Chapter 4 - Buried Truths

Marina sat on her desk, staring secretly at the boy who had ruined her uniform that morning. Alex —the rich, arrogant type who didn't even blink when people cursed him.

The lecture ended. Break time. Marina headed toward the café, but in the corridor she froze. A ghostly figure—a girl—stood there with tears streaming down her pale face.

Marina stepped closer, whispering. "What happened to you?"

The ghost sobbed. "I was buried… alive. In the dark."

Marina's eyes widened. "WHAT? Who the hell could do that?!"

Everyone around her turned to stare. Three girls passing by muttered, "Ugh, is she talking to herself? What a freak…"

Alex clenched his jaw. "What about my face, huh?!"

Marina gasped dramatically. "Oh… my… GOD 😱 Your nose—!!"

Alex shouted, "What happened to my nose?!"

She made a fake-crying face. "It's… it's still on your face!"

"WHAT THE—" Alex growled.

She casually tossed him a tissue from her bag. "Here. Clean the blood. Consider it compensation for your precious juice." With that, she flipped her hair and walked away like nothing had happened.

The streets grew darker as she walked home. But suddenly, a chill ran down her spine.

It felt like… someone was following her.

She turned. Nothing.

She walked faster. Again, the sound of steps behind her.

This time, when she turned around—
