I arrived home in less than twenty minutes and knocked on Angel's door. That sounds really eerie quiet. I kept chanting over and over that I'm doing this for Elijah.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Then Angel opens the door with a grouchy look, saying, 'What? Don't waste my time.' kind of look.
I nearly wanted to clench my hands and throttle this fool's throat and said, "Hey, didn't you want to go shopping?"
Angel narrowed his eyes into suspicion, and he looked both ways into the hall like he expected to see someone to come to scare him or spook him or something like that. "What, don't tell me you're taking me to the store?"
I thought, fuck it. I'm not going to sugar-coat. "Yeah, your dad wants me to take you shopping, and I said yes. So go get dressed, or I'll be leaving in five minutes."
His green eyes widened in surprise, and he looked down at his clothes that had SpongeBob on them with white pajamas, and he gave me a silent glare before closing the door.
