Chapter 68 - Chapter 68: Bully Maguire's Shining Debut

Not far from OsCorp Tower.

Garfield hung up the call.

Beside him, Holland looked grim.

"Well? Is he coming? If not, it's over. Nobody survives tonight anyway."

Garfield shook his head, almost in disbelief.

"He said… how could this be *good news*? What kind of thinking is that? How can this be called good?"

At that moment, the military gave the order.

Soldiers and FBI agents opened fire on the Lizard army.

Norman Osborn sneered.

"Futile resistance."

He withdrew on his glider, commanding the Lizard army to attack.

Gunfire rained down—

but the Lizards healed instantly.

The pain only made them more feral.

They surged forward.

Globs of corrosive acid shot through the air, melting tanks to slag in seconds.

Dozens of soldiers died screaming.

The towering Lizard stayed still.

Iron Man, the Spider-Men, Natasha, and Hawkeye looked at each other with hard resolve.

"Today—it's victory or death."

Iron Man launched first, blasting toward Scorpion.

Garfield and Holland roared and swung into the fray.

Then another figure joined them—

a man in tight black armor.

Daredevil.

He dove straight into the battlefield.

At that same time, the battle broadcast aired on every screen across New York.

"This is it. We are fighting for survival. Our forces at OsCorp are outmatched. If you want to protect this city, your families, your very lives—take up arms. Stand with us."

Shock turned to fear, then despair.

But finally—determination.

From homes across the city, people armed themselves.

Shadows with rifles, pistols, bats, and knives streamed toward OsCorp.

A spark had become a wildfire.

At Maguire's home, Uncle Ben stared at the TV, tears in his eyes.

He looked at Aunt May. Both were trembling, overwhelmed.

Ben slammed a hand on the table, grabbed his hunting rifle, and headed upstairs—

only to find Peter's room empty.

Tears spilled down his face.

"So… Peter's already gone."

May picked up a pistol left behind for her "last resort."

But she decided—it belonged in an enemy's chest, not her own.

She stepped outside, resolute.

Scenes like this unfolded across the city.

Some fled. Many rushed toward the tower.

Back at OsCorp.

Iron Man hammered Scorpion with lasers, but the armor was too strong.

He could only dodge tail strikes with sheer agility.

Garfield and Holland, facing hundreds of Lizards, were forced into hit-and-run tactics, sniping from the air with webs.

Rocket fire from helicopters rained down.

Flames engulfed the battlefield.

For a moment, humanity held the upper hand.

But then—

Connors loomed with Norman, who grinned savagely.

The Goblin fired missiles into the night sky—

helicopters exploded one by one.

The suppression fire vanished.

The Lizards healed and charged again.

Iron Man was slammed into the ground by Scorpion's tail.

On TV screens across the city, the elderly, sick, and children watched in despair.

Against such monsters, what hope remained?

Tony looked around, face twisted with helplessness.

"Is this it? No… I can't accept this!"

Garfield and Holland exchanged a glance.

They both carried the same hopeless determination.

Natasha and Clint nodded heavily.

*The city may fall, bodies may die—but the spirit will never die.*

And then—

a figure dropped from the sky, landing atop OsCorp Tower.

Clad in black.

Everyone froze.

"A… a third Spider-Man?"

It was Bully Maguire.
