Chapter 212 - Chapter 212 Dawn Breaks 6

The moment the girl fainted.

Jiang Sui's face was filled with anxiety.

"Qing Qing!"

"Auntie, take a look, what's wrong with Qing Qing?"

His emotions were so exposed, so severe, his whole body trembling uncontrollably.

Mei Yeqin was stunned for a moment, but only after checking her did she gradually feel relieved.

"It's okay, nothing serious. she'll just have to recover slowly. She just fainted after the stimulation."

The girl's willpower was clearly incredibly strong; Mei Yeqin hadn't expected her to hold out this long.

The person on the bed had a nearly pale face, and the fingers attached to the IV drip were bulging with veins. She was already very thin, and was losing weight at a noticeable rate.

Jiang Sui sat on a chair, staring at the girl intently, unwilling to look away.

After Mei Yeqin put away the stethoscope, she looked at the dark shadow under the boy's eyelids and the beard on his face.

"Ah Sui, can you go wash up and eat something first?"

Mei Yeqin felt the boy would collapse before Su Qing recovered.

Jiang Sui shook his head, as Mei Yeqin knew.

"Ah Sui, you can't do this. At least change your clothes and eat something, or Su Qing won't recognize you when she wakes up."

Mei Yeqin's words were perhaps due to the mention of the girl's name.

Jiang Sui's distracted expression gradually cleared, becoming more relaxed. He stood up, his eyes filled with something close to despair.

As Mei Yeqin was about to leave, her fingers resting on the doorknob, she heard the boy's voice.

"Is she blaming me?"

Jiang Sui's voice was tinged with deep pain.

The boy's voice was deep and hoarse.

In that instant, Mei Yeqin turned and looked at Jiang Sui's pale face. His complexion was equally as pale, and his lips were devoid of any color.

"Does she blame me?"

He muttered to himself, a voice of self-abandonment.

Mei Yeqin even noticed that the boy was unwilling, or perhaps even afraid, to truly look at the girl on bed again.

"Ah Sui, you said it was about Mother Su? Do you think Qing Qing is blaming you?"

Mei Yeqin spoke slowly, her voice low. She wanted to ensure the boy didn't lose his temper or abandon himself.

Jiang Sui's eyes were glazed over, and he nodded.

"No, Ah Sui, you know Su Qing best, don't you? She won't blame you. She's just tired and needs to rest."

Jiang Sui's fingers clenched at his side, a pained expression crossing his face.

"I really want to help Mother Su..."

"Jiang Sui, there's no need to say such things. Just go wash up. And Su Qing doesn't blame you. Look, she won't let anyone move her wheelchair. Only you can. Have you forgotten? Only if you're well then only you can take good care of her, right?"

Mei Yeqin knew the boy had been suppressing his emotions for too long, all of them trapped in a single nerve, poised to collapse at any moment.

This emotion was so familiar to Mei Yeqin.

As she watched the boy's eyes gradually regain clarity, Mei Yeqin's heart finally settled.

Jiang Sui looked at Su Qing reluctantly, then went to the bathroom to wash up.

A deep bloodstain clung to the floor from the scratch on his palm. The boy's eyes darkened, knowing he had been ill again.

He loathed his body, but he suppressed all his emotions, changed his clothes, and left.

He looked at the food on the table and ate a little, almost mechanically.

And then, he remained by Su Qing's side.

Never left.

Mei Yeqin knew that persuasion wouldn't work against Jiang Sui.

She knew Su Qing was his medicine.

Pei Dai came many times during Su Qing's hospitalization, but Mei Yeqin politely declined each time, citing the girl's physical and emotional state, and she needed to wait until she was stable before being investigated.

The Li family members also came countless times, but were each turned away by Mei Yeqin.

Mei Yeqin had no idea what kind of emotions Jiang Sui would unleash, or what actions he would take, if he met those people.

She could only wait until Su Qing regained consciousness and recovered sufficiently before making a final decision.

It was a week later when Su Qing's condition had almost fully improved.

During that week, the girl remained drowsy but extremely cooperative with her treatment. She seemed oblivious to the pain of medication and injections. She was unbelievably well-behaved, which made people feel very distressed.

No one mentioned Su Rao again.

Aside from the moment the young girl slowly awoke that day and said she didn't want her mother to be on the road for so long, and when she was taken to be cremated and she signed the cremation form, Su Qing's eyes flickered for a moment, then remained emotionless.

She was like a machine, taking medicine, eating, and cooperating with treatment.

Finally, a week later, she was transferred to a regular ward.

With this transfer, so much was about to happen.

Mei Yeqin hadn't expected the Li family's news to arrive so quickly. Su Qing was transferred to a regular ward at noon, and the Li family arrived in the afternoon.

Li Fuguang, standing at the door.

Su Qing saw him; she had seen this man before.

After not seeing him for several years, the man seemed to have aged considerably. She wondered if it was the recent days that had made him look haggard, or if it was something else. None of this was Su Qing's concern.

She leaned against the hospital bed.

When Li Fuguang saw Su Qing, as the perennially superior, he remained condescending. It was only the presence of Jiang Sui beside her that made Li Fuguang frown.

He had always been reluctant to make enemies with the Jiang family.

But he knew that the man his son had provoked was inextricably linked to the young master of the Jiang family.

This was Li Fuguang's biggest headache, because it could have been solved with money, but for Jiang family, who were never short of money.

"Su Qing, I'm Uncle Li."

As Li Fuguang placed the flower basket and fruit on the table...

The young man, who hadn't seen Li Fuguang, paused for a split second while peeling the orange for the girl before dropping Li Fuguang's belongings to the ground.

"Get out."

His voice was low and emotionless, his cold eyes brimming with a storm.

Li Fuguang knew he'd be humiliated, but he didn't expect it to be at the hands of a junior. His expression immediately darkened, especially since he'd thoroughly researched Su Qing's background.

He'd been confident to begin with, but now he felt a touch of irritation.

"Nephew Jiang, I'm talking to Su Qing. What are you doing here?"

He spoke with measured tone, never looking at Jiang Sui but at Su Qing.
