Chapter 88 - Chapter 88. You’re Going a Bit Too Far. Don’t You Know Manhattan Is My Home?

In northern Manhattan, a huge, grotesque monster with bony protrusions on its back rampaged through the streets, destroying everything in its path.

The entire neighborhood descended into chaos the moment the monster appeared out of nowhere.

People fled in panic, screaming. Some, too slow to escape, ended up buried under the rubble of collapsed buildings, while others lost their lives directly under the fists of the enraged creature.

Fear and panic spread across Manhattan like a tidal wave.

Fortunately, the military responded quickly. Hundreds of soldiers set up barricades, closed off access points, and attempted to stop the monster ravaging the city while evacuating civilians and isolating the entire zone.

Helicopters circled the sky, monitoring the situation, and despite military orders to take shelter, some brave (or insane) journalists began broadcasting live, reporting the entire event to the world.

Ever since Tony Stark publicly admitted he was Iron Man, all of New York and the entire planet had become obsessed with superheroes.

But this time, what people saw weren't superheroes saving the world, but super-monsters destroying it.

"HULK! COME OUT!"

"HULK!!"

Blonsky roared at the sky as he looked up at the helicopters above. His rage knew no bounds, and every so often he grabbed a car beside him and threw it, smashed concrete pillars, and destroyed everything in his path, venting his anger and reveling in the destruction.

In that moment, he had become the embodiment of hatred.

He wanted to challenge anyone who dared oppose him.

But above all, he wanted to kill Hulk with his own hands!

He had never forgotten his first encounter with him. Hulk had thrown a truck directly at his face. And all he could do was helplessly watch as the monster slaughtered his comrades. It was the first time in his life he felt real fear.

That feeling of weakness haunted him.

That's why he accepted General Ross's offer. He voluntarily became a test subject, injected with the first super soldier serum.

That experiment enhanced his strength, endurance, reflexes.

Though he barely survived, he emerged as a superhuman.

So during the second mission to capture Hulk, when he finally faced him, he approached without fear and even laughed in his face.

But Hulk merely looked at him with disgust, raised his leg, and kicked him like he was nothing, a blow that nearly shattered every bone in his body.

Thanks to the serum, he didn't die.

But his body didn't recover naturally. Instead, he was soon injected with another serum.

Because Blonsky didn't want to stop.

He wanted revenge.

He wanted the power that Hulk possessed!

In his eyes, Banner was a coward. To have such power and want to give it up? To want to live as an ordinary man?

To Blonsky, that was nonsense!

But precisely because of Banner's weakness, an opportunity opened up.

Blonsky injected himself with Banner's blood, saturated with gamma radiation.

The combination of super soldier serum and that blood didn't kill him.

On the contrary, it gave birth to a monster.

Abomination.

Bigger than Hulk. More muscular. Even more terrifying and repulsive in appearance. More monstrous in strength.

Blonsky had succeeded.

He broke out of the lab and began rampaging through Manhattan, feeling for the first time what it was like to be a true god among mere mortals.

"Let me drop, only Hulk can stop him!"

Banner stood in the helicopter, watching as Abomination raged, but in the end, he made his decision and stood up.

"No! They injected you with the serum, what if you don't turn into Hulk!?" shouted Betty Ross, grabbing his hand.

General Ross watched the chaos below with a grim expression.

Angry hatred burned in his eyes.

He had never imagined that Blonsky could betray him.

If he could, he would kill him without hesitation.

But he couldn't.

First, because he physically had no way to stop the monster.

Second, because Abomination had become a valuable experimental specimen. If they could capture him, military researchers could try to replicate that power, a power that could turn soldiers into gods.

"It's too late. If this continues, more innocent lives will be lost!" said Banner, tearing himself from Betty's grip, then without hesitation jumped from the helicopter.

The next scene that unfolded was the one Alaric had caught, two monsters, Hulk and Abomination, clashing in the center of the city, brutally tearing through the entire district.

Abomination, due to his larger mass and strength, held the advantage. Hulk, not yet fully in a state of rage, couldn't keep up.

With a single blow, Abomination hurled him across half a street, destroying several buildings.

"Hulk! It's time I returned that kick!"

...

"You're going a bit too far. Don't you know Manhattan is my home?"

Alaric opened his eyes, got up from the sofa, and disappeared from the temple.

As the guardian of Earth, he knew he had to rise and stop this.

...

Luxury villa by the sea.

"Sir, two large targets are fighting in Manhattan. Would you like to intervene?"

Jarvis's voice interrupted Tony, who was working on a new armor design at that moment.

Tony looked up and frowned as the news appeared on the holographic display.

On the screen, Hulk and Abomination were clearly visible in the midst of battle.

"Is the military already there?"

"Yes, sir. They're actively attempting to stop the fight."

"Then let them try to handle it. If they fail, then we'll talk."

Tony didn't have much faith in the military — especially not when it came to General Ross.

He knew this reeked of yet another experiment the military had hidden from the public.

If they made a mess, let them clean it up first.

But if they failed, Tony knew what he had to do.

"Jarvis, accelerate the analysis of new elements. If we don't find a solution in time, this reactor will kill me."

"Understood, sir."

...

London.

University laboratory.

"Jane!"

Darcy burst into the room with a laptop in hand.

"What now?" Jane sighed wearily.

This intern had already become a bit too energetic for her taste.

Was it even possible for someone this hyperactive to survive in a calm academic environment?

"Jane, you have to see this! There's a monster war in New York!!"

"Another movie?"

"It's not a movie! Look, it's live!!"

Darcy shoved the screen in front of her face.

Jane glanced skeptically, but when she saw the footage, her face froze.

"...Is this real?!"

"When have I ever lied to you?"

...

"Hulk!!"

Blonsky charged again, tearing up asphalt, leaving a trail of destruction all around him, crashing down on Hulk like a thunderbolt.

His figure, deformed, massive, mutated, covered half the street.

"General Ross! If we don't stop him, the consequences will be catastrophic!!"

Ross's adjutant was visibly alarmed.

Hulk was being pushed back.

Abomination was rampaging.

The media were broadcasting everything live. The world was watching.

If the truth came to light, that the military itself was responsible for creating this monster, they could all face serious consequences.
