Harry walked straight up to Maguire with a smile. "So—how's the Spider Tower? I designed it myself."
Maguire nodded with an easy grin. "Looks great."
Garfield and Holland didn't even try to play it cool. They swarmed Harry. "It's insane—too cool!"
"Come on, let's head in," Harry said. "There are also gifts Maguire arranged for you two."
Garfield and Holland both swung their eyes toward Maguire, thrilled. "You… got gifts for us?"
They entered the Spider Tower. The first area was a parking level—and several supercars sat gleaming under the lights. Garfield and Holland's eyes practically popped out.
"Oh my god, I can't handle this—Maguire, I love you, man!"
"Cut it out," Maguire said, amused. He pointed to a red Ferrari. "Garfield, that one's yours. Keys are in the car—go take it for a feel."
Then he looked at Holland. "And that black Lamborghini Aventador is yours."
Holland whooped and sprinted toward the car.
Harry drifted over to Maguire and reported, "Per your plan, I installed the security system and linked it to all of Oscorp's satellites." He lowered his voice, excited. "Don't tell me Thor's already on Earth? I kinda want to visit Asgard."
"With this setup we should be able to monitor most of the planet."
Leaving the two "kids" to their excitement, Harry led them into a main hall. Walls of displays flickered with feeds. In the middle stood two glass pods—each housing a Spider suit.
They stepped closer. The new suits had a sleek profile, reinforced with additional metal ribbing; defense clearly upgraded, and outfitted with cutting-edge gear. These two sets were Harry's gifts to Garfield and Holland. As for Maguire, he'd already told Harry not to prepare one for him.
Right then the two finally caught up—and froze at the sight of the suits. A beat later, they shrieked in unison.
"For us?!"
"Harry, we love you!"
Harry just stared, speechless, then explained, "These use expandable composites—they compress down to briefcase size, much easier to wear."
But the two weren't listening. They were already pounding on the glass, begging to try them. Harry sighed and popped the cases. Garfield and Holland dashed to their new gear, giddy.
Maguire's gaze snagged on a live feed playing across one of the screens. Night sky. A bolt of lightning ripped the darkness—and something slammed into the ground, throwing up earth.
He frowned and asked Harry, "Where is that?"
Harry checked. "New Mexico. A place called Rosa."
That cinched it—Thor had arrived on Earth. Maguire thought, satisfied, My Bully Points are about to spike again.
Two hours later, at S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ, Hawkeye Barton stepped into Nick Fury's office.
"What's going on?" Fury asked.
"In Rosa, New Mexico, a lightning strike came down out of nowhere," Barton said. "A hammer fell from the sky—left a massive crater."
Fury nodded. "You and General Ross, go take a look."
"Good thing I'm not being sent with Banner," Barton muttered. "I'd die of boredom."
Back in New York, at the Spider Tower, Maguire turned to the others. "We're on break now anyway. How about a trip?"
Garfield and Holland were all in. Harry nodded. "I've got time. Let's get out of the city."
"Even superheroes need vacations," Garfield and Holland said. "On this trip, we're just normal people. No powers unless it's absolutely necessary—deal? Human-only travel."
"Works for me," Maguire said. "But just the few of us would be dull. I'll invite Gwen—call whoever you want."
"This one's on me."
Garfield and Holland whooped. "Let's go!"
Holland yelled, "Yesss!"
Garfield blushed. "There's… someone I want to invite."
Maguire glanced over, thinking, So Garfield's got someone he likes. Who is it?
"Where are we going?" Harry asked.
"Rosa," Maguire said.
"Fine by us," the other two replied. "You're paying."
They set the departure for three days later. Maguire headed home and immediately called Gwen to tell her the plan. Two hours later, Gwen rang back, excited. "My parents agreed—I can go with you!"
