, "Go cash this check, and use the money inside for the office's operating expenses."

After hearing Rogge's words, Erica was stunned for a moment.

Just a few days ago, Rogge had given her a bank card with five million US dollars.

Only a few days had passed, and Rogge gave her another check for ten million US dollars, with the same reason as before, the office's operating expenses.

Although Erica wasn't very clear about what Rogge was thinking, she was now certain that Rogge definitely didn't open this office to make money.

After Erica left, Rogge picked up a newspaper on his desk and started flipping through it boredly.

The date of the newspaper was the latest, obviously prepared by Erica.

Although Erica didn't have any assistant experience before, and didn't even have a decent work experience, she still worked hard to learn how to become a qualified assistant.

Of course, if ninja counts as a profession, then her experience is quite rich.

Rogge originally planned to flip through the newspaper to pass the time, but an article in the newspaper caught his attention.

"Fisk Tower Biological Laboratory Invaded Late at Night, 15 Security Guards Dead!"

Fisk Tower?

Could this be what the Punisher Frank did?

Thinking of the scene where the Punisher Frank appeared inexplicably at Fisk Tower last night, Rogge became more certain that this invasion was done by him.

After making the three-challenge agreement with the Punisher, he had been waiting for the Punisher's actions.

However, the Punisher seemed to have completely forgotten about this matter, and had no intention of attacking him at all, not even the slightest interest in approaching the office.

Although he didn't know what the Punisher was planning, Rogge wasn't worried about his life at all.

If he was really that easy to be attacked, he would have died in those strange retaliations long ago.

Just as Rogge was considering whether to have Erica bring back some Chinese food on the way, the door of the office was pushed open again.

It wasn't a client who came in, but a delivery boy in a Federal Express uniform.

"Are you Mr. Rogge? Here's a package for you."

A delivery boy delivering a package to the door, this was originally a very normal thing.

But after hearing the delivery boy's words, Rogge immediately noticed something was wrong.

There may be many people who know his office address, but no one would send a package here.

Rogge came to the delivery boy like a flash, directly took the package, and then used the kunai he carried to open the package.

"Sir, you haven't signed for it yet, you don't..."

Before the delivery boy could finish speaking, he saw the countdown timer in the box, a time bomb that was less than three minutes away from exploding.

"I won't sign the name, you can take it back if you don't want to."

After hearing Rogge's words, the shocked delivery boy finally came back to his senses, quickly shook his head, and then ran away without looking back.

After seeing the time bomb, Rogge's first reaction was that the bomb was sent by the Punisher.

But then he thought that the Punisher wouldn't use such an idiotic way to attack him.

Just as he was about to take the bomb to ask the Punisher himself, he saw the newspaper that he had casually placed on the table.

An almost intuitive idea instantly appeared in his mind.

.....

Sensing the Flying Thunder God Technique mark on the Punisher, Rogge appeared directly in front of him with the bomb.

The Punisher didn't show any surprise at Rogge's arrival, as if he had expected him to come.

Seeing the bomb in Rogge's hand, which was only a few tens of seconds away from exploding, the Punisher took out a remote control and pressed the red button on it.

At the moment when the Punisher pressed the button, the timer on the bomb instantly returned to zero.

No explosion, no flames, only prank-like smoke.

After the timer returned to zero, white smoke sprayed out from the hidden small holes on the bomb, and a Christmas song started playing at the same time.

In the cheerful rhythm of the Christmas song, the Punisher stood up from the chair, silently came to Rogge, and took the prank bomb from his hand.

"This is a prank bomb bought in a toy store. Sending this to you is just to get you to come here in person!"

The Punisher's tone was very calm, as if he was really just joking with Rogge.

Rogge didn't speak, just silently looked at the somewhat abnormal Punisher in front of him.

"I have seriously considered your last suggestion. Letting you come here is just to tell you my decision."

The Punisher walked as he spoke, directly came to the refrigerator in the corner of the room, took out two bottles of beer from it, and then casually threw a bottle to Rogge.

After taking the beer thrown by the Punisher, Rogge casually found a chair and sat down.

He wanted to hear what decision the Punisher had made.

The Punisher didn't tell Rogge directly, but sat on a cot not far from Rogge.

"This is an abandoned freighter. The owner here was originally a Russian gang. After punishing them, I think this place is pretty good, so I transformed it into one of my secret bases."

After speaking, the Punisher opened the beer in his hand, silently took a few sips, and then continued, "Although the environment here is not very good, the advantage is that it is quiet and no one disturbs."

The Punisher seemed to be reminiscing about something, and a trace of tenderness appeared on his face when he said these words.

Looking at the Punisher's appearance at this time, Rogge didn't know what to say for a moment, so he had to continue playing the listener.

In the next few minutes, the Punisher continued to talk about things, but he never mentioned what his decision was.

Perhaps it was because this place was a freighter cabin, Rogge felt a trace of stuffiness.

In order to relieve this uncomfortable stuffiness, he had to open the cold beer in his hand and silently took a few sips.
