I went to Axel for a quick visit, I needed to question the whole Dustiness family about what's going on.
What exactly could be happening..
I rode infront of the gates, the butler that greeted me before came out and let me in. "Good evening sir."
I nodded. "Good evening." And with that I went inside. "Where's Darkness, or Ignis for that matter, I have something to discuss."
"Master Ignis is resting in the lounge room." The butler answered calmly.
With that said I made my way to the room in question. There he sat on the armchair, looking out of the window. "
"Ah, my boy." Ignis looked over his shoulder and smiled as he saw me. "How have you been?"
"Very well, but I came to talk about something. Why is Darkness getting married? Didn't we pay off the debt to Alderp?"
Ignis sighed and shook his head. "Sadly no... There more that needs to be paid off."
"How much?"
"Another three billion."
I just looked at him, my brows furrowing as I processed. "Where the fuck did that number spawn from?! When's the marriage?"
"Tomorrow."
"Oh great, and I can't do anything now." I raised my voice. I then sighed forcefully. "There's nothing I can do."
I turned away and walked to the butler. "Could you lead me to Darkness?"
"Of course sir."
Once there, I knocked and opened the room, Darkness was sitting on the side of her bed.
"Good evening." I said, a bit cold, but not towards her. "I heard the news. Why didn't you tell me there is more?"
Darkness looked at me. "I couldn't have known. My father told me that two days ago."
"Huh?" I raised a brow, confused.
She nodded. "I don't know," she admitted, "he suddenly said it out of nowhere after we let Aqua leave."
"..."
...
"There's nothing I can do, unless the guild has another three billion to give me right now... I will go check, if I get the money I will come back, but if not, I'm going home." I announced before leaving, I teleported the drone to me and used it to fly to Axel.
The view from up here was quite lovely, the setting sun painting the sky in beautiful hues of purple and orange. Man, I wish to go back home.
I landed in front of the guild and with a swing of the doors made my presence known.
People greeted me, I greeted them back, but I wasn't here for this.
"Good evening, Luna. Let's skip the small talk, does the guild have three billion on hand right now."
"Oh, Svetislav; sadly no. Why?"
I sighed. "Doesn't matter, can't do much when you don't have available funds... Oh well, I will get going now."
"Alright then. Have a great night."
"You too."
And so I teleported back home, with a few seconds to spare, the sun fell over the horizon.
I took in the refreshing air of the garden of the Oasis Fortress, it was grounding in this hopeless situation... Though if I may be honest... This wasn't even my problem to solve. Perhaps I should look back into my personal life, for I have all that I need, though She doesn't have all that She deserves.
I walked back and into our humble castle home, from which came the gentle scent of cooking; seems like my dear has started without me.
So I walked in, then to the kitchen and there she was, oh what a relief to see her after such a productive day... Makes life worth it.
I went and hugged her from behind, kissing her cheek. "Good evening, my dear."
"Good evening, my love. How was your day?" She said back, gently.
"Pretty good, except that I can't help the Dustiness, Darkness is getting married tomorrow... For some reason..." I sighed and sat back in my chair, rubbing the bridge of my nose. "I need some rest."
She stayed silent, she didn't know what to say.
"Do you know anything about this whole situation?" I asked her.
"No."
I shrug. "Then there's not even a reason for me to understand why it's happening." With that I stood up and helped her with preparing the dinner. This way it was faster, and also a good bonding experience.
