Chapter 128 - The Secret of the Tenseigan

Chapter 128 – The Secret of the Tenseigan

"A lowly human... What exactly are you doing here?" Ōtsutsuki Yoshino glared at Yusuke, his eyes burning with fury.

"The Tenseigan. I'm here for that massive eye sealed deep within this palace," Hatake Yusuke replied plainly, pointing toward the heart of the structure.

"I thought as much... Then perish, outsider!" Yoshino roared, his hatred exploding into action.

A golden chakra aura surged violently around his body, now laced with crimson streaks—corrosive, unstable.

"Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion!"

"Man... always rushing in without thinking. What a hassle," Yusuke muttered with an annoyed sigh.

"Very well. Let me show you just how wide the gap between us truly is."

"Great Buddha Form: Armament Haki – Steel Bone Mode."

Golden energy burst from Yusuke's body, but unlike the brilliance of the Glint-Glint Fruit, this radiance carried a divine calm.

He slowly raised his hand—and caught the massive celestial blade aimed at him. With a firm grip, he crushed it effortlessly. The once-mighty blade shattered like brittle wood.

"Impossible...! What kind of power is this?! Not even our ancestral scrolls mention anything like it!" Yoshino's voice trembled.

"Surrender. You're no match for me. I don't even want to kill you," Yusuke said, dispersing his Buddha form.

While the Great Buddha Form lacked the destructive force of the Azure Dragon Fruit, it granted him composure, insight, and the unshakable spirit of a true monk. His towering physique, paired with refined combat instinct and technique, embodied a perfect fusion of mind, body, and mastery.

Of course, Yusuke's Buddha form appeared far more imposing than Sengoku's cartoonish one. Not to mention, it helped counter the mental drain from Infinity Mode, which often overloaded his thoughts.

"You bastard... I'll kill you!" Yoshino screamed, blood-red chakra flaring violently around him.

"You're too stubborn for your own good. Then let's make you quiet... for now."

Yusuke's eyes sharpened.

"Takamagahara: Time Freeze."

A tear of blood slid down his cheek as he channeled the power of the Time-Time Fruit through his Rinnegan, elevating his control over time to a divine level.

"Now listen closely. I'm taking the Tenseigan. And you already know you can't stop me," Yusuke declared flatly.

Suddenly, a pale-haired woman stepped forward, holding a baby close to her chest. Her legs trembled as she knelt before Yusuke.

"P-please... don't kill him..."

"I never intended to," Yusuke said with a shrug, clearly irritated by her bowing.

"Stand up. There's no need for this. As long as I get the Tenseigan, no harm will come to him."

Yusuke had always disliked people kneeling before him—it felt wrong.

"You must've noticed it yourself... That Tenseigan of his was never truly his. Just now, your bloodline chakra was being drained by it. I've frozen time in your surroundings. If I release it now, your body will collapse immediately," he explained calmly.

From the beginning, Yusuke had sensed the truth—the Tenseigan in Yoshino's eye wasn't genuine. Its output and spiritual resonance were far too weak when compared to the true Tenseigan wielded by Ōtsutsuki Toneri in the future.

"So, I'm taking this eye."

Without hesitation, Yusuke activated the Operation Fruit's ability, delicately extracting the Tenseigan from Yoshino's socket.

"Unfreeze."

Time resumed its natural flow. Yoshino staggered, but despite the loss, he remained on his feet.

"You can take... this eye. But you can't take the Giant Tenseigan!" he growled.

"I'm taking that too." Yusuke gave a light smile.

"That's insane! That eye was created to seal a terrifying existence! If you remove it, the consequences will be catastrophic! Even with your strength… you're no match for what it holds!" Yoshino shouted, face taut with tension.

"You're talking about Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, right?" Yusuke responded, still smiling.

"You know… and you still intend to take it?" Yoshino stared at him with disbelief, now one-eyed.

"Yes. I'm no match for Kaguya—true. But she can't kill me either. And haven't you realized? Her consciousness has long since fled this place. What remains is nothing but a hollow shell," Yusuke explained coolly.

"That's... impossible..." Yoshino muttered, visibly shaken.

"Why is it? When the Sage of Six Paths and Ōtsutsuki Hamura sealed her, Kaguya's mind escaped before the sealing was completed. They didn't realize it back then."

"So the Tenseigan is useless to you now. Hand it over. After all, this Rinnegan of mine has a deep connection to your ancestor, Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo."

"But..." Yoshino hesitated.

"No buts. You've heard of the Sky Dwellers, haven't you? Their power surpasses anything you can imagine. A half-baked Tenseigan like yours can't control that eye."

He stepped forward, gaze unwavering.

"Of course… if you hand it over, I'll help you eliminate them."

The pregnant woman murmured, "But even our ancestors feared them..."

"Relax. I'm the strongest. No matter the era, I don't lose," Yusuke replied without doubt.

"...Very well. But on one condition—train my child. I know people from Earth excel in chakra development. I want you to teach him, at least for a while."

"Fine. I accept," Yusuke said, realizing that despite Yoshino's strength, his fighting style lacked creativity. Their request made sense—and even brought joy to the couple.

"By the way… is it really just you two on the Moon?" Yusuke asked.

"I killed the others..." Yoshino admitted, his expression heavy with regret.

"It's not your fault, Yoshino," his wife whispered gently.

"Actually… we were part of the branch family."

And so, she began recounting the tragic tale to Yusuke.

It began with the disappearance of the Gedo Statue. The main family reinterpreted Hamura's will and declared the world created by the Sage of Six Paths a failure.

They plotted to destroy Earth in search of the Gedo Mazo. But their power was insufficient—so they sought to transplant Hamura's Tenseigan.

Unlike the Rinnegan, however, the Tenseigan had severe side effects. One by one, they perished, unable to bear the burden.

Only Yoshino survived, his bloodline close enough to purity, despite being from the branch family.

When he awakened the Tenseigan, he saw Hamura's true intent. But that vision clashed with the main family's beliefs, sparking a civil war.

Empowered by the Tenseigan, Yoshino defeated the main family. But in the process, his wife was taken hostage. In the end, he killed the clan's leader himself.

Still, no one trusted him.

The remaining members on both sides offered themselves to fuel the Giant Tenseigan. Even so, Yoshino stood alone, victorious—but surrounded by silence.

"...So that's Hamura's eye. No wonder its power rivaled my Rinnegan," Yusuke murmured.

"What about the other eye?" he asked.

"The core of the Giant Tenseigan is one unused Tenseigan—created through ancient ocular techniques passed down from our ancestors. When fused with chakra from a nearly pure bloodline, it gives birth to a power far beyond normal eyes. In fact, the Tenseigan can surpass even the standard Rinnegan in ocular strength. But because of that, its birth is exceedingly rare. Even the mother of our ancestors never possessed it."

"I see… So it's a rare yet positive mutation." Yusuke nodded thoughtfully.

"In that case, would you mind showing it to me directly?"

"Of course. But be careful. You do not carry the blood of our lineage," Yoshino warned.
