Chapter 2 - Curious eyes 1.

"Elderglen. A fantasy village where women were built differently. With fascinating forms that emerge once every seven to ten days a month. However, some forms, though already being built differently, are turned into creatures built even more differently."

"You don't have to make it so complicated, honey." Dina commented.

"I need it to sound mysterious, love. My book must be perfect!" Rain was on his desk, writing with glittering passion. His wife placed his cup of hot coffee next to him and observed him with a warm smile, filled with love.

"Drink this. It should give you a boost of energy." She warmly kissed the top of his head.

"Oh, Love." He held her hand, softly. "You should be resting during this time, you're on your transformation." He slowly kissed it, finger by finger.

"It's alright, honey. Making one cup of coffee wouldn't bring Nightmare out from his slumber." She joked. Rain smiled with a quiet chuckle.

"Well…" He carefully pulled her and sat her down on his lap. "Might as well enjoy this break with you here." He held her by the waist, making sure she wouldn't fall back.

He took a sip as his eyes closed, allowing his two other senses to enjoy the hot drink.

"Uuh!" His sigh could tell it all. It sent pleasuring signals to his wife.

"Is it good?" She smiled.

"It was made with these beautiful hands," He kissed her hand again, "how come it wouldn't be good?" His words made her giggle shyingly; her right eye exposed what her heart covered as well.

"Oh, how much I love it when her eye does that! It's always… fascinating!"

"Happy you liked it." Dina placed her hands on his cheeks and pressed them together playfully.

The two enjoyed their time together until, suddenly.

"Ugh!" Dina clutched her right eye in pain.

"What's wrong?!" Rain, with his eyes fixed on her, worried sick, and quickly put the cup on the desk.

"Hehe… D–don't worry, honey… It's just…" She could hardly speak, "It's just transformation cramps…" The light in her eye flickered, like a light bulb that was about to shut down.

"You need to take some rest, love." Rain scooped her up effortlessly, one arm beneath her knees and the other behind her back, then took her to the bedroom.

"Careful now." He gently and slowly put her on the bed, then covered her with the blanket.

"Thank you, honey." Her voice's volume went down as she snuggled under the cover.

"Stay in bed, okay. I'll go bring you something to help you with your cramps."

"Okay… honey, thank you… May Allah protect you."

Rain quickly changed, grabbed his wallet, and headed to the herbs store.

After fourteen minutes of fast walking, he reached his destination.

"Assalamu'alaykum." The bell rang as he opened the door.

"Wa'alaykumu ssalam! Welcome!" Greeted the seller, then Rain stepped in with a smile.

"Thank you."

"What may I help you with, fine sir?!" The seller, with a wide smile, walked out of the checkout counter and headed straight to him.

"Uhm, do you have paillers?" He asked as his eyes scanned the counters around him. They were filled with a bunch of colorful ingredients. Dried herbs, natural powders, roots, seeds, spices, handmade herbal products, and natural remedies, all placed in beautiful baskets.

"We have everything, alhamduli Llah! How much do you need?"

Meanwhile, Dina was having a difficult time with her cramps. Her hand was on her right eye this whole time, clutching it hard in an attempt to ease the pain. Suddenly.

"Oh no! Rain would probably buy some pailler herbs! I forgot to tell him that I'm pailers intolerant!"

She slowly sat on the bed as she remembered.

"The herbal shop is pretty far from here. I don't want him coming all the way back for nothing." She removed the blanket.

"I must head to him fast before he arrives."

Dina stood up, but with her back a little bent. She couldn't stand straight, for the pain in her eye increased. She slowly stepped to her wardrobe, put on her hijab and long dress, took her keys, then headed out.

On the road, the eyes of the people were filled with curiosity, but with her thick black smoke around her body, Dina ignored them as usual.

"Ya Allah! People of Tilan are worse than the ones in my village!" She observed their stares as she hid her eye with her hand.

"Ugh! I need to hurry!" She walked a little faster, "I also have to buy eye pads. They ran out from my last transformation. Ukh! I told Rain to buy me some, but he forgot."

At the herbal shop, Rain and the seller were smiling at each other.

"How much is it?" Rain was standing tall as he held his wallet in his hand.

"That'll be a hundred and fifty Dirhams."

Vrochi took the money and handed it to the seller.

"May Allah bless you, fine sir!"

"Thank you, you too!" Rain grabbed the bag of herbs then left the shop.

As he walked, he checked the inside of the bag.

"Did I buy too much?" He carefully examined what he bought.

"I hope these will help." He mumbled in worry.

On the other side, Dina had walked for ten minutes. They may not seem like a lot, but to her, they felt like a whole hour.

"Oh, God!" She stopped to take a little breather as she held her back.

"That was a terrible idea!" She was hardly breathing.

"I wish to run into him right now, so that he lifts me up again! Ugh! I can't walk anymore!"

She looked around for a bit and saw a wooden bench near her.

"Ugh! Alhamduli Llah!" She sighed, then walked to it. The moment she reached it, she threw herself on it and sat down.

"Ya Allah!" A sigh of relief escaped through her voice.

Suddenly, "Excuse me, Mame?" A masculine voice called.
