Chapter 233 - Chapter 233: Bizarre Design

Feixiao stared at this pure-blue set of thermal shirt and pants, along with the red… speedos?

She blinked blankly for quite a while; her ears twitched again and again, yet she still couldn't understand why the outfit had this kind of design.

Normally, well, under ordinary circumstances, speedos were meant for hygiene purposes, right?

So, wearing them on the outside… what was it supposed to protect against?

Was it that bright red could ward off ghosts?

Then why not just wear a full set of red thermal clothes?

Feixiao brainstormed for a long time and could only categorize it as some type of accessory.

Hmm… perhaps it was like how some people had perfectly fine legs yet still walked around with a civility stick—maybe this style of dress was a cultural custom where they came from.

She couldn't help recalling an ancient Xianzhou saying: "When the Reignbow Arbiter opens a window for someone, THEY also close a door for them. Looks like even those major powers cannot escape this pattern."

Feixiao sighed sincerely. "Maybe this is the price of becoming strong."

Then she shot a mischievous smile at Jingliu and asked, "Are you going to wear this?"

"..."

Jingliu pressed her lips together, saying nothing. But her cherry-red eyes were filled with an emotion that could only be called concern, staring unblinking at Feixiao's face.

Feixiao pretended not to understand, keeping her stiff smile as she looked right back.

"Ah."

Jingliu let out a light sigh and conceded the stare down, her expression turning into one of helpless resignation.

She motioned outward with her hand. "Handle it however you like. Just don't let that thing appear in my wardrobe."

After all, the combat boost this outfit provided was already meaningless to her.

City-level combat power was something she had reached centuries ago.

Better to give it away and keep her eyes clean.

"Heh, then I won't hold back."

Feixiao smiled and tucked away the battle suit whose design had been so thoroughly disliked.

"Hey, Sylvester." She called out casually. "This outfit doesn't have some weird restriction like needing to be seen by others for it to work, right?"

Sylvester immediately understood her meaning and chuckled. "Of course not. Even if you were wrapped in a quilt, it would still work."

Besides, the outfit was a tight suit; wearing it under clothes wouldn't make one look bulky.

For such a suit, he truly didn't understand why Superman insisted on wearing it outside.

Was it purely to show off muscles? That would be edging toward an exhibitionist streak.

"Oh, then that makes things easier." With the answer she wanted, Feixiao nodded in satisfaction.

With that, the number of people who might actually be willing to use the outfit increased significantly.

Take Jiaoqiu for example—forget wearing something over it, even if he wore the red-blue combo openly, he wouldn't care. That guy understood flexibility better than anyone.

And Moze—he always lurked in the shadows anyway; no one would notice.

As for the other lower-ranked soldiers, they naturally had no right to be picky. They'd be scrambling to take one.

She turned around and bent down, smoothly patting Little Jingliu on the head.

Feixiao flashed a bright smile, her white teeth radiating health. "Thank you, my good niece. Next time, Auntie will buy you sweets."

At those words, Jingliu's brow twitched.

That form of address was something she had barely ever heard in her entire life.

Feeling the hand ruffling her hair, her gaze grew fierce, and she puffed out breaths from her small mouth—though perhaps because her mouth was too small, the excess air pushed her chubby cheeks out into little puffs.

Staring up at Feixiao in anger, she looked like a tiny, furious white tiger cub.

The hand rubbing her hair grew even more unrestrained, and Jingliu's patience finally snapped.

With two fingers aligned, she raised her right hand and slashed—sending out a blade of sword energy.

Feixiao reacted instantly, stepping hard onto the ground and flipping through the air. Her flexible waist bent her into a graceful crescent.

After completing a full rotation, she landed perfectly on the seat in the rest area. She crossed one leg over the other and lifted her teacup.

The sword energy dissipated right before her nose, its residual force ruffling a few strands of her hair while the water in her cup rippled gently.

"Hey, hey, fighting is forbidden in my shop. Damage a single piece of furniture and that's ten billion Credits." Sylvester called from behind the counter with a joking tone.

Feixiao, amused, played along. "Wow, is your cup made of gold, or are the tea leaves steeped in gold?"

Then she said to Jingliu, "Alright, I'll drink my tea. I won't disturb your bucket-opening."

"Mm…" Jingliu slowly adjusted her breathing.

Even though her mood was no longer as cold and desolate as when she once wandered the universe alone, she still found it hard to cope with Feixiao's lively personality.

But fortunately, Feixiao had a sense of boundaries—she always stopped right when Jingliu was about to truly get angry, just like now.

"Phew~" Taking a deep breath, Jingliu calmed herself.

Though the [Superman Suit] was of little use to her, it had revealed the veil over powerful factions in universes she had never even heard of.

She wasn't naïve enough to think she could obtain strength equal to top-tier powerhouses from another world in one go. But claiming she didn't wish to get more powerful Curios from those worlds would be a lie.

A stone from another mountain could polish jade. Exposure to higher-level things—regardless of strength—would undoubtedly be beneficial to her cultivation!

Without further words, she selected four trash cans at once.

She placed them before the counter and opened them one by one.

Feixiao sipped her tea, watching with utter relaxation.

Meanwhile, the three from the Interastral Peace Company—led by Jade—sat upright, watching intently.

In their hearts, drums pounded: would another purple glow appear? Maybe even gold?!

The lids rattled, and four beams of light rose unevenly.

Before everyone's eyes—there actually was another purple glow!

Jingliu's expression remained calm as still water, as if it was no different from the green or blue Curios.

"Oh-ho?" Feixiao paused with her porcelain cup held near her mouth, not drinking. She looked on with interest. "Not bad luck at all."

While one side rejoiced, the atmosphere on the other grew chaotic.

"Ah!"

Aventurine smacked his left fist into his right palm.

He considered himself lucky, but he wasn't someone who completely disregarded probability—especially after following Professor Ratio for so long. How could he not be influenced?

Two purple Curios had already been taken. So, by the time it was his turn, what would even be left?

Most likely he'd just be paving the way for others!

The four Curios, large and small, landed on the counter. Sylvester swept his gaze across them one by one, committing their information to memory.

When he saw the final purple Curio, his eyes paused.

Looking at the tiny tank-like object that resembled a model, Sylvester's brows curved into an interesting arc.
