Chapter 12 - Teen Drama

Written by **EYRAM**

When the sun rose, at breakfast, Jack stopped showing up, as he could go for days without food and did not have to keep up pretenses around her anymore.

As a result, it became another opportunity for the twins to bond. Not wanting any drama, she decided to inform Seraphina about her meeting with Lance. Seraphina jolted out of her chair and excitedly asked,

"Can I go in your place? He would not notice the difference, OMG, our first date, should I go with a brand-new red LV match-up or take something from Vogue, I need to buy jewelry…" Serena calmly interrupted

"Relax, one step at a time. If you're going, I have to inform him first." She took out her phone and texted him about the change of events, and he replied.

"I want you there, alone. Think of it like a date, 8:00 at my house, Fifth Street Avenue." In seconds, Serena's face turned beet red, and she was at a loss for words. This was her twin sister's crush; they were talking about how she would break the news to her.

Part of her wanted to be a good sister, say no to him, and say she could not date her sister's crush, but another part of her wanted to say yes and enjoy dating a boy, maybe she might get a first kiss as romantic as those she read in literature. In the end, she texted

"Relax, let's take it slow. How about we just hang out, and by the way, are you not dating someone?"

"Have you seen anything to suggest that?"

"Nothing, just your arms around Sophia's shoulder, how she shyly hides in your shadow and practically has no life without you."

"Are you stalking her?"

"No, my sister and I have some matters, but don't you dare turn this back on me. I asked if you have something going on."

"No, I just saved her from bullies some time ago, and she has clung to me since then. Okay, so I'll get things ready. Would you prefer an indoor party? Or camp night?"

"I'd like to stay indoors; I'm not quite used to the cold weather yet."

"What at all are you even texting, ignored twin sister alert!" Seraphina chimed in.

"Relax, I'm done, we're both going."

"Great, and the Mayor of Ravensville called, saying he is coming over to offer a personal apology

*cough*, *cough*. Serena choked on her food and asked

"Wait, first of all, what did the mayor do to us, and secondly, why is he personally coming? Just how influential are you, I mean we, I guess?"

"Okay, I'll fill you in on everything from a general perspective. Turns out the mayor is a Vampire who escaped the Vampire settlement. He originally came from a small auxiliary castle, but Dad, who is a… what vampires call Punisher. Took him under his wings and managed to get him to evolve to lord rank, and he made this place a haven for vampires who seek greener pastures, literally. Have you seen the settlement? So he was the one responsible for the docile mist, and Dad practically beat him up until he agreed to come here and apologize."

"Well then, how do we receive him?"

"Lunch should be appropriate, and I heard he has a son, who is supes hot, you should totes go for him"

"What you're doing to the English language is just horrible."

"Ah, well that's me"

"I think you should not focus on guys so much, or you might never really achieve anything of your own."

"Ah, I could just stand up one day and dominate the wrestling world."

"I'm being serious."

"Okay, okay, chill."

Later on, by lunch time, the mayor came in, in a posh red Ferrari, while his son a black one, and as he and his son descended their cars, they looked super sleek for the mayor; he looked covered in bruises and was much less intimidating as compared to when she last saw him.

But his son was, as Seraphina described him, Hot."

"He wore an all-black overall, he had gelled back golden blonde locks and sky-blue eyes, his muscles bulged, visible through his overly dressed match up, he was 18 and had already established a business that could single-handedly compete against the entire light corporation.

Today, Seraphina went all-out when it came to dressing, a red backless crop top, and a mini skirt with strapped arms.

But on this day, the true belle of the ball was none other than Serena. She wore a royal blue gown and a sapphire choker; her hair was left loose, unlike usual, and swept to the side; her gown was mermaid style and had a knee-length slit.

She dressed casually but stole a long glance from the mayor's son. They quickly got into the house and sat in the dining hall, Jack sitting at the head and on his right-hand side, the mayor then on the left, and both sisters sat next to each other.

One looked like a wild party girl, fire burning in her eyes, while the other was a more mature beauty, calm and sophisticated, a true lady who looked simply breathtaking, not needing to expose her skin to attract the eyes of a man.

Throughout the talk Seraphina smiled, laughed, and flirted like any other girl, laughing at not so funny jokes the men said while Serena and the mayor's son just exchanged glances from time to time remaining quiet, then when the music turned on and Jack and Seraphina began to have this father daughter dance to her shock, he made a move initiating a conversation saying.

"Hi, fair lady, you look more breathtaking than the prettiest flower, from dawn to the last hour, may I have this dance?" His cheesy words garner stares from everyone in the hall.

Serena, the object of attention, shocked, said

"Yes," and Seraphina erupted in cheers and said,

"That's a girl," making her blush.
