Chapter 2 - 01 A Rebirth

I suddenly woke up panting. I was confused and scared. The last thing I remembered was the little boy with his little cape, calling me a name… I don't remember that, only his cute little name, Oliver.

My head throbbed, now that I thought about it, where am I? I looked around to see where I was but all I saw was miles of forest.

By the looks of it, it was either early morning, or it was almost night, because the sky was painted a deep gold color and as my eyes made their way up the sky, it became a light blue.

I seemed very tiny now that I thought about it, and I looked down. "AAAAHHH" all I saw was a child's body, It seemed as though I turned into a four year olds body again. I stood up to get a better look at myself.

I was wearing the exact same clothes that the little boy was wearing. 'Was this a mistake?' I thought to myself. 'Did god make a mistake?' But no, here I was as this little boy who had just died from poison.

I looked at my hand in disbelief. They were very small and delicate with youth practically spilling out from it.

There was a purple looking sticky substance on them that looked strangely like the poison berry the little boy had ingested before me

Then I looked beside me. There was a bunch of sweet smelling berrys that were black and had star shaped leaves around it.

'Are those what I think it is!?' I quickly scrambled away from it, but before I could run away from the life sucking berrys, I cought sight of a poorly made Tiny little leaf basket that had a piece of grass holding it together, and on it was a pile of the Berrys.

He had done that for either two reasons. 1 was that so he could bring more back to his mom, and 2 2 was for if he got hungry he could eat.

I backed up against a tree trunk and my foot got wet. There was a puddle of water right where I had stepped, so I put it to good use and washed my hands clean.

Then I finally realized. I had pointed out to Oliver the thing behind his cape but he told me he couldn't let me see.

I looked at my back where the long black cape fluttered and I slowly took it off. I gasped, 'What is this!?' I racked my head for any possible solution to what I clearly saw was real.

Right there plastered on my back were two giant(from a four year olds perspective) wings that could easily carry me up in the sky, and a little nub of feathers on my lower back which could only possibly be tail feathers.

I couldn't believe that the little cape could fit it all inside so I took it in my tiny cute little hands to inspect the piece of cloth.

The inside was made of an expensive looking, deep red material, finely stitched onto the plain black fabric.

I looked at the top to see the tag and what I found in neat handwriting was:

To my special little Oliver to whom I made just for you and what you "need."

- from, Mommy

I could only guess one thing. Magic. If wings and tails are possible in this world then magic can be too. I took my hand and traced along the fine cloth and pushed, the cloth gave way and what was inside was a tiny portal, that could have only fit my wings and tail comfortabley and nothing else.

The secret pocket was a surprise as I expected something less cool, but this was INSANE. Actual magic not preformed on stages with rigged equipment was something not real in my past life, and is certainly something that I really want to do.

I looked around, and realized that I was lost and didn't know where I was. I grabbed a sharp looking rock up and scratched a tree for a waypoint so that I don't go in circles, and put my cape back over my back. "If I'm going to have to do it this way then so be it!"

I made my way with passion marking trees here and there so that I know where I'm going, and after a while of walking I see something in the distance.

There was a small little cottage that looked charming against the dense forest. I stopped, 'maybe this is my home. If what The little boy had said was true, then right now my mom is in there bound to her bed with illness.

'I have to go pick some edible berrys,' I thought to myself. I looked around the area. There was a bush right under a tree, 'maybe it's blueberry's!!' I thought.

I ran towards the bush with excitement, as I went up to it I got a good look.'Nothing' I thought. 'Absolutely nothing.' I saw another bush and ran up to it.

Nothing again, after a few more bushes I finally found some red dots on a bush from far away, and as I ran up to it with even more excitement and as I got closer, I saw stawberrys. Tons of it, I thought back on the taste of freshly picked strawberry's and smiled.

I picked a bunch and I ran excitedly to the door and knocked first. I didn't hear an answer , so I let myself in cautiously. The inside was not as cozy looking as the outside, as it had old, broken furniture inside.
