As the new sun came, so did my desire to not do nothing. I truly have everything, food, clean water and lovely company, but boredom is boredom - something has to change this mundane life.
So I stood up, tearing myself from the embraces of my beloved(that was the hardest part) and made us some breakfast.
Though thinking back to this failure that came of yesterday, it soured my day. I care for my friends, I do... And I'd rather not think for letting them down... But what can I do, that came out of nowhere, I didn't have time... I did all that I could. But not enough.
Suddenly, the answer came to me - why not just make money out of energy, just summon them out of thin air, like I always do. Man, too late...
Forget it, just forget it...
I am not the saviour to everyone's freedom, It's not expected of me to free everyone. Only to those I had promised - only to one I have promised.
Freedom is essential for us to be human, for us to be able to choose. Free will, I choose, they choose, everyone chooses. But this arranged marriage... Why do some stuff happen outside of our control and it directly contradicts our free will?
Back in my world I wasn't as fortunate as I am now, I didn't have the luxury of being off the grid and self-sufficient, it was the opposite, having to buy stuff, the loans of my parents, I did what I can. There was always the option to just cut life short... No.
I chopped the vegetables with precision, avoiding cutting near my fingers. Honestly with all this thoughts I might cut myself - being unfocused and all...
Then I felt it, the gentle embrace of my beloved, who had taken the blanket with her and used it to hug me.
"Good morning." She said, her tone serene, so much so all my worried went away for the time being.
I stopped what I was doing and moved my attention to her. "Good morning."
"Whatcha doing?" She asked curiously, leaning to the side and looking.
"Some greens with eggs. I am making a lot, so we can share." I suggested.
She smiled. "With pleasure."
This gave me the motivation to continue on without causing myself any harm. And in the end, it was perfect, sour, salty and with the lovely aroma of olive oil - peak of flavour.
Me and my beloved enjoyed the meal as the morning went on, I didn't drink anything to wake up today, nor any candy with coffee.
"I will never get sick of mornings like this." I shared, before piecing and eating some more of the salad.
"The same goes for me... I'd rather have this than what I would if you weren't here for me."
I simply smiled. "I take it you are enjoying your life."
"A lot more." She said gently, looking at me lovingly.
From there, it was a staring contest, but something enjoyable, something worth getting lost in.
But enough of that, both of us had jobs to do. Her with her duties, me with my hobbies.
So I calmly drove over to the snowfield forest, which was now mine to govern. By the day I'm becoming more of a lord than I already am. Quite nice.
Acat drove smoothly through it all, though it was too quiet, and even though I can listen to music in my brain, I think it would be more pleasant to just play it with a disk maybe.
I wonder if I can make a tape... Though I'm not sure how it works, I will figure it out when time comes - till then I will be using disks.
Besides, this way I can share it with people...
Soon enough I were at the location, I looked at the landscape, the cold mist rolling down the mountain, revealing just the tip. The expanse of coniferous trees; what a joy to see such beauty.
I opened the door and set foot on the snow, and with the weather being constant this meant that the resort would always have visitors.
Walking around I began setting the outlines of where the resort would be. The walls mainly, after this I will figure out what to put inside and where. Pretty much my idea formed as a middle area, which is at the entance, yeah, not so middle, more like the core, in it - there would be restraurants and hotel buildings, also an underground spa, because why not. There would also be lots of tracks to choose from - from green to red, and for the most adventurous, black(good luck).
Suddenly I felt a gust of wind blowing against me, cold and with a dangerous aura. From the mist came the winter shogun, pretty logical, given it was... a spirit - yeah, that's what Aqua said. And if it's a spirit. Honestly, I'm not sure why I didn't expect this.
So I look up at the shogun as he stops infront of me, katana in hand.
"I believe there's no need for that." I said, my tone getting serious. "I have a proposition for you." The shogun tilted its head, as if it understood me, willing to listen to what I had to say.
So I begun. "You care for these little creatures, right?" I pointed at the snow sprites. "Now I govern this land, I have the power to put a ban on killing snow sprites. If you would allow me to build here and run my business, I will make sure people know to not kill snowsprites, and from there, whoever doesn't listen... Well - we know what happens."
"What do you say? If you agree, just nod, if not - shake your head." I finished, not sure if he is capable of speaking.
It/he, whatever it classified as, stood in a fighting position. "So I take it you are resisting? You got a big bounty, you know? But I'm not here for that prize, I don't have any interest in that."
I dashed back and drew my steam blade from my astral storage. "Info to Physical." I chanted, turning off every other magi-mechanism in my body to improve the flow of my main skill.
"If I defeat you, you agree to become the symbol of my resort and it's guardian from the monsters of the cold." My tone was intentional, I haven't had a good fight in a while, except with Sylvia while she had the mage killer.
I continued with my offer. "If I win, you will get a greater purpose and I will make sure you aren't hunter, but respected."
In that moment, the winter shogun slid forward towards me before swinging directly for my neck. I instantly activated the mechanism of my blade, steam shooting from the nozzles at its back.
Our swords met, sending sparks as it stood strong. It dashed back, letting my sword continue forward, before slashed from below.
The sharp edge missed my chest by centimeter, but my chin wasn't so fortunate, I tried to dodge by moving my head back, but all that achieved was my chin getting cut as wl as my nose a bit.
I jumped back as it struck once more, straight for the waist. "Ok, not bad." I murmured as I touched where my wounds are. Still open, but I could feel the tension in my flesh as my memory enchantment attempted to reform what once was.
I pulled my hand away from the wounds and prepared, summoning my steam gun in my other hand. Let's hope I have enough strength to block with the sword, because with the immense force this thing is creating, I won't be able to fully absorb the energy.
I shot my gun directly at the shogun, who surprisingly parried the fucking bullet.
My eyes widened at this display of skill.
I decided to try something, I put my sword on my back, and pulled out the butterfly lighter knife, before proceeding to style on his ass for no reason, when he swung forward I threw the knife at his hand with surprising strength, disrupting the trajectory and grabbed the sword, thrusting forward. And slowing down the shogun enough. The thrust was not enough though as his armor absorbed the impact.
Welp, at least I managed to slow him down, that has to count for something. Yeah, nah, he struck my shoulder and left a deep cut. Definitely not a pleasant feeling.
I tossed the gun to my other hand, throwing the sword out, and shot him point blank. The bullet managed to pierce his armor, making the shogun flinch. I then focus all my area of effect at the tip of my finger tip and pointed into that same home, a burst of kinetic energy, that then spread through out the shogun's body, causing him to be moved backwards, losing footing.
"How's that, do you yield?" I asked with a wide grin, delighted at the discovery, of proportion management, trading AOE for current.
The shogun stood firm in his stance as I moved to grab my sword, which was sticking out of the snowy ground.
"Now yet? C'mon - I don't want to kill a legend."
But all it did was look at me, I materialized my steam armor and jumped forward, preparing an area of effect around my head, a thin layer of energy. As I neared the shogun struck towards my neck, but I managed to block it at the last second, dissipating the layer around my arm and positioning it at my neck. For a second I thought I was a dead man, but all that happened to me was a light cut.
My eyes narrowed for a second before I aimed for his own neck, breaking the helmet and any other layer of armor, before stopping a centimeter away from the target. "Admit defeat, I have too many methods to kill you while you are this close."
The shogun struggled for a few seconds, but inevitably stopped, his weapon couldn't flinch while I consumed it's kinetic energy.
"That's a yes then? Give a bow, knowing your strength now serves a better purpose." I said. The shogun stood for a moment, before kneeling and bowing before me.
"Good, my fight here is done, time to build something beautiful."
The shogun faded with the cold mist, as I walked back to Acat, where I laid on the backseat(mattress).
My thoughts ran wild as I began to envision what I would make, a simple lift system, beautiful tracks, the system that would keep warm the little town like center, running water, boilers, electricity to power lightbulbs, more for asthetic though... Why not make a new type of energy? A safer replacement to electricity - and with me being its creator, I can make it act however I want.
But enough of that, time to build.
The max floors of a building that I'm willing to make is five, some buildings have the privelege of vip rooms, which are just bigger rooms with more stuff. Then the restaurants with elevators, a system that drives every dish to it's destination based on a mechanical principle, simple levers.
This took me hours, but they were hours well spent. With that, I decided it was time to go home.
