Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

|NYLA|

I sat up on the bed, strength I didn't know I had was pulsing in my veins, eager to explode.

The moon goddess truly worked in mysterious ways. But why didn't she just fix my own body? Why'd I have to wake up in some other girl's body?

A weak one at that. If I could remember properly, Nyla Florentine was an omega. Gosh, this was terrible.

From once having a superior undefeated alpha wolf, I now had one of the most inferior omega wolves.

Where should I begin in making this body work for me? How could I even stand against Klaus now? The Florentine family wasn't anything. So I couldn't use their backing.

I had no power, how was I supposed to take my revenge against Klaus or continue to investigate that strange lab and its cause?

"Argh… so much to do…"

But it was fine. I had time, didn't I? In fact, time was all I had now.

"Where is she?" I heard a deep feminine voice question with heavy footsteps approaching.

"Just inside the room." It was the voice of that doctor again.

The door opened and I caught sight of a tall, broad woman dressed in a maid's uniform. And was that beard hair underneath her chubby chin?

"Nyla, you're alive."

There was no hint of happiness in the woman's voice as she said those words.

"Yup. Glad to be back." I winked at her.

She veered back in horror, as though winking was akin to pulling out a gun and pointing it to her head.

The doctor rushed towards me and began to lift my limbs, showcasing to the maid that I was truly alive.

"Look at her, she's back to normal. Healthy, again!" he exclaimed.

The maid hummed with disinterest.

"Um… I'm not totally healthy." I spoke up.

The maid raised a curious brow.

"Actually, my brain is blank. I can't remember anything."

This was my ultimate plan: AMNESIA.

Not only would it give me an advantage of understanding this new body and situation with ample time, it would also explain the reason why my character wouldn't be the same as the other Nyla.

I had a loud mouth and an unapologetic way of living. I doubted the other Nyla was like me. I wasn't going to start pretending I was her to avoid suspicion.

I wouldn't be able to. I grew up as a spoiled princess. Getting me to act civilized was even a stretch.

"What do you mean your brain is blank?" The tall maid approached me with a frown on her face.

"After causing such a stupid ruckus during the party by falling from the balcony, you now want to use the excuse that you don't remember anything? Tch, not a chance." The maid continued, her expression painted with disgust.

When did falling to one's death become a stupid ruckus? And surely, this maid wasn't looking down on me, right? A maid…

I never thought I would see the day.

"Miss Florentine, are you serious?" The doctor asked, his manner of speaking completely different from the maid's.

I nodded my head without a thought. "I can't even remember both of your names. The only reason why I even know my own name was because you mentioned it to me earlier."

There was not a break in my confused and innocent expression as I spoke.

"Hm, I see…" The man didn't sound like he completely believed me. But he behaved like he didn't not believe me either.

He turned to the maid and explained. "It's plausible that landing on her head must have affected her brain in some way and tampered with her memories. But don't worry, they'll eventually return as she seems to be healing up just fine."

The maid hummed.

"I'll prescribe some vitamins to help strengthen her body. Her diet should consist of fruits and protein for the meantime. I hope you can relay my words to the Supreme General." The doctor said.

I frowned. "What does the Supreme General have to do with me?"

The other two people stared at me like I was a fool.

"She really does have amnesia…" The doctor muttered.

"He is your mate and husband." The maid was straightforward.

"WHAT?!?!"

No way. There was absolutely no way that I was in the body of that scumbag's mate.

That man, the 'Supreme General' was the most despicable person on Earth. All my life, I had always been compared to him.

The man could simply breathe and he would have people kissing his feet and telling him that he was the best breather in the world.

He was a huge jerk.

And now, somehow, I was mated to him. This was the worst case scenario.

But hold on, I've never heard of him getting married or having a mate. It didn't even reach my ears that Nyla Florentine was the mate of the Supreme General.

With my memory serving me right, she should be twenty years old. Still in school. While that scum of a general should be twenty-eight years. He was three years older than me.

Something was not quite right here.

"What year is this?" I asked slowly, preparing myself for the worst.

"20XX." The doctor replied.

My jaw dropped.

5 years. I woke up five years into the future. Meaning that I had been dead for five years!! Everything must have changed.

What was the point of coming back to life after five years had passed? What was there for me to achieve now? How could this be possible?

I covered my face with my hands, dread filling up every inch of my body.

I felt a hand creeping up to my shoulder and I slapped it away without thinking. "Don't touch me!"

I lifted my head to see the maid staring at me strangely after I slapped the doctor's hand.

She narrowed her eyes at me and said, "I don't care if you have amnesia and can't even remember your name. All I know is that you will go back to fulfilling your duty of not existing and tarnishing the Supreme General's name."

The maid turned around and marched out of the room. There was nothing left for the doctor to tell me so he followed behind her, leaving me to my thoughts once again.

"Goddess, where do I start from now?"
