Chapter 18 - The writing exam

After a short while, the examiner realized that the two scepters were indeed the legendary ones. Immediately, he awarded us 1100 points. Feeling proud, everyone went home to inform their parents of their success. The next day, I invited my friends over to my place to create identical replicas of the two scepters with the same attributes as the legendary weapons. Thanks to Creation Magic, I managed to build the base of the two replicas. Then, by channeling them, I copied their attributes. When I tested them, to my surprise, the replicas were identical to the originals except for one thing: a small scratch I had made when the two true scepters got too close to each other.

"So basically… there's no difference at all?" asked Aruna.

I replied yes, since thanks to the power of the Scepter of Creation, we could copy anything. Then I repeated the same steps to produce two replicas with the exact attributes of each scepter.

"Speaking of the scepters, how did you make the examiner believe he was holding the real ones? And how did you create replicas in such a short time?" asked Saru.

I explained that I simply copied the shape and aura of the scepters—(aura being the mana flow that leaks from the user's body)—and nothing more.

A few hours later, Saru and Aruna went home after I taught them how to play on the mana-powered console, and we had lots of fun. It was around 5 p.m., the sun was about to set, and I had to go to the academy to explain to the king what I had done. Since I am his forgotten grandson, I was sure he would understand. That's how hypnosis or manipulation works, after all. What's useful is that I could create another replica of the scepters just for him, and I would ask him to test them so he could see for himself that there was no difference—except for that one little scratch.

At the academy, I found the director deeply focused on his work. Not wanting to annoy him, I spoke softly to get his attention. After a while, he finally responded, and we spoke about the scepters. Of course, I didn't mention my memories, but I did show him the replicas. He tested them, was impressed, and asked me to create dozens more—one for decoration and nine for the Celestial Generals (super-powerful knights promoted to the highest rank below baron and king). The only knight who ever became king—not because of the royal family, but due to his loyalty and bravery—was my grandfather himself, the king and also the director of the academy where I studied.

The next day, every student came to take the written exam. This was the hardest test of the year. We had to be at the academy by 8 a.m. to wait for the teacher. Then, Top! We began. But this time, the exam was completely different. Each student received a different paper to prevent cheating.

Yeah, but honestly, who could even cheat? I bet next time it won't be one teacher but thirty-three teachers per student. Anti-cheat, my ass! I don't cheat, but when people are overly suspicious of me, it makes me uncomfortable. Anyway, let's get started:

Question 1: What spell is used for fire magic?Well, "Flame." Easy. But depending on the magic level, "Flame" is for lower and higher tiers, while for divine or demonic magic, it's "Fire Killer" or "Fire Storm."

Question 2: What is the name of Chira's queen?I would answer my mother, but her real name is Chura, the Lost Queen.

Question 3: What are the scepters of the angels? List their numbers and names.Well, there's the Scepter of Destruction, Resurrection, Creation, and Death.

Question 4: What are the names of the five kingdoms of the Human Continent? There's Okto, Midway, Yaro, Mero, and Yiro.

Final Question: Why hasn't the Divine Multidimensional Sword appeared yet?(This is a sword that comes from the four worlds and exists only when the Infinitus awakens. Since the other worlds don't have an Infinitus, they each have different conditions for the sword's appearance.)

The answer: First, because the Infinitus has not awakened yet. Second, because humans and other clans kill every Infinitus to erase all traces of their existence.

Well, this test was easy. Why is everyone else so stressed? Ah, maybe their tests are harder. Wait… at the top of my sheet, it says: "Infinite Knowledge: This test's level is extreme, even a mage cannot fully complete it, and this test is especially for you, little Henray." Ahh, that explains why I got this one even though I sit at the back.

After half an hour, the teacher collected all the papers. When he saw mine, he was shocked. I think I passed. Afterward, I entered the director's office with Aruna and Saru. As soon as we stepped in, both of them bowed, while I simply greeted him with a "hello" and a "thank you."

Annoyed, Saru raised his voice:"How dare you not bow before the king? You're insane! Do you want me to—"

"No, it's fine, Saru. Don't make a fuss," interrupted the king.

"Yes, my king. As you command," Saru answered under pressure.

Smiling, I added: "Serves you right."

"As you noticed, Henray, I left a note on your sheet, and you read it. Since I knew you would succeed, I prepared a special test for you. And of course, you passed—just like Saru and Aruna, though they struggled a bit more. That's why you won't just pass the exam. You will all advance by several school levels. From first year straight to the final one. It will be difficult, but why repeat what you already know? Prepare yourselves. Next year, you'll join the advanced class, so get ready."
