Chapter 232 - Chapter 232: Reboot the Universe?

"Superhuman strength?"

Jingliu repeated the words superhuman, assessing the upper limit of this Curio's power.

Taken literally, it meant surpassing ordinary humans… or perhaps a kind of superior human?

But the meaning was far too broad—difficult to quantify.

Everyone else felt the same. They looked at Sylvester, waiting for him to give concrete specifications.

"Correct—superhuman strength." Sylvester repeated, "Superhumans come from a powerful humanoid race called Kryptonians. It's said that the strongest among them can cultivate to the point of annihilating the entirety of a multiverse—time, space, everything."

"Oh." Feixiao nodded out of habit, paused a second, then quickly interrupted, "Wait—what did you just say? Annihilate a multiverse? That's something a person can reach through cultivation?"

That might even surpass an Aeon!

"..." Jingliu didn't speak, but her tightly knitted brows and widened eyes revealed everything she felt.

The three from the IPC, who had just barely found time to sip their tea, were jolted once again by this horrifying revelation.

Jade placed her porcelain cup back onto the table, afraid she might miss crucial information.

"Cough—! Cough cough!" Topaz burned herself with a sip of hot tea and failed to keep her cup steady, spilling half of it onto her clothes.

"Cheep cheep cheep cheep!" Numby hopped onto her lap, offering tissues to wipe the spill.

"Multiverse… so that's something that truly exists? And—and someone has already reached the level of being able to destroy… a universe?"

For everyone present, this was far too shocking.

They certainly understood the concept of a multiverse, but because of that familiarity, they also knew such ideas were still the realm of scientists' imagination.

Even the Genius Society had made no progress in that domain.

For the first time, they suspected Sylvester might just be making things up.

This matter touched on concepts far too vast—and far too terrifying.

If what he said were real, then everything the Xianzhou Alliance and the Corporation had accomplished in their exploration of the cosmos… would be no different from grains of sand on any random planet.

"What's so surprising about that?"

Sylvester said casually, "Krypton isn't even close to the strongest civilization. There are cultivation-based civilizations out there whose peak experts don't just annihilate multiverses—they can reset entire megaverses at will. Resetting one is about as troublesome as rebooting a computer."

"…Huh?!"

Sylvester's light, airy explanation struck them like thunder. Their scalps tingled, and their eyes lost focus.

Even Jingliu, normally concise and composed, could only let out a stunned "Ah."

There was no helping it—these words were too far beyond the boundaries of their understanding.

"Resetting a universe like rebooting a computer… handled so casually…"

Feixiao shut her eyes tight, murmuring softly as if trying to accept a new reality.

In Jingliu's crimson gaze, red light flickered faintly. "And there's more than just one civilization capable of that."

Compared to them, the difference between the Xianzhou and those beings might be greater than the difference between primitive tribes and the Xianzhou.

Beside such comparisons, even Aeons might not be worthy of being called great.

At this thought, a notion sprouted in Jingliu's mind.

If so… did that mean mortals also had the chance to touch the rank of an Aeon?

Just as the Reignbow Arbiter had once been an ordinary person of the Xianzhou.

Once this thought appeared, it began to take root and spread. Jingliu now found herself delving deeply into the idea.

"Ai, no need to be too frightened. The universe itself is quite sturdy. Those beings capable of toying with it don't always exist."

Seeing their deflated expressions, Sylvester offered comfort. "Those mighty figures also began as mortals. The cosmos simply hasn't found stronger cultivation methods yet. In essence, you aren't so different from them."

Of course!

Everyone else assumed Sylvester was just trying to ease their anxiety.

Only Jingliu, her face cold as frost, felt her heart burning intensely.

Her old resolve—sacrificing everything, even her life, to kill that pestilent progenitor—slowly faded.

Replacing it was a new desire: to lift her three-foot blade and—and just as she tamed the [Cursed Blade - Thousand Demon Daggers]—reap a soul bearing the name of "god."

She looked toward the remaining trash cans on the shelf.

If knowledge of Krypton existed, then surely the civilizations capable of resetting universes must also have produced curios that had found their way into Sylvester's hands.

She didn't know which day, year, or century she might obtain them—but no one could deny the possibility.

And one day, she would seize it.

"Then… this outfit—just how strong is it?" Jade asked.

Those civilizations were terrifying, true—but after countless eons in this universe, none had appeared. Who could say if they ever would?

To live in fear because of distant hypotheticals was hardly rational.

Compared to those unreachable heights, this outfit in front of them was far more practical.

"About city-level combat strength. In that world, not particularly strong. But…"

Sylvester shifted tone, continuing, "It's ready-to-use. Even a frail college student—one who can't even pass a 1000-meter run—would gain the full strength upon wearing it."

"That is nice."

Feixiao nodded, looking at Jingliu. "Mind if I open it?"

Jingliu nodded coolly, as if none of this concerned her. Feixiao could do as she pleased.

Feixiao tore open the packaging and held the neatly folded outfit at eye level. The clothing unfolded under its own weight.

"Heh, let me see what makes this outfit special."

She was unbelievably curious about anything from such overwhelmingly powerful civilizations.

The blue bodysuit had a red cape at the collar, and below that, a bright red emblem on the chest.

"Hmm."

Feixiao nodded. The outfit had no unnecessary decorations—simple and clear.

Hmm, it seemed that civilization had decent aesthetic sense.

"This outfit is really… huh?"

When she looked lower, Feixiao froze at the bright red shorts worn over the blue one-piece suit.

The vivid color was so eye-catching there was simply no ignoring it.

"Tss~" She lightly bit her lip, her earlier approval quickly turning into confusion.

"Tsk… their fashion sense still has room for improvement."
