Chapter 1 - Arrived At Big City

"A job in the city?"

A man looked happy when he found out that there was a good job for him in the city. He had just finished college and was looking for work. But because he lived in a small town, it was very difficult to find a job.

"Yes, the job is definitely right for you. Would you like to come and try it?" asked a man on the other end of the phone, who was none other than the man's cousin.

By coincidence, his cousin, who lived in a big city, said he had a job for him. Of course, the man who received the call could not refuse the offer, and he intended to go to the big city to meet his cousin.

"Sure! But I have to ask my parents' permission first," he said, feeling a little confused.

Would he be allowed to go to the big city, which was a 5 hour drive away?

His parents loved him very much and were very protective of him. Especially since he was the only child in the family. He didn't have any siblings.

However, his cousin assured him that he would discuss this with his parents.

"I'll help convince them that you'll be safe with me in the city. Don't worry, everything will be fine as long as you follow what I say!"

They had known each other since childhood, so he trusted him.

"Alright, I'll start packing. See you later, Marshal!"

"Sure. I'll let you know later, Julian."

Julian hung up the phone, then went to his room to start packing his things to go to the city. He knew it would be very difficult to convince his parents, but they would surely believe Marshal's words.

After all, Marshal was their nephew, the son of Julian's mother's older brother.

And sure enough, Marshal managed to convince his parents to allow Julian to go to the city to live with him. The man would be responsible for whatever Julian did in the city.

Of course, this made him very happy. He never thought he would finally be able to go to the big city because he had always wanted to go there.

When he found out that Marshal was finally going to live in the big city, he felt jealous and wanted Marshal to take him there. However, of course, his parents forbade him from going.

But now he could have his freedom.

Tap... Tap tap...

Julian walked out of the bus stop after traveling for almost 5 hours from where he lived. Because the small town where he lived did not have an airport, they still used buses for long distance travel.

Moreover, plane tickets were expensive. Of course, he would choose to use the cheaper bus.

"Finally, I'm here! The big city is really crowded. I hope I can get a good job with a big salary!" he said enthusiastically.

He walked while playing with his cell phone, intending to call Marshal to pick him up.

However, suddenly, in the crowded situation and with things happening so quickly, someone took the phone from his hand and ran away.

He didn't have time to react, but Julian immediately turned around and intended to chase the thief. He had only been in the big city for a few minutes, and someone had already stolen his phone?

"Hey, stop! Stop right there, you thief! Give me back my phone!!!" He shouted as he ran after the thief, leaving his suitcase behind.

As he was chasing him, a man with red hair immediately stopped the thief with a kick.

THUD!

The thief immediately fell to the floor with a loud noise, causing a commotion and everyone immediately turned to look at them. Julian was finally able to catch up and immediately grabbed the thief's hand.

"How dare you steal my phone! Give it back now!" he said angrily, snatching the phone from him.

Before he could call security, the thief ran away again, but luckily Julian had gotten his phone back. He then turned to the man who had saved him and thanked him.

"Thank you for saving me! You really helped me," he said with a friendly smile.

However, the man looked him up and down with a cynical gaze and then walked away.

"What a pain," said the red haired man before finally getting into his black car and driving away.

Julian furrowed his brow. Why did the man look annoyed even though he had thanked him? He really didn't understand people in big cities.

"He's the weird one!" he muttered irritably, then returned to his suitcase and looked for a taxi to take him to his cousin, Marshal's house.

When he arrived at his cousin's house according to the address he had been given, he saw a black car that looked familiar.

"Isn't that the red haired man's black car? Why is it parked in front of Marshal's house?" he asked in confusion. But he didn't think much of it, because he thought everyone must have cars of the same color.

He then called his cousin to say he was already at the gate.

"Oh, you're already here? I'll open the door for you," Marshal replied over the phone before hanging up.

Not long after, a blond haired man appeared from behind the door and immediately hugged his cousin. Julian felt relieved to finally see Marshal again, especially since he was quite scared to be alone in the big city.

"Don't be afraid, you'll be safe here as long as I'm with you. Come on in, my friends are inside."

"Is it okay that I came while your friends are visiting? I'm afraid I might be interrupting your time together," said Julian, but Marshal said it was fine.

In fact, he wanted Julian to meet his friends because there was something he wanted to discuss with them. At first, Julian didn't understand why his cousin wanted him to meet his friends. Could it be that his friends would give him a job?

Or maybe something that Julian had never imagined he would get after arriving in the big city.

Something that would change his life, perhaps only temporarily or forever.

When they arrived in the living room, they heard the voices of three men chatting. Julian seemed hesitant to join them, but Marshal said they would welcome him, so he joined them.

"Hey, friends, my cousin has arrived from the small town! I hope you don't mind him joining us!"

"Of course not! Come on, join us!" they replied, except for one person who just sat quietly drinking his drink.

As soon as he entered the living room, his gaze immediately fell on a red haired man he had met at the bus stop an hour ago.

"Wait, you are..."
