Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

|NYLA|

It has been almost five hours since I came back to life. I got this from the annoying clock hanging on the wall in this dirty room.

I've also gotten to know that the other Nyla was living in bondage. The room which I had woken up to, small and dirty, was actually the space she'd been living in for two years since she got married to the Supreme General.

I found her diary and updated myself about her life.

Apparently, she suffered abuse from her own family and thought that getting mated to the Supreme General would turn things around.

That was not the case, unfortunately. She got treated like trash here. She was always mistreated, even by the servants. And since she married the Supreme General, she'd only seen him a handful of times.

There was nothing good about her life from the sorrowful words written in her diary.

I could bet that she didn't 'mistakenly' fall from the balcony at a party and instead committed s*icide.

What a miserable life.

"But no worries, Nyla," I patted my own back, "I won't forget to include you in my revenge plan."

Since I was in her body, I needed to pay tribute to her somehow. I guess I'd just have to make that scum man regret ignoring his mate and teach the servants of this house a lesson.

Speaking of servants, why have none of them come to serve me food?

Did they forget about me??

Those assholes, they must have!

They used to serve the other Nyla leftover rotten food and never cleaned up her room. The servants of this house were really as scummy as their master!

It seemed like I'd have to shake things up a little in this place.

I was still dressed in the gown that the other Nyla wore to the party which was beyond dirty at this point. But if I gave myself time to change and look presentable, I'd probably die of hunger midway.

I had enough strength to walk around now, so nothing stopped me from leaving the room and navigating my way to the kitchen.

I was only able to do this because of the aroma of food that became my guide.

When I reached the kitchen, I saw two young cooks inside, looking like they had just finished preparing lunch and were about to get to serving. Perfect.

"Hey, can I get some fruit with that? I'd like an apple or two." I waltzed into the kitchen like I owned it.

The young girls looked at me like I was insane at first. Then one of them walked towards me and smirked.

"You're really back from the dead, Nyla Florentine. What a shame. I thought we finally got rid of the smelliest trash in this house."

My jaw touched the floor.

She did not just say that to me. Trash? I was trash??

"I think I heard wrong. What did you just say?" I placed a finger behind my ear, eager to believe that I actually had hearing impairment.

"Let her be, Mira. I heard she hit her brain and is now stupid."

Oh wow, I didn't have hearing impairment. They were simply rude.

It was so funny. These girls who would have never dared to look into my eyes as Nyla Lombardi were now insulting me.

Laughter bubbled slowly from my throat till it surfaced and grew wild. Now they stared at me like I was really a lunatic.

"Actually, I have amnesia. Not stupidity." I corrected with a gentle tone as an eye-catching object came to my view. "And I'm not really strong. The doctor was here hours ago and recommended I eat fruits with lots of protein to regain my strength."

I began walking towards the object.

"Oh yeah, I heard of that." One of the girls said.

I looked at her with a smile. "Then why didn't you bring me food?"

I reached the object and wrapped my palm around the body.

"You expect us to serve you food in that stinky room of yours? You must really have amnesia. You have no place here. You don't deserve food, much less the life that you seem to have aga—ahhhhh!"

I swept the girl's mouth with the brush part of the broom I held, unbothered about the rest of her sentence.

She began to splutter, rubbing her tongue with the back of her hand, trying to get the dirt particles out of her mouth.

Seemed like someone had swept earlier and forgot to tidy the brush. Oh, well. Not my problem.

"You psycho! What did you just—oww!" I hit the other one across the head as she came forward to scold me, and she collapsed on the floor.

The first girl had just regained herself and revealed her swollen mouth. She pointed at me in anger and yelled, "How dare you? Who do you think you are!?"

"You're so noisy. Don't you know you're dealing with a recovering person?" I aimed for the side of her stomach this time.

"Fuck, you bitch!" The girl dared to cuss at me as she pressed her hand against her side.

"Did you just call me a bitch? Amazing!" I hit her one more time, evoking a string of unintelligible words from her mouth.

"Ow! You- how could you- argh! Head maid! Head maid! Head maid!" She began to call out for help.

I scoffed. "Do you think I'm scared of some maid?"

She didn't stop calling for help. Her yelling woke the other girl who had just fainted.

As they were both awake and still looked presentable, I continued to beat them with the broom, relishing in the sounds of their screams.

I imagined how many times the other Nyla must have been left to starve or eat rotten food because of these stupid girls. I was going to pay them back every penny of their actions.

At least that was what I thought until my broom stopped moving and was yanked out of my hand.

"You stupid little girl. What did I tell you earlier?"

BAM!

A heavy slap landed on my face and threw me to the floor. My skin pulsed as I felt a ringing in my ear.

I placed one hand on my cheek, trying to soothe the stinging pain before I looked up to see that tall maid from earlier gazing down at me with hatred in her eyes.

"Didn't I tell you to go back to not existing?"
