Azure was shocked by the monster's speed. The monster suddenly jumped, opening its claws as it closed in. Azure ducked instinctively, and the monster passed over him.
He was breathing quickly due to fear as he looked behind him at the monster. The monster stared at Azure with anger and hatred; its face and body were full of cuts and torture marks. The monster opened its claws wider and prepared to jump again.
Lycarius spoke sharply, "Run away quickly! This monster isn't chasing out of hunger, but out of revenge!"
Although Azure's body was still aching from the fall and had minor injuries, he was forced to turn and run quickly. Eve, scan the rooms and find any weapon that might help.
Eve began trying to expand the scanning range quickly. The monster had already started chasing Azure and was getting closer.
[Eve found a room on master's left, Room 12B.]
Azure looked around quickly and realised he had passed the room! He cursed internally as he turned.
As soon as he turned, he found the monster's claw right in front of his face. He instinctively moved his face to the side quickly, and the claw passed by a hair's breadth! He ducked and ran behind the monster.
The monster was surprised by Azure's ability to dodge its attack twice. It glanced at him with the corner of its eye, adjusted its body again. More scales began to appear on the monster's body, and small spikes emerged on its back. It growled weakly as it chased Azure again.
Azure ran and entered the room. Eve enhanced Azure's vision to X-ray. He found a pistol in one of the desk drawers.
Azure moved quickly toward the desk, but suddenly felt a massive pain in his back. He screamed suddenly as he hurried forward. The monster moved swiftly, striking Azure's back with its claws.
Azure grabbed a chair and threw it at the monster to slow it down, then jumped over the desk to get closer quickly. He opened the drawer, but before he could grab the pistol, the monster closed in and tried to strike again. Azure ducked to avoid the monster's blow, causing the monster to press on the desk, trying to grab Azure.
The desk was about to fall on him. He lay on the ground, using his feet to hold the desk while trying to reach the drawer with the pistol, dodging the monster's random swings.
His feet began to ache from the monster's strength. After several seconds of suffering and pain, he finally managed to grab the pistol. As soon as he held it, he crouched more to flip the desk behind him. He quickly adjusted his body and moved from under the monster's feet.
As soon as he grabbed the pistol, Eve activated an enhanced vision mode, which would help Azure use the pistol with his best current accuracy.
The monster turned around and saw Azure had rolled away, now facing it after emerging from under its feet. Azure waited for the monster to turn to land a direct shot in its eye. He pulled the trigger, breathing quickly and afraid.
The bullet hit the monster's right eye directly. The monster roared in pain, clutching its eye. It looked at Azure with anger but found another bullet had hit its other eye.
Overcome by fear, Azure stood quickly, pressing the trigger hysterically. The monster sustained multiple hits and stopped caring, moving swiftly to attack Azure. Azure didn't run, he waited until the monster struck, ducked low to avoid the blow, aimed the pistol's muzzle into the monster's mouth, and fired.
The monster's movements slowed for a moment, then it fell to the ground dead. Azure stood still, pointing the pistol at the monster, afraid it might move at any moment.
[No need for master to worry, there's no life energy left in the monster.]
As soon as he heard Eve's voice, he began to calm down. Lowered the pistol slowly and sat on the ground to catch his breath. That was close!
Vladimir thought about a different matter, "Although it was good, how did you manage to dodge the monster's attacks three times? And you were so calm, able to think quickly of more than one solution, despite being someone who lost his memories in a strange world for less than 24 hours!"
Azure tried to steady his rapid breathing. His face was frowning due to the pain as he tried to touch the wound on his back. He replied to Vladimir with a frown, "My memories have started returning." Then he smiled sarcastically, "I remembered I was a pro gamer and loved reading fantasy novels, so I could recall what mc in novels and movies did in such situations."
Vladimir frowned, about to speak, but Azure quickly interrupted, "Anyway, Eve, can you tell me exactly what you can do so I'm aware of your capabilities?"
[Of course, if it's master's request, Eve will transfer all information directly to master's mind. It might be painful.] The transfer process began immediately, and Azure felt a sharp sting in his mind, reminding him of the last time she transferred combat arts information.
The pain faded slowly after a minute. Azure was shocked by what she could do, speaking in amazement, "Isn't that a bit too much?!"
[Eve is currently in a very weak state, so most of these capabilities don't work.]
Azure nodded in understanding as he stood, not wanting to waste much time.
[By the way, Eve has hacked some of the 'System's' capabilities and copied them for herself.]
As soon as she finished, transparent blue screens began to float in the air in front of Azure.
[Status Window]

He looked at the first window in confusion, "I already know my name and age... thank you?"
[Eve is still working on it, please, master, look at the other windows.] For the first time, Azure heard a strange tone, as if she rolled her eyes and spoke disinterestedly.
He looked at the second window and finally understood the reason for his earlier calmness.
