Chapter 19 - Reporting and outing

After getting to my room, I jumped straight onto my bed. Today was a tiring day. But I met Ryuu; she was just as cool and as beautiful as I imagined her to be as a real person, even though she was younger than when I first saw her in anime, which is obvious since there is at least half a decade remaining before the canon time.

But why did our first meeting have to happen when I was in that pathetic state!

sigh…

Oh well, I can't do anything about it, but in the future, I will show her my cool side. This also taught me a lesson, so I won't mess up the first meeting with Asfi tomorrow.

But still, why did that crystal exist right now? Does that mean the Rudra family might behave differently? Did he lie to me? I find that hard to believe. Despite us meeting for a brief time, he did not strike me as someone who would waste his time like that. If so, then why? Or did he just make a mistake when sending me here…?

No wait! He said that most of the events will happen the same way, not at the same time they happen in canon.

I gulped at the realization, F*ck! Does that mean any of those big events can happen anytime?

Ugh… just thinking about it is giving me a headache.

Sigh…. Whatever the case may be, I need to be prepared. Fortunately, Ais and the others will level up faster because of my mysterious skill.

Though I wish the effects were not one-sided, so I can also level up faster too. But it's still a load off my shoulders.

And my fight today with that damn lizard gave me some insights as to how strong I am. Now I just need to learn some magic to increase my strength.

Ah… now that I think about it, the sword I had already gotten broken. So I need to get another weapon as well.

Haah… I will just leave the problem of tomorrow to tomorrow me.

After I get some rest, I will go and get a decent weapon. I also need to exchange the magic stones in the guild.

So much to do…

I was walking through the hallway when I ran into Ais, Tione, and Tiona. Looks like they were also heading out.

"Hm? Ya ho! Arin-kun!" Tiona shouted as she noticed me. Ais and Tione turned to look as well.

"Hey," I waved towards them. "Are you girls going out?"

"Yup, we were thinking of making a round around the city, because you know, the Evilius members. If they try to stir up trouble, we will take care of them." Tiona answered.

"Yeah, do you want to join us as well, Arin?" Tione asked.

"Yeah, I would like that. I have not gone around the city yet, but can we stop by the Hephaestus familia shop? My sword broke today, you see. So I was thinking of getting a decent weapon."

"The sword broke? But it was a good one..." Ais asked, since she already saw my weapons and knew they would not break so easily.

"Yeah. It broke when I encountered an infant dragon today." I explained.

"What!!" "What!!"

Tione and Tiona both shouted, even Ais widened her pretty golden eyes slightly, her gaze falling towards her sword.

"Are you already going lower than the 10th floor?" Tione asked me.

Ais also leaned forward a little to hear the answer.

"No, it was an irregularity I encountered on the 7th floor."

"An Infant dragon appeared on the 7th floor and on your 2nd dive, no less. Your luck is awful. Arin." Tione added sympathetically.

"So you are here means you defeated that infant dragon?" Tiona leaned closer to my face. Did this girl not know about personal space? I gently placed a hand on Tiona's shoulder, hoping it would ground her bubbling energy.

"There is no way I can do that, you know." Or maybe I can, but I would have to put my life on the line. "Ryuu, Alise, and her friends came to my help. Ryuu was the one who defeated it. All I was able to do was injure it a little."

"Alise and Ryuu? So the Astraea familia was there, huh?" Tiona still seems to have questions for me.

"So, what happened was…" I continued as we started walking.

"Sounds like you had a long day." Tione, who was walking beside Tiona, who was on my left, said. Ais, for the most part, was quietly walking on my right.

"Yup." Though I was at least expecting my magic to trigger when facing it.

"Oh crap!" Tiona's sudden shout surprised all of us.

"What happened?" I asked, thinking she might have noticed anything suspicious in our surroundings.

"Sorry, Arin, Ais, can you guys go on without us? Actually, I forgot to double-check our supplies, which we have to bring to the expenditure." Tiona said with a downhearted look.

"That's completely fine with me. You should go." I agreed easily, as it was far important work than strolling around town.

"I will also accompany her, Arin, Ais," Tione said and ran after Tiona, who already sprinted toward the manor.

Now, only Ais and I remain. "Ais, do you mind if we get my weapon first, before we go to the guild?"

"No, I don't mind. Weapon is important, we should get a better one for you." Ais said, "Do you want to go to Goibniu Familia? Or the Hephaestus familia?"

"Um? So we don't have a single familia from which our familia buys weapons?"

"No, each member can get their weapon made by whoever they are comfortable with. Though a lot of our member go to Goibniu Familia to get their weapons made or repaired,"

"I see, then let's go to Hephaestus familia. If I don't find something worthwhile, then we can go to Goibniu Familia or any other place."

"Okay." After making the decision, Ais and I start making our way to our destination.
