The darkness before dawn was the only hour that belonged to me. In the quiet cradle of Rell's chambers, time slowed to something human. The air was thick with the steady rhythm of breath, the warmth of bodies tangled in sleep, and the grounding scent of two men who had somehow become my entire world. Rell's weight was a mountain at my back still, immovable, his breath steady against my shoulder. Gavriel, all restless Alpha heat and sharp edges, was curled into my chest, his hand draped possessively over my ribs as though even in sleep he refused to let me drift too far. Between them, I could almost believe in safety.
