Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: An Unfamiliar Battlefield

Dragon Ball Super: A Rift in Dimensions - Chapter 1: An Unfamiliar Battlefield

The clash of gods shook the very foundations of existence. Goku, engulfed in the crimson aura of Super Saiyan God, traded blows with Beerus, the Destroyer. Each impact threatened to shatter the planet, each burst of energy illuminated the sky with apocalyptic brilliance. The Z Fighters, huddled together on the sidelines, could only watch in awe and terror as the fate of their world hung precariously in the balance.

"Haaaaa!" Goku roared, launching a furious barrage of punches at Beerus. The God of Destruction, though impressed by Goku's power, effortlessly deflected each blow with a bored yawn.

"Is that all you've got, Saiyan?" Beerus taunted, a flicker of amusement in his violet eyes. "I expected more from a Super Saiyan God."

Suddenly, the air shimmered and distorted above them. A swirling vortex of chaotic energy ripped open the sky, momentarily eclipsing even the divine energy of Beerus. The phenomenon was so sudden and unexpected that even the God of Destruction paused in his assault, his brow furrowed in curiosity.

"What in the world…?" Beerus muttered, his attention drawn to the anomaly.

Goku, taking advantage of the distraction, leaped back, panting heavily. "What's going on?" he asked, his eyes wide with confusion.

From the heart of the swirling vortex, a figure plummeted towards the battlefield like a meteor. The figure crashed into the ocean with a thunderous roar, sending colossal tidal waves crashing towards the shore. The impact was so powerful that it shook the entire planet.

As the water subsided, a figure slowly rose from the depths, his silhouette outlined against the setting sun. He was battered, bruised, and his clothes were torn, but there was an undeniable aura of strength and determination radiating from him.

It was Goku… but older, more weathered. His spiky hair was longer, reaching down his back, and his face was etched with the scars of countless battles. He wore a torn blue gi, and his tail swished behind him, a clear indication of his Saiyan heritage.

GT Goku, disoriented and confused, took in the scene before him. He saw a younger version of himself, engulfed in a strange red aura, and a cat-like figure radiating an immense, almost suffocating power. He recognized the familiar faces of his friends – Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo, and the others – but they were younger, different somehow.

"What… where am I?" GT Goku muttered, his voice raspy and hoarse. He clutched his aching head, trying to make sense of the situation. He remembered fighting a powerful foe in his own timeline, a battle that had pushed him to his limits. But how had he ended up here, in this strange and unfamiliar place?

His eyes narrowed as he focused on the cat-like figure, the one radiating the overwhelming power. He felt an instinctive sense of danger, a primal warning that screamed at him to prepare for battle.

The sudden appearance of another Goku sent ripples of confusion and disbelief through the Z Fighters. They stared, mouths agape, at the battered Saiyan who had emerged from the ocean depths.

"Goku? There's… another Goku?" Krillin stammered, his eyes wide with disbelief.

"Impossible! How can there be two of him?" Piccolo questioned, his brow furrowed in thought.

Even Vegeta, the Saiyan Prince, was momentarily stunned. "Kakarot… what is the meaning of this?" he growled, his pride wounded by the presence of another, potentially stronger, version of his rival.

Super Saiyan God Goku, mid-stance, paused his battle with Beerus, his crimson aura flickering with curiosity. "Whoa… another me? What's going on?"

Beerus, equally intrigued, stepped back, his violet eyes narrowed in amusement. "Well, this is certainly an unexpected development," he purred. "Two Saiyans for the price of one. How delightful."

GT Goku, ignoring the stunned reactions of the Z Fighters, focused his attention on Beerus. He sensed the immense power radiating from the God of Destruction, the threat he posed to this world. He quickly pieced together the situation: the younger version of himself, the unfamiliar surroundings, the sheer power of Beerus… it all pointed to one conclusion.

"This isn't my timeline, is it?" GT Goku muttered, his eyes scanning the unfamiliar landscape. "I must have been transported to another dimension… or perhaps another time."

He remembered the stories he had heard from the Supreme Kai about the Gods of Destruction, beings of immense power who were responsible for maintaining the balance of the universe. He recognized Beerus as one of those gods, a being capable of wiping out entire planets with a mere flick of his wrist.

"So, that's Beerus the Destroyer," GT Goku said, his voice hardening with determination. "I don't know why I'm here, but I can't let him destroy this planet."

Without hesitation, GT Goku powered up, his ki exploding outwards in a torrent of golden energy. His muscles bulged, his hair lengthened and turned a vibrant shade of gold, and his eyes glowed with fierce determination. He transformed into a Super Saiyan.

The earth trembled. Gohan, along with the other Z Fighters, struggled to maintain his footing as GT Goku's power erupted. The sheer force of the energy was almost unbearable, pressing down on them like an invisible weight.

"What… what is this power?" Gohan gasped, his eyes wide with disbelief. He had sensed immense power before – from Cell, from Buu, from even his own hidden potential – but this was different. This was raw, untamed, almost primal.

Vegeta scoffed. "Hmph, just a Super Saiyan? Kakarot has already surpassed that form long ago."

But GT Goku wasn't finished. He roared, pushing his power even further. His golden aura intensified, his hair grew even longer, and a crimson fur-like coat sprouted across his torso. His eyes turned a piercing shade of gold, and a red outline appeared around his eyes. He had achieved Super Saiyan 4.

The Z Fighters were stunned into silence. They had never seen a transformation like this before. The raw power radiating from GT Goku was unlike anything they had ever experienced.

Vegeta stood rigid, his arms crossed, a scowl etched deep into his features. The appearance of another Kakarot was already an insult, a blatant disregard for his own Saiyan pride. But this… this was something else entirely.

As GT Goku's power surged, transforming him into a being unlike anything Vegeta had ever witnessed, the Saiyan Prince's carefully constructed facade of stoicism began to crack. His eyes widened almost imperceptibly, his jaw tightened, and a low growl rumbled in his chest

"Impossible…" Vegeta muttered, his voice barely audible above the roaring energy. "What is that form?"

He remember goku attain this transformation in demon realm experiencing the power of super saiyan 4 firsthand. He even briefly tasted Super Saiyan 3, pushing past his own limitations. But this transformation radiating from the other Kakarot felt… wrong. It was a power that felt… ancient. Primal. A connection to the Saiyan race's roots, to the Great Ape form that had once defined their existence. It was a power that defied logic, a power that seemed to draw strength from the very essence of being a Saiyan.

It's… disgusting, Vegeta thought, his lip curling in disdain. To rely on such a barbaric, uncontrolled power. It's an insult to the Saiyan race!

But despite his outward contempt, Vegeta couldn't deny the sheer power that GT Goku possessed. He could feel it, pressing down on him, a tangible force that threatened to overwhelm his own carefully honed strength.

Kakarot, you infuriating simpleton! Vegeta fumed inwardly. Always finding new ways to humiliate me! Always dragging the Saiyan race through the mud with your ridiculous antics! Always finding new ways to surpass me! Always pushing the boundaries of what's possible!

He clenched his fists, his nails digging into his palms. He had spent his entire life striving to be the strongest, to surpass Kakarot, to reclaim his rightful place as the Saiyan Prince. But every time he thought he was close, Kakarot would find a way to leap ahead, to achieve a new level of power that seemed unattainable.

I refuse to be outdone, Vegeta vowed, his eyes burning with fierce determination. I will surpass this power. I will find a way to reach even greater heights. I will not be left behind!

He glanced at Kakarot, who was now joining forces with the alternate version of himself to battle Beerus. He could see the excitement in Kakarot's eyes, the thrill of the challenge, the joy of pushing himself to the limit.

He's enjoying this, Vegeta realized, his scowl deepening. He's actually enjoying being outmatched!

The thought infuriated him. He couldn't understand Kakarot's insatiable desire for battle, his willingness to embrace any challenge, no matter how dangerous. He preferred to train in solitude, honing his skills, perfecting his technique, striving for a controlled, refined power.

But now, seeing the raw, untamed power of Super Saiyan 4, Vegeta couldn't help but wonder if he was missing something. Was there something to be gained from embracing the primal instincts of the Saiyan race? Was there a hidden potential that he had been ignoring?

"Super Saiyan… 4?" Super Goku muttered, his eyes wide with disbelief, his voice barely a whisper. The memory of the power, the primal connection to his Saiyan heritage, was still fresh in his mind. But it was a power he had lost, a power that had been granted to him by Neva's magic and then taken away just as quickly .

But… how? Goku wondered, his mind racing. He remembered the ritual, the surge of energy, the feeling of becoming something more, something… ancient. But that was in the Demon Realm, with Neva's help. How could this other version of himself access that power here, in this place ?

He looked at his hands, clenching and unclenching them. He could still feel a faint echo of the Super Saiyan 4's power within him, a ghost of the transformation that had briefly made him feel like a true Saiyan again. But it was gone, locked away.

Beerus, however, was intrigued. "Interesting," he purred. "So, you can transform as well. Let's see if you're as strong as you look."

GT Goku didn't waste any time. He launched himself at Beerus, his fist cocked back, ready to strike. "I won't let you destroy this planet!" he roared.

Beerus smirked and effortlessly blocked GT Goku's punch. The force of the impact sent shockwaves through the air, but the God of Destruction remained unfazed.

"Impressive power," Beerus admitted, "but it's not enough to defeat a god."

GT Goku continued his assault, unleashing a flurry of punches and kicks. Beerus easily dodged and deflected each blow, his movements fluid and graceful.

Seeing his alternate self struggling, Super Goku realized that he couldn't stand by and watch. "Hey, wait up!" he shouted, powering up to Super Saiyan God once again. "I'll help you out!"

Super Goku joined the fight, teaming up with GT Goku against Beerus. The two Saiyans, despite their different styles and power levels, began to coordinate their attacks. Super Goku used his speed and agility to distract Beerus, while GT Goku unleashed powerful, direct blows.

"Alright, let's do this!" Super Goku grinned, his crimson aura flaring brightly. "Together, we can take him down!"

The two Gokus, side by side, faced the God of Destruction, ready to defend their planet, their friends, and their families. The battle for the fate of Earth had taken an unexpected turn, and the outcome was now more uncertain than ever.
